Grand Palace
2019-03-23
lacking flavour, and many dishes coming out cold.veg (lettuce) came out last, after all the rest of the food was finished. insanely greasy dish of lettuce, swimming in oil. completely inedible and how can lettuce take so long to prepare? i would never eat at this restaurant again, because the experience is truly awful. decor and cleanliness is fine, but food-wise this is the worst dim sum i have probably ever eaten.…Read More

Ho Chai Kee Noodle
2017-02-20
$20 bowl of egg noodles with 3 shrimp wontons really hit the spot in this simple but charming noodle shop. The noodles were cooked to the texture I like, really meaty wontons too. Would definitely go here again to try the others noodles on offer. English pictures menu cards outside and in make it easy to order. …Read More

Sixer Burger
2016-08-25
Just had my first sixer burger meal. $104 got me a portobello beef cheeseburger with egg and bavon, plus a soft drink and fries. The meal took 15 minutes to make, everything was a good temperature when I got it so timing was good from the cook. Burger is definitely good quality. They take pride in their work. The bun was fresh, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Lovely! Cheese was nicely melted. Fries were delicious. Again, nicely fried, crispy outside soft inside, perfect seasoning levels. Not a huge portion but is good. We really should not eat too many fries anyway. I'm a big fan of burgers. This one didn't disappoint me at all. Will eat here again if i pass through this area again. …Read More

I've dined out countless times, but this is my first review on openrice. I felt I MUST share the poor experience I had with my wife, her mum and cousin. At 20:10 we ordered a few dishes, including thick cut ox-tongue, roe salad, scallops, udon in soup, beef in sauce, roe-stuffed chicken wings and we were recommended the special's fish dish. We couldn't see the menu board but accepted the recommendation. What a mistake that turned out to be. The food started coming out after about twenty minutes, one dish at a time. we had to wait a lomg time in between each dish, but with all the chatting the wait didn't annoy us greatly. My wife joined us a little late, and so we ordered one additional chicken wing (with are priced at $65 each with service charge), Tongue and scallop for her. The grilled fish that came out was a travesty. Small, would feed only one person as a main, was overcooked and dry, and not that tasty. Oh, one more thing, it had about a bilion tiny bones in it! Being a chinese family, we're well-versed in eating fish witj bones but this was something on another level. It was one of the boniest fish I'd ever eaten, and considering it was dry and small we were all shocked when the price of it turned out to be nearly $970 (with service)! Honestly, I couldn't tell you how disappointed we all were with this meal. $700 / person and we'd had very little food. Everything is Michelin star priced, but far from Michelin star quality. to sum up, ordered food at 20:10 the last dish (chicken wings came at 22:45) 2.5 hours for this meal...food was 2550 for four ppl, no drinks, only the free tea. ox tongue was delicious, everything ele either average taste or poor. Do not assume $200-400 as the guide cost suggests. that only buys you one scallop, chicken wing and rice ball. …Read More
