翡翠一向是我哋嘅熱店之一。在短短幾年之間，已開咗唔少分店，分佈港九新界，而家仲向屋邨出發。真是勁！因為太鐘意佢哋嘅拉麵同小籠包，有新店開業我哋都嘗試去試下。睇下可唔可以保持水準今日選了這間。1：50pm 嚟到，不用等位。仲認得出樓面經理在其它分店做過。姖非常有禮貌地請我入坐。見我大肚便便，馬上將枱上已擺好的熱茶換成水:)我哋二人叫咗：雞絲粉皮$48蔥油干撈拉麵$38大湯黃魚$68醬燒牛展夾餅$58百頁結烤肉$65冷盤先上。雞絲粉皮，好多時都叫。雞絲，青瓜絲同花生麻醬的比例剛好。粉皮夠滑。味道好。不過好似唔夠凍。只係室溫。之後送上老公的首選，蔥油干撈拉麵。蔥油份量剛好。因為有時會唔夠油，令到啲面太干。干蔥，即炸干了的蔥非常香口，拌面一流。拉面夠al dente. 今次非常滿意。可惜唔記得影相。黃魚湯，比想象中多。是用拉麵碗送上的。而餐牌相中只是用一隻西餐碟上。足夠四人份量。入面有兩條黃魚同類似雪菜的甜菜粒。都幾好味。略嫌太咸。魚肉依然嫩滑。我哋結果食咗1條。而醬燒牛展夾餅係我的至愛。牛展夠淋又有口感。用開邊蒸包夾住食另有一番風味。不過要提下醬汁。係花生醬加蔥。一向都只係微辣。但今次就好辣。見到好多辣椒粒。結果我要將啲辣椒粒全部挑出嚟先食到。食咗以上4樣已經好飽。所以只係食咗一件烤肉。其實係五花腩。炆得入味且夠淋。但我哋只食痩肉部分，肥嘅就舍棄真係好滿足！新店開張仍能保持水準。可惜今次無試到小籠包。下次有機會再試啦…Read More

民華一向是我哋嘅早餐首選之一。但從未為佢寫過食評。襯今日呢個＂特別＂日子，我決定為佢寫第一次食評。10號風球雖然已解除，但8號仍然生效。家附近的餐廳好多都無開，於是打電話到民華碰碰運氣。結果係照常營業:) 真係感謝這些小店在惡劣的天氣情況下依然為巿民服務！雖然落住大雨，我同老公還是決定開車向民華出發！餐廳附近一向難找到車位。今日終於有例外，竟然有幾個咪表位！入到餐廳，明顯比平時少了很多人。4人卡位任選。坐下後馬上照舊：一個早餐$28（牛油多，火腿拼炒蛋，蕃茄牛肉米粉，熱奶茶）另加一份蛋治烘底$13+1 （其實可以一人一份早餐。但我就一向細食。如果食曬食份早餐就一定食唔落午餐。所以唔記得幾時開始，我哋就慣咗share一個早餐另加一份a la carte, 如蛋治，西多等。都好飽𠺢） 熱奶茶先上。茶味濃郁。加上花奶撞得夠滑。都幾ok𠺢！不過要提下，呢度冷氣十足。熱飲好快變凍飲。如果你想餐後慢慢亨受呢杯熱奶茶就最好叫後上嘞。茄牛米隨後奉上。今日嘅湯底非常淍。有濃濃的鮮茄加牛肉味。蕃茄粒同牛肉的份量不少。睇落已非常豐富。食落當然係十分美味啦之後送上牛油多跟火腿炒蛋。呢個係厚多。兩邊都烘到金黃色。每塊都涂上牛油。食落又脆又有牛油香，一個字，正！炒蛋亦夠滑。不過火腿無煎過。我哋通常都將佢浸入啲湯米度食。最後就係我份蛋治。跟上面寫的一樣。厚多烘得脆脆的。中間夾住煎蛋。不過今日啲蛋明顯細份咗。平時足足有成一寸厚！不過，都整得很滑。都好滿足。希望今次只係single case,下次會＂正常＂番啦。唔洗半個鐘，已經完成一餐。因為冷氣太大，唔食快啲，啲嘢好快凍曬。離開餐廳時已停雨。街上依然很清靜。真係同平時好唔同。我哋開開心心回家去了。多謝你嘞，民華！…Read More

剛剛先食完crepe, 但又想食雪糕。既然專程嚟到元朗當然要盡興啦店員好熱心叫我試食。於是試咗芒果，荔枝同紅豆味。結果選了後二者。跟住店員問我要咩size。啉住同老公share1個cone。所以要咗large. 店員又話加$（聽唔清加幾多$）可upgrade to extra large. 我見好多人等緊，就話ok.結果係...好大個雪糕 可惜唔記得影相。講番味道，荔枝味夠清甜但唔夠濃。紅豆味都ok, 不過顏色偏紫，有啲似香芋。至於個cone 太甜。食到尾已要放棄。下次都係要杯裝算嘞。$18.5 都算抵死。不過都係gelato 好味啲。…Read More

Knowing Kitchen M has opened up a cafe just at the lower level from Openrice, we decided to give it a try on a sunny Sat. Went into the shop, and realized it's a pay first type express cafe. I first grabbed a menu and sat down because I needed to wait for my hubby. They only offer coffee, tea, juice, smoothie, soup (only soup of the day), salad, and sandwich. I thought they also offer pasta according to the comments on Openrice I asked the lady if they offer pasta for dinner. But she said all are listed on the menu and no others, like pasta or pizza, except for the daily special, which is lobster sandwich set for now. I was a little disappointed. But she was nicely to offer a cup of water while I was still checking the menu. She also recommended the lobster sandwich, which there were only 2 left. So I asked her to reserved 1 for me We finally ordered the lobster set $169, cesar salad $38, grilled chicken panini $48.Cesar salad came first. It's very fresh and tasted good! But the dried bacon bites were too dried and not crispy at all making them hard to chew.My lobster set finally came, which included lobster soup, potato wedges, and a lobster sandwich. The soup was very rich. And there were lobster meat in it!! The potato wedge was hot but not crispy enough. And it's a bit too salty. Interesting enough, instead of ketchup, mayo dressing was provided