After 6 years in HK, I've finally felt inclined enough to share my interesting experience at newly opened VCNCY, dinner for 4. First off, the front entrance is very unique, possibly worth checking out the restaurant just for that. There's some seating area outside for those waiting or those just wanting a drink.When we arrived we were told that there was a 15 minute wait - we were the next table, this turned into a 45 minute wait. They seemed to be waiting to give us a specific table, so other people were able to be seated before us. If we knew this, we would have gone elsewhere, nothing extra was done to make this wait more pleasant, just some simple empty apologies. Not acceptable.When we sat down, we were then informed that of the 5 main dishes they offer, their 2 specialities were sold out - Pork Belly Wrap and Wagyu Tartare. Thank you VCNCY for not telling us at the door and where you had 45 minutes to let us know. An interesting situation also occurred, when we finished our meal, the waitress then mentioned to us that they suddenly have the Pork Belly Wrap available again (not sure how that works), we declined.In the end we ate a varity of dishes with nothing in particular standing out. We had a few cocktails which were decently innovative, however did taste pretty watered down. To end the night, upon receiving the bill, the manager felt inclined to rush over at the sight of money in the tray (even though we hadn't all finish paying). Poor service overall. For a restaurant for new, close to zero effort was made to make us feel welcomed. We went to the next street for additional food and stronger alcohol.…查看更多
