Fantastic service and food
Statement
2021-11-27
Statement has always been delivering high level of service and food quality, regardless the 'host' of the restaurant. Aqua Kyoto is a very typical Western fusion restaurant. The food may not impress the picky palates of North Asians, but it has great ambience with good taste of music and it is basically a concept that Westerners have on Japanese food. Why not? At least it doesn't have the cold faces of waitresses of typical Japanese restaurants in HK. …Read More

Nice ambience, average food quality
Tipsy Restaurant & Bar
2021-05-03
booked a table for two last Friday at Tipsy via openrice, as we stumbled this 'Little Tai Hang ' building a week ago while wondering around the area, as we just recently discovered the neighborhood after 15 years in HK...The area is quite chic and chill vs say Central or Soho with a younger touch as well. The interior of Tipsy is chic and chill and it has a lovely little balcony. We ordered two starters, one main with two sides and one dessert, as well as two glasses of wine and one cocktail. The bill came around HKD1500. It may seem quite reasonble but the portion is very small and the wine quality is 4 out of 10 and food quality is 6 / 10. …Read More

Overpriced but waitors are nice
Warren
2021-04-24
A bit overpriced for its quality, but waitors are nice here. Despite its 'Western' label, it is mainly catering to local audience. It has a nice little table outside. The restaurant doesn't have sparkling water and when we ordered it, the waitor went to the 711 nearby to by a bottle of Pierre. kinda cute:) The Pinot Noir the shop offered actually is not bad. we ordered the special main so it came with a glass of wine. we could see that the cook is trying to impress customers with good presentation, and the taste is not bad honestly, but it is unfathomable that why a small little restaurant like this would like to venture 'quasi-fine dining'. If this is a home cuisine, it could be better. …Read More

Good intention, mediocre execution
COBO HOUSE
2020-12-08
Let's talk about the positives first. Food quality is actually good. There are 'concepts' being thrown around, which probably is appealing to some but not to me, but the food quality itself is not too bad. The combination of favors is interesting, albeit not entirely innovative. Can easily tell it is from HK chefs trained somewhere in the West. Ingredients are on the mediocre side, nothing too fancy, which is fine. I just don't see the fuss about asking for deposits and being secretive about the menu. There's really nothing too special about the menu. But it is not bad. Tasty enough. Service. The waitors are making good efforts, albeit lack of sophistication. For TST restaurant, not bad at all. Here comes the disappointing part. This restaurant, despite all the fuss about making deposits and all, locates in K11 musea mall, as in literally in the mall. It is nothing luxury about it and it feels like sitting in a cafe in any normal HK mall. The view is OK. Not sure why so many people are raving about it. If you are planning for an authentic fine dining romantic dinner, stay with Central...somehow TST, except a few hotel restaurans, is just not the place for top notch fine dining. If you just wanna try something new, this place is not bad. …Read More