as dipping sauce for the wedges. It's time for my lobster sandwich There's quite a lot of lobster meat! And very chunky too The toast was cruchy. Its actually sweet bread that was toasted. But I think baguette is a better choice. Overall, it's is good!Later the grilled chicken panini was served. It's just warm. We prefer hot sandwich. So it'll be better if it could be toasted longer. The chicken was ok. But the yogurt sauce was not too outstanding. The set included a drink, coffee or tea. Had a small group (7 people) gathering at King Ludwig on a weekday. Advanced booked was made in that morning. The reservation was made at 6 pm. But they said we needed to return the table by 8:15 pm Sounds like a busy restaurant.Most of us have been here before except for me. so I had a high expectation on the Pork Knuckle & Sausage Each of us ordered a drink while waiting for one more person. Some ordered beer. Some had non alcoholic drinks, like, OJ, iced coffee. I had OJ. But it didn't taste like to fresh OJ :( I should have tried the smoothie, where I saw most other tables ordered.For the food, we ordered the following: 1. Pork Knuckle2. Sausage Sampler3. Farmer Bread4. Shell Pasta5. Green Salad6. Tomato & Cheese7. Potato SaladIn about 10 minutes, the dishes were served. I meant they were all served at the same time! I was expecting the breads and the salad to come first.So I had to start with the hot food. The sausages were good. I like the cheese sausage (the longest one) the most. Because they were so flavorful & salty, I started to understand why it's better to pair with beer The Pork Knuckle was good. We all like the crispy skin!! It's not fatty and very salty! I guess that's its style. We ended up making one more order The pasta was just ok. It's not the al dente style. The sauce was good though, not too heavy.After a series of strong tasting food, needed to have some refreshing salad. I like the beets very much. But I didn't get a chance to taste the tomato with cheese. They were out so quickly. It's definitely not enough for 7 people Lastly, the breads were great! I tasted them all. I like the pretzel and the farmer bread (the round one) the most. It came with the cheese butter and liver paste. To me, the liver paste is just so so. I prefer the butter spread better. Suddenly craving for american food on a weekday. Have never tried Ruby Tuesday in HK. So decided to give it a try this time. Got there at 6 pm. The resturant was more than half full Most of them were having afternoon tea. I was brought to a table for four. Then the receptionist told me that the table has to be returned at 7:15 pm. That's fine with us. Just having a thought that it is a very popular restaurant!Knowing that they offer american portion, My hubby and I didn't order any appitizers, but just two entrees: Baby Back Ribs (full slab), Colossal Burger and a coke.After a 15 min wait, they were finally served. The ribs were smelling so good, which really brought up my appetite It's really a big