Nope, it does not cost $80000
Man Wah
2025-09-21
My friends were intrigued by their recent news which sort of became a free promotion for them. We decided to try their set meal minus the champage.Although they have wine pairing, some of us opted out and some of us only chose a glass (I was a bit worried about their previous review, I guess they changed their policy)Even the most simple cucumber they were able to turn it into an art with a lovely yuzu flavor to it.The soup was rich yet the broth was so clear.I never thought aged tangerine could complement lobster but it did its job well without being overpowering. The scallop could be used as sashimi so it was cooked just right without being dry.Only thing I wished would be for the wagyu to be bit bigger.Their yellow fungus was thick and juicy I nearly thought it was some sort of meat.I love how they gave it their own twist and used fig to replace the mango for this dessert. It wasn't too sweet still yet allowed those who don't like tarty desserts a chance to enjoy it.The overall quality of the meal was lovely. One part I have to state I was a bit disappointed was we mentioned it was a celebration of my friend's promtion(though we kept it a secret). We thought upon serving the petit four they would at least have congratulations (maybe a chocolate plaque/writing ) on her plate but that didn't happen. It was quite late and since it was a surprise, I didn't mention it further. The review I still will mark as great though I have to deduct a star for service.…Read More

HSBC Visa Signature Discount
PLAISANCE BY MAURO COLAGRECO
2025-08-02
After they gained their Michelin Star, this is the first time I came back. Their six-course dinner is half priced if you use the HSBC Visa Signature DiscountThe amuse bouche are presented in a much more elevated way.My favorite olive oil is served again with its citric ginger flavors. More surprisingly, this time they prepare the butter in front of us. However, this time the bread was not the chef's Grandma recipie. The clams were surprisingly a good match with their almonds and the contrasting texture was fun to have. The abalone was tender. I felt there just a bit too much sugar beans which slightly took away the focus of the dish but the flavors were good. The lobster ravioli was divine and the hint of citric flavor elevated the lobster's flavor even more. The langoustine was springy. However, I felt the tumeric/ginger sauce was a bit too strong for its delicate flavors.Red mullet was succulent and the sauce and sides were just right for this dish. The Sendai wagyu and it was a really stunning dish. The tenderness of most wagyu is due to its fat content. However, for this wagyu, there isn't too much fat yet it remains just a tender. The mild flavors of the fennel complemented the vanilla and chocolate flavors of the desserts making it not too sweet.Looking forward to their next menu.…Read More

Summer Fruits Symphony
The Point Lobby Lounge
2025-07-31
The Point recently has a promotion where you can prepay for their afternoon tea set for half price, costing less than HKD170 per person even after the service charge. Besides the afternoon tea set, it also includes unlimited Movenpick Icecream and coffee/tea.For 1 scoop of Movenpick icecream in store, it usually costs around $40 so having 1 scoop of each flavor basically is already a bargain, even before including the afternoon tea set.Besides the unlimited drinks, 1 drink with movenpick icecream is included in the set.For the afternoon tea set, given the afternoon teat set includes unlimited icecream and chocolate fondue, I felt they could have  more savories instead of desserts to balance out the afternoon tea set. However, given this price, this is more than acceptable.Due to the hot weather, the watermelon gazpacho was definitely my favorite savory for being the most refreshing. Out of the desserts, I have to say the ice-cream is the best.…Read More

Mineko Kato's Afternoon Tea
The Lobby Lounge, Regent Hong Kong
2025-07-06
Their Satoyama's Flower Tart was definitely what attracted me to their afternoon tea but other food items surprised me too. This is plant based afternoon tea but even then it was still outstanding.Their flower tart was definitely the highlight. I loved the refreshing herbal flavors to it though I suggest taking a small bite first as my friend unfortunately did not enjoy it.The beetroot espuma was well balanced with their dried raspberries making it have a less "vegetable" flavor to it. Their jam and cream was also such a delicious topping that I found myself spreading every inch of my scone with it. The lychee was also quite big in the jam and I cannot control myself to having some of it even without the scone.Their Finger sandwiches are always great in presentation and flavors. The mango and avocado was definitely my favorite. For the cookies, I felt that the lemon and matcha flavors could have been a bit more prominent to make it a more refreshing dessert. Other than that a great afternoon tea.…Read More

20th Anniversary afternoon tea
Walt's Cafe
2025-07-06
This year is Hong Kong Disneyland's 20th Anniversary and they have so many celebration menus/set meals. I decided to try this afternoon tea set first.Their print design for the latte was cute. The tea set came and it was totally adorable, showing off their everything that's Mickey related. For this tea set, I preferred their savory items. The caviar was not too salty and the scallop was perfectly seared (given this is just a tea set). The cucumber roll was really refreshing with the crab. The desserts were definitely the cutest though I think it could be less sweet. Their sweetness was defiinitely no where near to Disney snacks at Disneyland and their flavors area already fruit based. However, despite I ate the desserts and savory items alternatively, the sweetness by the end was still a bit much. As individual desserts, they would have tasted just right but collectively till the end it would be too sugary., I think they should try to reduce the sugar and enhance the tarty/fruity flavors of the desserts to make it more refreshing. However, given the great flavors of the savory and its cuteness, I will still give this a great review.…Read More

