Came initially for lunch, was introduced to the place by a girlfriend and thought the meal was very well valued and the use of ingredients to be of quality and freshness. Went back again for dinner and opted for the omakase, and was so happy with the whole experience. There was so many dishes, but the outstanding items were the Marinated prawn with Fresh Prawn Roe, the trio of uni, the abalone with liver, and final course of Toro. All so yummy! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but the brunch turned out to be of quite good quality and delicious, especially the fresh oysters. Lots of food and quality was not compromised. We opted for the free flow option, only hiccup was no staff announced last calls so when we tried to order at 2.30pm, we were refused . However this was corrected after we spoke to the staffs. The founders definitely need to reformulate the whole business, from placing orders (via web only - staff were not 100% with system) to the packaging to the actual product (nata tarts). The items actually looked like they had been sat out for hours, and upon tasting , actually tasted more like from the night before. Dishes are very good value and taste is quite good. However my lunch took more than 30 minutes to be cooked, and I had to chase the waitresses 101 times. My friend was already served his dish at the beginning and finished eating , and I was still waiting! Also the tables are v v close together , and the way the waitress sat the customers was quite strange (many empty tables and yet they put another couple immediately next to us with a plastic divider?!) …Read More

Typical Izakaya setting, quite busy and nice atmosphere. We started with a round of fruit sours, grape for myself and peach for my friend. Quite sweet drink but cannot taste any alcohol (may be a good thing though!). There were some appetisers (raw vegetables) on the table when we arrived . We are half but did not realise we have to pay for these (think they should point this out personally).We then ordered many items and these were cooked quite quickly and bought to the table. We each had condiments of salt and a dark sweet sauce (tasted like hoi sin rather than fermented bean). The items were exactly as described. My only complaint is all the food lacked flavour (no seasoning, also no ‘barbecue’ or ‘smoky’ elements as you would normally get when items are grilled over charcoal). In the end we had to dip into shichimi powder to add another flavour. The bill was quite high for an izakaya of this standard but guess all things in Hk are expensive these days. The whole dining experience was terrible. The staffs recommended a sake but then it was out of stock. They couldn't really answer any questions as to the menu items. After we ordered many dishes including wagyu beef, these were just plonked in front of us with no instructions on how long we should cook these for. When we asked, they again had to disappear and ask other staff members. The staff were definitely more interested in playing on their phones than us! In the 2 hours we were there, none of our teas were topped up. And we had to keep requesting for our sake flask to be refilled. The food was v average, and the prices were quite high. I now understand why the place was empty all night. I will be surprised if this place lasts much longer! …Read More