portion. It came with two scoops of mashed potato and some vegetables. Tried the first bite... um... I like the BBQ flavor. The rib was tender. But.... to us, it's a bit too soft. Even though you don't have strong teeth you shouldn't have any problem eating it. So, in this case, I think Dan Ryan's makes better ribs. The side dish was good though, especially the mashed potato. I like the buttery flavor and its texture which was not overly mashed. The burger was great! It's Wagu beef, which was very juicy and flavorful And as seen in the picture, it's really really big! Two of us just finished one layer. The fries were just ok. It'll be great if it could be more crispy.Finally, we were too full to try any dessert. 在open rice荃灣區留意到這間標榜正中刀削面的食店，馬上引起我的興趣。話說第一次認識刀削面是在三潘巿灣區的一間北方小館。那時已愛上它。可惜在香港很少這類小店。上次碰到刀削面就在沙田凱逸中餐廳。不過價錢實在太貴。估唔到在荃灣找到一間好味價錢又大眾化的刀削面店。我哋二人叫咗：口水雞拉面+凍奶茶 $44；上湯刀削面 $22；香煎小籠包 $38凍奶茶先上。要求少冰少甜。點知依然非常甜:( 茶味也一般。不過呢個不是重點。面先係...之後送上拉麵。但只見幾條菜而不見口水雞。我就問店員，佢先講＂口水雞另上，隨後上＂既然口水雞未到，就先食拉麵啦。都幾滑, & al dente。至於啲唐生菜，就太淋嘞。而且湯底太咸。口水雞終於到了。不過原來係冷盤。而且都幾辣。於是靈機一動，就將啲雞同青瓜絲浸入啲湯面里。口水雞即刻變暖了及不太辣了 我哋不是麻辣的專家。就不作評價了。不過，咬感方面都可以，不會覺得＂鞋＂。青瓜絲都幾多。當菜食之後就係我碗上湯刀削面。呢個係無肉的。只有幾條唐生菜。不過好可惜，又係過淋。至於刀削面就... 正！無論面的闊度定係煮熟的程度都剛剛好。果然有水准！而且仲大大碗。一碗只賣$22（$28 有一款配料），真係抵食！最後係香煎小籠包。鐵板上，加用蛋煎，精彩啊:)至於味道都可以，不會太咸。小籠包入面無湯，且皮有點過厚。當然不能與＂翡翠＂比。但包底煎得夠脆夠香。$38 10只，都算OK。…Read More

Suddenly want to eat pineapple bun this morning. So think of the lovely Prince Pineapple It's really cute looking. Saint Honore is named as a cake shop, but I like their breads better. I like it not only for the quality but also their creativity, this Prince Pineapple. Remember the first time I tried it, I thought the stocky stem (or the crown) portion was less flavorful. So I ate that part first. But it turned out to be NOT BAD. It's not too thick that may give a starchy texture. And it had a light butter flavor. I follow the same order this time. It's on a sunny Sunday. We decided to go to Sai Kung for brunch. We haven't decided the restaurant on the way to Sai Kung. Because the most import thing is to find a parking first. As Sai Kung is always busy on the weekend.After a 30 min wait, we finally got a parking. There are a few restaurants serving brunch in that area. But we finally picked Jaspas. And we chose the outdoor seating. Looking around, a lot of people brought along their dogs to enjoy brunch here :)Ordered two breakfast sets. Each set comes with toasts and 2 drinks. Yea, 2 drinks. You can have different drinks, like a juice and a coffee. Or you can have the same drink twice, like 2 juices.I ordered the scramble egg and avocado sandwich. And my hubby chose the Egg Benedict with ham and spinach.Orange Juices were served first. It's fresh OJ, where there's a lot of pulps! It's served chilled, which is perfect for the hot day. Yummy!Later, wheat toast was served with 3 different spreads, butter, strawberry jam and the orange jam. I like the variety of spread provided About 15 - 20 min later, our breakfasts were brought in. By the way, it's a popular