New location with new menu
Roganic
2025-07-06
Roganic has reopened at Lee Garden and we finally were able to try it. Some of the food items are my friend's dish thus the flavors are not reviewed for some dishes. The snacks already gave a great first impression. My favorite was their oolong cured trout which created a surprsing combination.First was the seaweed custard with eel. The seaweed aroma elevated the smoky flavors of the eel.I had the seabass next and I definitely recommend their non-alcoholic pairing for this dish. The dish's flavor was almost like a blend of all seafood(in a good way). The hibiscus juice was a nice refreshing drink on its own but the peppery flavor is very subtle till you have the dish and the drink itself further showed off the already prominent seafood flavors. The stuffed yellow chicken a fulfilling main and I loved how they added the sweet white corn to it to balance its strong flavors.I added the Wagyu course while my friend added the cheese course. The wagyu was of course melting in my mouth like butter but what I loved more was their sauce made from the Tokyo turnip, having a sweet vegetable tone to complement the Wagyu's high fat content.Dessert came and the Earl Grey flavors matched the berries so well. The only part I felt could be slighly improved was the buttercream close to melting when served so I had to finish it quickly.Looking forward to my next visit.…Read More

Cacio and Pepe Madness
Lucciola Restaurant & Bar
2025-06-25
This is new menu is available every Tuesday which includes unlimited refill of their salad, pasta, 3 types of steak and Tiramisu. Every course was good and I wanted to refill it but I focused on the steak and even then I was only able to have 1 refill. They have my favorite focaccia and it so warm and fluffy.I love how both their salad/pasta has just the right amount of dressing/sauce without turning it into a heavy dishTheir steak came and it was such a nice experience to try all 3 types of steak with different sauces. For myself, I loved the hanger steak the most as the flavors were the most intense while my friend loved the rib eye the most for being the most tender. We had another refill and we were quite full after that as each serving was really large. You can see how tall the steaks were layered in each serving.Their tiramisu was not too sweet though I prefer those with a bit more alcohol inside(I still had 2 servings)A nice decaf americano to conclude the dinner. Although it limits the unlimited serving to 90 minutes, the serving/refill speed was just right without being rushed. Definitely a nice choice for steak lovers.…Read More

Still my favorite restaurant at Disney
Explorer's Club Restaurant
2025-05-18
Today, I finally had the time to eat here and this place remains as my favorite restaurant at Disney.Although its called a semi buffet, the buffet area has quite large variety of food. We ordered the butter chicken and the lasagna. Despite the bowl looks small, there were quite a lot of chicken which were all quite tender. The vegetarian lasagna was suprisingly good with the right balance of cheese and tomato sauce.  Their drink options also was more diverse where besdies their usual juice, they also have unlimited coffee and tea. Some snacks at Disney can cost you HKD70. This semi buffet lunch costs around HKD250 after the Magic Access Discount (includes the 10% service charge). This is really a bargain at Disney given both the amount and quality of food. The only downside is since it is a semibuffet and so comfortable with the aircon, you are bound to stay longer and if this is your first time at Disney, you may have less time to enjoy the attractions.…Read More

Captain America vs Iron Man (Cap Wins)
Starliner Diner
2025-05-12
It has almost been a year since my negative experiene here so I decided to try the restaurant again as I was in a hurry again. First regarding the service, it seems they have additional staff to direct you to the available cashier and the shorter queue for food so the service was more smooth compared to last year.I tried their different burgers on two different days (10 and 11/5) and combined this review. The iron man burger, although looking cuter than last year, was still quite dry. The patty this time at lease did not crumble. Moreover, it is $5 cheaper than last year, which is quite surprising as prices usually goes up.The Captain America Burger was a nice surprise. Their beef inside was more moist and even the bun was more soft. Just a postuatlion, given the bun of iron man burger are red, maybe this coloring made this bun more dry. They are both the same price and depite the potato wedges are better than the fries, I would still choose the Captain America Burger. …Read More

