Very disappointed

Went there with a friend after learning of from the Mastercard promotion (which turned out we could only get plain noodles with NO meat/ vegetables). The place is small and cosy and menu is unique. I ordered the 48 hr slow cooked beef with noodles. Beef was served warm in a gravy looking sauce together with the noodles. Beef was fatty and noodles were average. Service was lacking. Waitress was unfriendly and not attentive. Many items (e.g. squid and spinach noodles) were sold out and only plain yellow noodles were left. The Mastercard offer was not honoured properly. Frankly, I was too scared to ask on given her attitude. We just left after one noodle set for elsewhere.…Read More

GreatFoods2015 You should complain to Mastercard. Why do you want to ruin a *? Be considerate Respect yourself. Two people, one bowl of noodles and a bad review because of a Mastercard promotion?

aussierules We walked out because of its service, or more precisely the lack of it. Respect freedom of speech.

Tonight we visited the Rei Japanese Restaurant for the first time. Basically the restaurant was fairly empty, we thought that was probably becos people are still steering clear of Japanese food.We ordered some sushi rolls, cod fish , fried rice and fried assorted vegetables. Generally the food was slow and the service was fairly average. First of all, the rice (very small) came after we have finished with the cod. Secondly, what they called "Assorted vegetables" on the menu turned out to be 90% bean sprouts and 10% other vegetables such as mushrooms and carrot. You had to "find" the other vegetables as it was predomimently a bean sprout dish. We were expecting assorted vegetables to be a good mix of corn, mushrooms, green vegetables, egg plants and carrots etc. As we all know, bean sprouts are really cheap and the cost of the whole dish was probably under HK$10. When we told the waitress and asked her to pass our feedback to the manager, she only apologised. The manager never came to talk to us, and the dish (we almost left the whole dish) was charged in full. The verdict is, we will never go to Rei again. …Read More

Great Food, Lousy service!
Oolaa (必列者士街)
2011-03-07
The food is great, ingredients are fresh and of good quality. However, the down side is, its service is slow and generally lacking. When we first went there a month ago, it was a lot busier than yesterday. The waiters & waitresses were flat out, so obviously they just dont have enough staff to cater to the crowds. I sat there for 10 mins when I first entered and no one offered me the menu or drinks list. Thinking about its location being isolated from the rest of Soho, Oolaa really should get its act together to improve its service. Otherwise I can see it being another failed restaurant in the Soho area within the year.…Read More

Good Steak
Copa Steakhouse
2010-01-18
We go to Macau 4-5 times a year and have always chosen Portuguese food. So, this time, we have decided to try a nice restaurant irrespective of cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised by COPA Steakhouse at Sands. Since we are not ones into the whole tacky casino scene, we didn't know what to expect. Copa is located at the top (3rd) floor of the casino and is relatively quiet. Servicing is outstanding and genuine. The salad we had was not impressive, but the steak was outstanding. We ordered 1 fillet (8 oz) and 1 Tenderloin both were impressive. The vegies have to be ordered separately tho. The bill turned out to be $800+, with one beer and mineral water. I will definitely go back to COPA…Read More

The Stoep Restaurant
2009-06-21
We booked this restaurant becos of the memory of a restaurant with the same name at the nearby area some 15 years ago. The restaurant has clearly been sold since and moved to another location.First of all, the food. It's rather average, altho the Farmhouse bread was nice & soft. We ordered a few mixed BBQ and the meat quality was not brilliant. Salad was no different to Fat Angelo's giant salad. Secondly, the setting. It's right on the beach and Cheung Sha Beach is simply gorgeous esp by HK standards.Thirdly, the service. There was NOT a single waiter/ waitress you would consider friendly. They are all very indifferent and stressed out. The Manager (Brenda I think her name was) was scary. She looks like a school principal who was unfriendly and rude to customers. My friend tried to order some free water, she just looked at her blank like she just escaped from a mental institute. The other waitresses are also blunt but not as bad as Brenda. We gave them $1 tip and the waitress said "1 dollar tip, that's it?". What do they expect? We believe in giving a nice tip to those who deserve it. Got the message?By the way, my friend who ordered the water is blonde - so they are not racist at all. They are simply terrible to everyone!!It will be another 15 years before we visit Stoep again, that is if they are still around!…Read More