restaurant. So it's expected that it takes a little longer to prepare the food.The sandwich that I ordered was the Turkish bread, which was a little chewy. It's not easy to cut with the knife provided. It came with a pretty large portion. The avocado was completely covered by the eggs! And interestingly, Hollandaise sauce was also served in a side dish. I tried the first bite without the sauce to see how it tasted. Um, the egg was prepared nicely and not overcooked. Avocado was ripe. The combination was almost perfect. Why not perfect? It should have been salted a bit more. Maybe that's why they are offering the Hollandaise sauce as well. The baby asparagus served on the side was very tender and fresh, which made a very good protein, vitamin and fiber balance. My hubby enjoyed the Egg Benedict as well. I just tried a little. There isn't much choice at 11 am in iSquare. Most shops don't open till 11:30 am or 12 pm. Luckily, this ramen shop opens at 11 am. It's 11:15 am when we got there. There were 3 tables of customer already. We were presented the menu once we sat down. There are only 4 kinds of ramen, which differ in the soup base.We order a Miso soup base and a Pork Bone soup base.Miso soup is rich but not too salty, which is what I like. The ramen is thick noodle. When we ordered, the waitress asked how we like our noodle to be done. I wanted the normal cook, which came out to be just right for me. The chai siu is tender. The pork bone soup ramen tasted good too. My hubby wanted it to be a little under cooked, which was done accordingly. We also ordered a deep fried beef & potato cake to share. 睇openrice post, 小店8pm 休息。到達時已7：50pm. 見有一對外國人正在等。而鋪面一個人都無。只係聽見從廚房傳出啲煮嘢聲。見未有人招呼就同那對外國人閒聊咗幾句。原來店主正為佢哋准備食物。 過咗一陣，終於有位女士從廚房走出嚟問我要什麼。當然係classic burger啦，我同老公就係要嚟試呢個burger等咗10分鐘，店主先送上熱啦啦的薯條。係厚切。一口咬下去，果然係脆卜卜。我哋好満意大概5分鐘后，再送上burger. 打開wrapping, 嘩，都幾大個:) 其中一個我要求加芝士（$5）啲芝士已經熔晒。真係未食都覺得好味。加上啲香味... 開餐嘞！好味喎！牛肉OK，略嫌淡咗啲。個包都可以。唔係麥記果啲包。不過如果可先烤一下就好嘞。入面夾住蕃茄同甜味的酸瓜。無錯，係甜味的酸瓜。我好鐘意 $40 1個burger. 加$15 轉set,有薯條同汽水。決對抵食。我哋會再嚟幫襯𠺢！…Read More

On a hot Friday afternoon, we wanted something refreshing for an afternoon tea. Thought of Holly Brown that we have been wanted to try. It's a busy afternoon - full house. We waited at least 10 min for a table.Ordered the Wildberry Gelato without tasting first. Picked the fruit combination (frozen strawberry, raspberry and blue berry) for $58 (Large Cup) + one additional topping of Brownie at $4 All the ingredients were mixed with the gelato on a cold plate. It's really much like "Cold Stone" in the States.The gelato is so yummy. Together with the fruits, it makes a refreshing dessert. And the Brownie tasted good too. 今早起床突然想食菠蘿包。雖然在家附近都有好味的菠蘿包賣, 但既然今日係星期六又不用番工，老公就建議去遠啲嘅九龍餐室。只因我對上次食的菠蘿油念念不忘本想堂食，但尤於找不到車位，只能外賣。買咗1個菠蘿油，1 個蛋撻同剛剛出爐的墨西哥奶皇包。菠蘿油 - 咬落去，暖暖的，但啲皮就唔似上次堂食咁脆:( 唔通因為個包已出爐一陣子，而擺在面包櫃內太久而焗啉了。這樣就變得普通了。蛋撻 - 酥皮同蛋的比例適中。但蛋味唔夠。似乎蛋汁加了過多水。一輪試食後決定將個墨西哥奶皇包帶回家再食。因為係剛出爐，個包在車上發出陣陣的面包香味。而且個包大大個的。睇得出果層酥皮是脆的...果然無令我失望！薄薄的果層酥皮又香又脆。而且又不會太甜。奶皇餡都可以，也不會太甜。結論係，剛出爐的包是永遠最正嘅 不過就要碰碰運氣嘞。…Read More