Leela

Many of the dishes here reminded me of Chaat and definitely showed how much Chef Tuli contributed to this restaurant. We tried the tasting menu, which was really fulfilling and so please prepare an empty stomach. It also left me wanting to try their Royal Experience MenuThe starters were already beautifully presented and the yogurt inside made it even more appetizing. The coconut seabass was so succulent with a delicate hint of coconut. The pork ribs were marinated with honey yet it was not overtly sweet. Despite we chose mild spicy, there was still a kick to it and when one of friends informed them, they immediately prepared some sweet yogurt dipping on the side, which still preserves its Indian flavor whie solving this problem.I loved all the subsequent mains but my favorite would definitely be the fish curry. Surprisingly, this one is actually less spicy while still being aromatic from the spices.I tried a bit of each for the desserts and overall for both aesthetics and matching the overall theme, I loved the Mango the most. Now planning my next meal there.…Read More

Stunning Nordic Dinner
Embla
2025-06-22
There was a tasting menu but since I wanted try their wagyu so I decided try this dinner menu. Some of the dishes were tried by my other friends which I included the photos in the review but I didn't include its review.Nordic snacks although the prawn tart with caviar was definitely the star, I definitely appreciated how they elevated their salmon snack to something so beautiful. There was lots of lobster in this roll and the green apple and gin further elevated its flavor.Next came the bread and all I can say is I wanted more though I felt it should be served after the fish courseTurbot was lovely but the bread's flavor kind of still lingered and overshadowed the turbot. As the wagyu and lamb is stronger, I feel the bread maybe better served after the fish course. The wagyu was tender but the sauce was definitely its focus. The wagyu was not too fatty and the chocolate/cinnamon sauce surprisingly matched the wagyu. The desserts was quite innovative with rapeseed oil sorbet together with its rosy scent reminded me of spring.Looking forward to try their other menu.…Read More

Great brunch in the air
Carna by Dario Cecchini
2025-06-07
Has been in my to-try-list for some time and I finally got to try it. The environment and view was lovely.Focaccia bread was aromatic but I was impressed by their green salad. Their fig sauce was really appetizing. Now the unlimited appetizers start. Having said that, the appetizers were so full we only ordered few more items for the second round. All their beef items are good but I was impressed by their Burrata Cheese with vegetables, vinegar and pinenuts. Despite the cheese, it was very appetizing due to the vinegar and pinenut aroma.Pasta was unlimited too but we were so full from the appetizers. There were plenty of braised wagyu inside the sauce and the pasta was al dente. For the sauce, my parents loved the flavor but for myself, I felt it was a bit too salty so I guess we all have different preferences. The Angus Cube Roll had lovely grill and aroma to it. The braised rib caught my heart with its tenderness and its lovely flavors from its marination.Tiramisu is not unlimited but the server some how guessed I was a dessert fanatic and gave me a large scoopService here was lovely and looking forward to coming here again to try their other steaks. …Read More

Unlimited steak and wine on Tuesday
Hugo's
2025-04-05
Hugo recently has a promotion where every Tuesday, they will serve there unlimited steak and wine menu on Tuesday. They will introduce the cuts they have that night(which they will serve in the order of tenderloin, ribeye and sirloin). Their house wine was also quite good given that it is unlimited.Despite I wanted to save my stomach, the warm and buttery onion rolls and garlic bread were too hard to resist.Hugo Salad and Fries were also unlimited but I only had one serving as I was looking forward for the steak. It was such a nice oppurtunity to try all 3 cuts. First came my favorite, the tenderloin, which was almost melting in my mouth.Next came the rib eye which was the most aromatic out of the 3.Sirloin I would say is the middle of them both, retaining most of the tenderness while still having a hearty flavor.I definitely loved their tenderloin and tried one more before dessert. The creme brule was really large and the ratio of the caramelised topping and custard ratio was just right without being too sweet.…Read More

THAI POT
2025-09-24
I wanted to have full lunch before the typhoon signal 8. Many hotpot sets is minimally set as 90 minutes, where typhoon signal 8 would be hoisted. I found this shop where you can choose their 60-minute option thus when I finished the meal, the typhoon signal was still just 3. They even exempt the service charge during weekday lunch. The soup was quite rich although the option the refill soup is not tailored to it thus it was quite dilute in the end.Despite it was just 60 minutes, the serving speed was quite fast and I was able to order around 20 plates of meat and enjoy other food as well. It was quite interesting for the Thai twist for this hotpot shop.I actually found the Australian beef to be less fatty and next time I may choose their cheaper option.…Read More

Ca-Tu-Ya

They have a weekday afternoon tea promotion and I decided to try it as my friend recommended it in the past. The regular version costs around $30 extra.Although the afternoon tea version is only 80gm compared to the regular 120gm, with the large bowl of rice and soup, it was quite full and I was able to skip dinner. The soup also wasn't too salty as these complimentary soup can taste quite strong sometimes. The cutlet as mentioned was surprisingly big for afternoon tea. It wasn't oily and very crunchy. The batter they used is not the thinnest but given this price, this is quite good already.…Read More
