Average lunch
Peking Handmade Noodles Restaurant
2011-06-22
Came here for lunch past Tuesday at 1:30pm. Surprisingly there was lots of seat, we got our own little table for the two of us. We ordered xiao long bao, dandan noodle with the pork but without any spicy, but i think you should get a little spicy, it'll probably taste a whole lot better, and the fried..bun? I'm not sure what the name is exactly, but overall our bill was almost $88hkd. The xiao long bao was not that good, not shanghainese enough, but does beijing even sell xiao long bao?! I thought it was a beijing style or something..not sure $22. The fried bun was good, better than the xiao long bao. Greasey though. The dandan noodle was okay, very peanutty taste..for the soup. Big, so you can share with a friend if you order appetizers. Tried asking the server what people usually order and she had no clue..was just like "depends on you..." Thanks, no help! Not a bad price...would return if I happen to be craving some dandan noodles.…Read More

Worst breakfast buffet ever!
Dorsett Cafe
2011-06-15
PLEASE, if you have to pay for this, take your money elsewhere. It is not worth $55 to eat a breakfast buffet where there is barely anything, and the only people who go are people staying at this hotel with the free meal tickets. Everything seems to be running out, the crossiant was soggy, the shu mai was gross. The only thing good? The fresh milk and orange juice. The rice noodle was okay too. It sucked and I'll never pay to eat this, go down the street and pay $20 for a bowl of noodles or something. If you're a guest here, by all means go if it's free, otherwise, PASS! If you like quantity over quality, this may be your cup of tea. They barely even came to clear the plates, it's not even a big place. 3 tables of buffet...one is just drinks.…Read More

Hokkaido Katsu Sushi
2011-05-30
I think there was a line outside..but we went in to see how long the wait was and was seated at the bar/converter belt right away. We were a party of two..ordered off the menu, they forgot one dish..my beef sushi was bad, i picked it up to get some soysauce and the whole thing fell apart in my soy sauce plate!!! The handrolls were good, everything else...not as impressive. Customer service was nice..alway someone to pour u tea...and they thought it was amusing that were spoke english..lolexpensive like all sushis...…Read More

There's a lot of choices..too bad they are in chinese... some had pics, so that was good. The waiters seem busy..lots of people around 9pm. I ordered the green tea shaved ice and my friend got the mango shaved ice. The mango one was much better. My green tea one..tasted off...gross after a while. Both $39 each. Went to pay, and no one at the register... Then they came after.…Read More

Pai Tau Restaurant

We sat upstairs, came here a year ago, came back again. People smoke upstairs..Soup is free, and you go get it yourself. We get a meal set, well 3, so each came with a drink, ordered hot milk tea and cold milk tea. My rice noodle was very good, I liked it alot, the beef rice plate was awful..and the egg/seafood rice plate was okay...very saucy with..no taste unfortunately. They have a restroom and service is pretty fast. Big portions for about 32$…Read More

Came here for Sunday brunch with the family. Arrived at 1145am, you pick your table, so we picked ours..then we ordered from the paper slip they have on the table...I dont remember EVERYTHING we ordered, but some of the usual is:-hao gao (shrimp dumplings)- very very good! probably my fave dish at this place!-shumai- it's pretty good-rice in leaf- um i don't like this, it wasn't very moist and not enough flavor-fried rice..i forgot which one it was, but it was very flavorful and moist with lots of sauce-chicken feet- aw, i liked :)-pig feet- it's so disgusting looking, but it's pretty good and lots of meatthere are lots of tables, different sizes; only like 3 waiters though...…Read More

I really like it!!!!
Mochi Cafe
2011-05-21
Came at 5:45pm, opens at 6pm. Waited in line..lots of people. Right at 6pm, got seated right away, can only stay one hour**** Ordered pork ramen , after 10% service charge, each person will pay 69$. You order by marking the piece of paper at your table. The hand made udon was delicious!!!!!!!! The soup tasted a bit bland, but looked very oily but I appreciate the taste, you can taste the soup but it's not too salty. I can't say enough good things about how the noodle was very easy to chew and very fresh! My soup came out like 3 mins after my friends, and we ordered the same time..my udon that came in a separate bowl came another 3 mins later....The pork was delicious, the tea was too. But they don't come around to check on you , so you have to wave them down!!When we left at 7pm there were at least 10 parties waiting in line outside to get in!! The tables were very close to each other, so I can definitely just listen to what my neighbor was talking about..…Read More

So little flavors!
Awfully Chocolate
2011-05-21
Saw this new place last year when i was studying in HK, went in, but decided not to buy anything. Came back this summer, and decided to go in yesterday just because it's been a year and people are still raving about this place. Okay, people come in and look and leave, and only one man was buying something , but we got ice cream anyways. There was only one flavor, says the sales girl and it is chocolate. Okay, 1 scoop 28$ 2 scoop 38$ so I get 2 scoop. Ah, my HK friend says its VERY chocolate...so I asked her, what does that mean?!!? She says regular ice cream she eats in HK is not as chocolate..but I came from the USA so I was confused, because EVERY ICE CREAM I eat that is chocolate tastes JUST like this!!!! I go to supermarket and buy a big carton of ice cream for the same, or maybe less than the price i pay for 2 scoops here!! AND it will taste the same!! SO i will not come back unless there's another flavor that I can't try somewhere else..save your $$ this is not that special...i don't know why people say it's good~Very cute take-away packaging though, and very big scoops of ice cream.…Read More

Sapporo Ramen
2011-05-21
I'm on vacation and am staying around near Olympian City, and have been passing by this place ever since...I was here last year. I didn't get a chance to try this and thought why not?! since we haven't decided where to eat. I thought it was going to be a real authentic japanese ramen place, much like what i eat in Japan when I was there, but I was very disappointed. It's not japanese like. The soup wasn't that good, the noodle wasn't good, it tasted more chinese than japanese. I got the pork ramen with the eel rice bowl $78. The servers were nice, as usual. The tea tasted..more korean than japanese. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place, it's not very cheap, I mean if it's real japanese, or taste more japanese-like I would spend the $$ BUT it's not. …Read More

New Korean B.B.Q. Restaurant

My friend brought me here for unlimited korean bbq, there were 11 of us, a little tight at the table but it fit us all! We did not have reservations, but we didn't wait long. The food was VERY good, worth your money! They have nice dessert too. Limit of 90 minutes to eat..there is a lot of meat to choose from! I will come back again!…Read More
