Compare and contrast the WAN Chai Coffee Academics branch with this sad excuse for a coffee shop. The WAN Chai branch is an easy 8/10. This branch is a generous 1/10. 1. No eye contact or greeting for over 2 minutes2. Place looks like a cheap cafe with stuff and boxes all over the place3. “Oven” looked like one of those ovens you find in the shrimp catching places. Horrible, burned, dirty. 4. “chef” handling cooked and raw items without washing hands. Putting the resultant mess into this “oven” to cook. 5. I really wanted a coffee and was prepared to overlook it and then… another two minutes went by and nothing. No eye contact, no greeting - not even a grunt. I turned around and left. I visited "Dacha" on 25th September for Sunday lunch with my family. I had walked by a few times and never thought to go inside. My son however asked if we could specifically go to "Dacha" as he had been researching various dishes with an Eastern European theme. The decor is reminiscent of a small country home. Clean, airy and with enough of a home feeling as not to be stuffy or pretentious. We got a nice welcome from what I now know to be the owners Mum and Dad!!! Thats homely and nice!We ate the following items and they were ALL super good, tasty, correct temperature and served quickly:-Vareniki, Stoganoff, Golubtzi, Chicken Kiev, Blinis and Salmon Roe, Pelmeni, Honey Cake and Oreshki, some fish fillet pan fried with tomatoes and carrots. Every mouthful was a delight, really well cooked and we "cleaned" the plates. I will be back!!!I was literally in tears at the end because the food and style of cookery reminded me so much of my late Fathers cooking style and dishes. Я відвідав "Дачу" 25 вересня на недільний обід з сім'єю. Однак мій син запитав, чи можна нам спеціально піти на «Дачу», оскільки він досліджував різні страви на східноєвропейську тематику.Декор нагадує невеликий заміський будинок. Чисто, просторо та з достатньою домашньою атмосферою, щоб не було задушливо чи претензійно. Ми отримали гарний прийом від того, що я тепер знаю, щоб бути власниками Мама і Тато!!! Це по-домашньому і гарно!Ми їли наступні страви, і ВСІ вони були дуже хороші, смачні, правильної температури та швидко подані:-Вареники, Стоганов, Голубці, курка по-київськи, бліни та ікра лосося, пельмені, медовик і орешки, рибне філе, смажене з помідорами та морквою.Кожен ковток був насолодою, справді добре приготований, і ми «почистили» тарілки. Dismal staff. Stood at the door for 5 minutes while getting no eye contact, no greeting and no service. I was a party of four so not a small number to lose. it seems no one in here cares about customers.Staff milling about seemingly doing nothing, Uninspiring dark and shabby decor, dirty and badly organised. I am so happy I chose to turn and leave. After reading reviews on the food I am double glad.
