Had the Bon Bo Hue And Bun Rieu
Viet Chiu Vietnamese Restaurant
2015-01-28
I had the bon bo hue dining in and I felt it was lacking.  THe noodles are the clear, glass type  adn not the white one originally used.  More importantly the broth tasted plain.  You can taste the lemon grass and spices but... just seemed watery.I did get the bun rieu to go and that was good!  The broth was flavorful, and thick.  Lots of tomatoe and crab meat.…Read More

GOOOOD
Taco Chaca
2012-08-13
I went to school in San Diego where they have great mexican food, also lived in san jose and LA.....This place is the bomb!! I been feening for some GOOD dirty style mexcian food for a long time. I been to taco truck and that place is ok. But this place is the bomb!We hadbulgogi tacopollo tacocarnitas tacocarne asada tacochicken tortilla soupMy fav was probably the carne asada taco and the bublgi tacgo. Carne asada meat was very juicy and tender.... yum. Tortilla soup was no good, tastes as if it's from some can?but the tacos.... I finally found mah taco place. =)Can be pricey though even though its' only like 40$ for an order with two tacos...the portions are small so you can easily eat 6 tacos (3 orders), or 4 orders....and spend 150-200$…Read More

Best PHO and BON BO HUE in HK!
Chôm Chôm
2012-06-27
Okay. I think I found the best PHO in Hong Kong!I'm from California , San Jose to be exact and we have tons of awesome Vietnamese food and I'ven to vietnam before so I've tasted the best of the best and I heard that HK has no good viet food.I found a couple places in Tin Hau but they were inconsistent... Then I heard about CHOM CHOM. Came here with 3 people and we absolutely loved it! I had the BUN BO HUE (spicy beef noodle soup) and it was good! The broth was just right and I could tell that they really cook their broth for hours and use many herbs and spices. Everyone else had the Beef Pho and that was really good as well. They also have a small vase full of mints and basil that you can help yourself with which is what Vietnamese food is about!! In San Jose and Vietnam, they always include a separate plate full of lemon, basil, mints, etc so you can totally throw it into your food, but in HK, at other places, you have to ask for it. And it comes in a very small portion.... then you feel like a pain in the butt if you ask for more. But at CHOM CHOM I can snip as much as I want. (has scissors too)I also had the mint lemon soda which was good, and the owner, Peter let us try his ice cream which was delightful. It was a different type of ice cream because he put some spices/herbs on top such as chili, cinnamon and other stuff.Overall, I found my place for Vietnamese food so when I"m feening for it, I know where to go. And it's in Central so it's close to my work. What a blessing! The owner, Peter is a cool dude too. Interesting person to chat with and he tells us what makes the finest pho and other dishes and he's only interested in making his dishes at the best quality, the original way and better than other restaurants, or he won't do it.So in summary we had:Beef PhoSpicey Beef noodle soup (Bon Bo Hue)Mint lemon SodaVietnamese Coffee (cafe suda) vegatarian spring rollsEveryone loved the food and my cousins also agreed that it's the best PHO in HK.Until next time! I plan on trying the vermecelli dry noodle with veggie/meat dish. …Read More

RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE****
Ebeneezer's Kebabs & Pizzeria
2011-12-29
I first came here 10 years ago when it was ONE location in wanchai, and the kebabs were really good. So whenver I visit HK, I always come here, tell my friends etc. Then 3 years ago, I came to the CENTRAL location after a night of partying and ordered a kebab. It was good as usual, then I found a piece of RED HAIR in my kebab. I took it to the front and a younger indian guy (around 20) , looks at it and says, "That's a womens hair and it's all guys working here."That's it. He didn't replace my kebab or anything. I was pretty pissed off and sent off an email the next day to them. They responded with"Sorry about that. He should replaced the kebab right away"THE END> THat's it! The email didn't even offer me a free kebab!! So I reply with, "Okay, so are you going to take care of me and give me a free kebab for the trouble"NO REPLY. A week later, I email again, . NO REPLY. Then a month later I sent out THIS EMAIL"IT'S A SHAME that once a company gets big and expands to multiple locations , that they forget the customers who brought them there in the first place"What is this I boycotted this place because of this lack of customer service. I can get kebabs somewhere else.... thanks for nothing MR. Ebeneezer. And the food, since I have to write about the food to get this posted.I usually have the lamb kebab, which is #1 on the menu. I like it "spicy" cause it adds an extra kick, and it's not that spicy either. Good stuff, I always came here , and whenver my friends came to visit hong kong, i take them here. Thats right. When they visit Hong Kong, i take them to this indian kebab joint.....not some chinese restaurant. haha.…Read More

Herl1949 Whoops, hit enter too quickly. Anyways, the company does NOT need to give you free food just because you found a hair

Herl1949 in the food. They stated no women work there (or at least with red hair) and apologized because you wrote them a nasty letter. Going and saying "umm, so are you going to like take care of me? Give me some free food or something?"

Food good, but service is no good
Koh Thai
2011-12-28
Food was good but the service was horrible.Got there at 1145am, before the lunch rush and our food came out 45 minutes later! We don't have a 2 hour lunch people! We saw a few people sit down after us and got their food BEFORE us. And they never told us that it would take a bit long or apologize until we asked them. That's the first rule of customer service, at least acknowledge us and tell us what's going on.The food came and that part was good. Or was it the fact that we waited so long, and that made the food taste betterWe had theTom Yum Kung soup - tasted like its supposed to be, thai soupgreen curry with chicken - tasted good, fresh, neck meat - this was prob my favorite.I emailed the management to complain about the long long wait time and he just blew me off saying that "lunch time is a busy hour"- and did not offer to make it up. I replied by telling him we'll go elsewhere for our thai food since we don't have a 2 hour lunch break. …Read More

Pretty good wor!
Hakata Ippudo
2011-12-27
Came here w/ my friend and right when I checked in to get a table, it was convienent. They have a computer where you can put the # of guests, take a # and also leave your cell phone # and an automatic machien will call you when your table is about ready. How nice! My friend told me about this place and how it's super good and packed in New York City but I was delighteed that we only had to wait 3 minutes. It was pretty busy and nice inside, good enviornment. I had the Miso Tonkotsu, and added 10$hk for an egg. I thought it was pretty good, the broth was flavorful and the egg was a typical japanese ramen egg- that being - when you open it, the inside has the yellow yolk that spills out. YUM. It was only $58 too ! What a great price!BUT, i found they were skimpy on the toppings.........my noodles supposed to have bean sprouts, slices of pork, but it seemed to be mostly ramen and soup. Sure there were 2-3 very thin and small pork slices and a few bean sprouts but UGHHH , add a little more will ya If I came back again, I'd definitely have to add more toppings to make up for the lack of reg toppings that come with the bowl. So that would mean more money, so I guess, if I threw in 30$ worth of toppings, it would be nice. That would bring the bill to like 88$. The amount of nooodles n broth was just right, i left feeling satisfied but I wasn't STUFFED, i was about 70% full which is just perfect. We also had this pork in steamed white bun thing, which was pretty good. PROS-good broth, noodles-nice enviornement-convienent getting table/ticket system-good priceCONS-not much toppings that come w/ the noodles…Read More

Haven't had a burger in 1.5 months and ran into this place. I looked at the menu and it has some good stuff! Of course, there's the all american burger w/ cheese. And they have many other flavors too!I just had the regular american burger because I knew I would come back here to try the rest. The burger was tasty, quality meat too! Not' just trash meat like mcdonalds but quality high grade stuff! I'm def. coming back to try the rest of the menu. Also , i've been noticing a few other locations in central and soho, which is great. =) …Read More
