Wasn’t what we expected
CENSU
2021-10-13
We visited on the night of Mid Autumn Festival, a party of four. Been looking forward to this meal considering how hard it is to book a table on their website, let alone to find out when we arrived at our chosen dining time, the restaurant wasn’t even half packed, throughout our dinner it was the same. So unsure if it’s a tactic to boost their fame or what. My friend chosen their tasting menu for all of us and we also ordered rounds of alcohol. They asked if anyone has any dietary restrictions so I’ve told them that I don’t eat beef. The flow of the dishes being served were a little inconsistent. At times we would have our table full of food, sometimes it took a bit longer in between dishes making us question whether we still had food coming as the server didn’t really inform us much throughout the meal. What bothered me the most is that yes the dishes on the tasting menu are mostly to share, including their Wagyu steak. Kind of pointless to ask guests’s dietary restrictions if you weren’t going to replace or serve a little something for the guest who doesn’t eat beef. In my case when that dish was served, unfortunately I was just sitting there watching my friends eat. Overall that night we spent over HKD4,500 for the whole bill. The food wasn’t exactly amazing or surprising, ingredients seemed fresh but no dish was so remarkable that made any of us feeling the need to come back. The staffs weren’t exactly attentive neither as they were chatting away on their own. Last reminder, be careful when drinking out their glassware as it’s super thin, my friend nearly drank Highball out from a cracked glass. …Read More

The most expensive side of asparaguses ever!
Wagyu Lounge
2016-09-07
My partner and I are frequent diners at this restaurant. Tonight, we decided to bring our friend from Dubai whom is visiting Hong Kong for dinner. We ordered a soup of the day (potato and leek) $70, a Margherita pizza $130, a spaghetti carbonara $120, an order of garlic fat fries $28, a side of grilled asparagus $55, one Sprite $40 and 4 bottles of Peroni beers $140, in total the bill was $509. I must say they do a very good deal throughout the week, besides the usual Happy Hour, they do buy one main get one free deal. Food was the usual standard, nothing worth really complimenting on. However, the service, compared to previous experiences, was horrible tonight.Firstly, the servers don't seem attentive; We asked to have all the food come together because we would like to share everything at the same time. We were seated at one of the high tables which are meant for 2 person, barely had much counter space. When they bought the food to the table, they basically chucked the dishes on the table without trying to reorganize the table; I had the plate of fries literally in front of me, my partner had all the beverages, salt & pepper jars in front of him .etc they also didn't bother giving us any plates for sharing until we asked. Secondly, I cannot believe for $55 we got THREE asparaguses! Knowing that Wagyu Lounge is part of the Castelo Concepts, most of their joints we know they have big portions. When we wanted to reconfirm the portion size for the grilled asparagus, this server spoke to us very rudely and said 'yeah you get only three, it's only a side!?' The fact that we always eat there, we're shocked about her attitude and manners, also of course the 'inconsistent' side portion. All in all, we're quite disappointed with the dinner tonight because we know they're normally better than this!…Read More

THE WORST SERVICE EVER EXPERIENCED IN HONG KONG
Coyote Bar & Grill
2013-10-30
I purposely created this openrice account to express my dissappointment and anger towards Coyote Bar & Grill.3 of us arrived 9ish pm last night, we told a staff we would like a table for 3, for dinner. The staff told us to wait at this bar table, there's this table about to leave. Fair enough, we ordered 3 caronas meanwhile. We waited for almost 10 minutes the beer still haven't came, just when we were about to ask for assistance, the same staff come back and told us to go upstairs, "there's a table for you "for now"" she said. We got upstairs, looked around, there were 3-4 tables empty (we couldn've got seated when we got there). After being seated, again, for 5 minutes, the beers we ordered at first FINALLY arrives after all.We looked at the menu and discussed, then decided to order our food. The real NIGHTMARE started when this staff Arlene A (according to our bill) started serving us.She has some REAL attitude problem. We ended up spending almost $900. We certainly did not go there to eat & get bullied by your grumpiness and bad manners. She does not even have the most basic serving manners and standards. We asked for 3 waters for a start, she only brought one. When we were half way eating, she came over, barely even asked if we were done and just took our unfinished plate. In the end, when we wanted a last round of drinks and the bill, we saw our drinks ready at the bar, but instead of bringing it to us, you can tell she purposely decided to go do the least important things. Such as tidying up some extra utensils on the serving counter, chit chatting with her coworkers with BIG smiles and laughter, cleaning up tables that's been sitting there for like forever. Once she was done with all of that, she finally remembered us, brought our beers over with an impatient face. Of course she forgotten our bill. My friend had to ask, THEN she brought it over. After I have signned the bill, I accidentally taken the wrong credit card receipt. She decided to speak up and try to grab the receipt out of my hand...I will never ever go back to Coyote Bar and Grill. Honestly, their food is very average, unauthentic mexcian food. If it wasn't for the sake of my friend's bother (who just arrived to Hong Kong visiting, thank you Coyote for making it such a "memorable" welcome dinner), who really wanted nachos and somewhere to chill & drink, we wouldn't have decided to give Coyote a try.…Read More

squidcake I can only agree with this review. Waited half an hour on our food just to find out that they actually FORGOT to place the order. Even worse, not a single apology from the staff for this massive blunder.

Nyetnof Squidcake I'm glad someone feels my pain. I'm not saying customers' always right but it seems like they are always right with their behavior and actions. Ignorance doesn't get you more business!

squidcake @Nyetnof: To be fair I should mention that I was convinced by a friend to give Coyote another try. So I've been back there twice since then and both times the service was much, much better.
