Busy night on Valentine day
Fast Gourmet (The ONE)
2024-02-24
We booked the table ahead of time.    Its a Valentine's Day set menu with several choices. The appetizers are lobster and crab croissants.    They taste great.    Great lobster bisque, and they taste as good as top restaurant. One of our Main courses is seafood soup with pastry top. Desert : We choose ice cream and affogato are must try - chef recommendation.     Please I spell affogato correctly and stop the correction.    Is this a food review website ?    …Read More

Best Whiskey Bar
The Macallan Whisky Bar & Lounge
2023-07-30
The bar has surprised me.    It has wide selections of Whiskey in addition to MaCallan.   Also, they have other cocktails and drinks.     It has many whiskey choices.   Happy hour 6-8pm age discount up to 6 persons is a fun way.    Most of staff i encountered gave professional service.   Pizzas and other simple dinner snacks.    Live Music is also amazing. I’ll be back for sure. …Read More

Meat lover and friends
Flying Pig Bistro
2019-06-01
Our friend made the reservation.   A table of 6.     We were a bit noisy.   But lots of good meat and good dishes.     Lots of choices on food and drink.   ribs and fries.   Suckling pigs is very good.   Very similar to portugual style as tasty.   But not too salty.     Please ask for suckling pigs and small burgers and don't forget about desserts.     Price is reasonable…Read More

Excellent Qmark restaurant
Laurel
2018-12-22
The only Qmark restaurant in Macau. Dim sum is fresh and tasty. Got to try Peking duck - their signature dish. 腸粉 is excellent- right pastry and not too thick. Don’t underestimate the coffee and tea. 灌湯餃 has the right ingredient and hot. Service is good. Weather was nice. I should have tried the outdoor tables. …Read More

Taste & look better than pic
Cafe Deco Pizzeria
2018-12-08
It was a business lunch. First 2 sips of the soup was so good that we stopped our conversation to compliment the soup. That’s why the photo is a bit off. This soup is better than many 5star hotels in HK. Then, the steak is good too. Curry can be the best in town, and they go well with naan bread. View is spectacular as usual …Read More

NO.13 Modern Japanese Cuisine & Bar
2018-11-10
A random and lazy afternoon Saturdays lunch. Walk in with a choice of window seats. I ordered the set lunch. Tasty ... handsome waiter (or the boss - hard to tell) asked if the miso soup was too salty. The soup is good - great service ! And chef follow up. …Read More

Bound by Hillywood

Coffee is good.     Very good.    We are in Prince Edward station needing a coffee shop to spend an hour.    Not expecting anything from a local cafe.   But we found this place and server - Nathan.   He knows coffee and machines.     Please try various coffee.   I will come back.    This is a few good coffee places nearby.   But I will retry this place again. …Read More

More than coffee - Italian pizza
The Coffee Academics (耀華街)
2015-07-05
We wanted to this place mostly for the coffee.   I heard many good review about all kinds of coffee.   We decided to try dinner too. We ordered pizza and steak from the carefully thoughtout menu.   Both dishes arrived on time.   Pizza is thin and tasty with all the right ingredients.   Cheese was great.    Steak is also tasty, and the sause is fruity and zasty.    The taste was so good it was hard to choose to eat w/ or w/o the sauce.   …Read More

Jamie's Italian
2014-12-26
On boxing day before noon, restaurant was quiet.   Easy to find.  The outdoor sign is big.  We got a table right away. Order 3 pasta, mushroom and cheese risotto and truffle tagliarellini.  The 3rd pasta does not worth mentioned.        Risotto wasn't cooked right as it's chunky and hard, unlike my favorite italian restaurant Mistral.   Risotto should be hard but you don't feel it.  It wasn't cooked right.      Truffle tagliarellini is average or above average.     Service was great and professional.   …Read More

Vancouver Chocolate in HK - almost bar none.
Thomas Haas
2009-12-01
I was rushing to a Sunday business lunch. Yes, on sunday - not good at all. I thought the lunch was at Mira Hotel. No, it was at the Miramar Shopping Mall. The good thing is I found this new shop in HK. This made my day. Last year, I went to their HQ in N. Vancouver several times last year and this year. It was found by a Vancouver couple. The founder Thomas Haas is an excellent chef who specialize in pastry. I tried the pastry and chocolate, and they are "out of this world" good. Their ingredients are so good & natural you should be able to taste while being not too sweet. This is not an easy task. Pls try to eat his chocolate slowly, and you will understand. While i was rushing to lunch, i was extremely surprised to found this tiny shop. Thus, I bought several boxes of chocolate even though I was very late already.. I tried it last night nothing has changed. The best chocolate. The bad news is they still don't have other goodies : coffee & pastry. I guess pastry will not be as fresh as flying to HK from Vancouver. In Vancouver, He prefers to sold out rather to overstock as his normal practice in Vancouver. Well I did not mention or compare with any other brands available in HK. No need. Please taste this chocolate slowly if you can. I did not have time for picture. But I give you their Website, check out the pastry. It's also "out of this world." http://www.thomashaas.com/…Read More

A no rush set lunch w/ many choices & good uni
June Japanese Restaurant
2009-04-19
Environment : I have been here a few times previously. :ast time, I was probably drinking more than several sakes with my buddies and not able to appreciate the food. BTW, this is the place I saw how the sushi chef cleaned their counter every night. A fix procedure and it is very clean.I walked in on a Saturaday afternoon. It was kind of full with a few counter seats available. I took the counter seat facing the little crab. Menu and Ordering:Menu arrived quickly. The set lunch has about 10 different main courses with soba or udon. A "Three-color" sashimi rice set with my usual zaru soba . was my final choice. There are many good choices I like as I have not eaten Japanese food for a about a month. The food ls pardon my lack of experience in naming fish. Majority of fishes I ate are usually sushi, sashimi, and a few steamed fish. The white fish and salmon roe were fresh. I usually avoid uni somehow. But this is different. It soft, not fishy at all, with a small hint of sea water. I like it a lot and I finished the bowl quickily. Zaru soba arrived right afterward. I added all the ingredients into the soya sause. It's just the way I like it : cold, chewy, not too salty, tastes of wasabi & green onions. Overall, the seafood have been fresh of all the times I have visited . Service has been prompt, pleasant, polite, and efficient. I am looking forward to going back for more. …Read More

A perfect lunch in a perfect place - not crowded
Caffé Vergnano 1882
2009-04-10
Working half way on this Easter Friday, the day was below average. So I decided to go out for lunch. It was quiet at 12.30pm at this Cafe, and I took the window seat. Set lunch menu has 3 choices, the sirloin was an easy choice. Salad was cool and perfect for a warm day. Then the main course arrived. It looked and tasted good. The steak quality is equivalent or better than many steakhouse. It was cooked medium and tender. The egg is perfect : not too runny or well cooked. Suddenly, the cafe was playing my favorite Eric Clapton, and the black /white coffee arrive. At that point, I realized this was a perfect lunch : good food, good environment, don't need too much interaction with waiters, good music, and a good magazine articles. Consequently, I took the picture half way. Food was way better than it looked. If I really want this lunch to be super perfect, then a beautiful companion would complete. …Read More
