One of the best ramen shops in HK!!
Mengokoro Kunimoto
2024-10-12
Amazing Ramen 🍜, would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have ramen. Broth is very clean and light yet very flavourful and delicious! Love the texture and thickness of the noodles, very hearty soup, and love it’s simple nature and simple toppings. Easily one of my favourite Ramen shops in HK, just hurry and get a bowl here to know how succulent it tastes! …Read More

Nice go to fast pasta meal
Bellyflop
2024-10-12
Nice go to place when you just want a quick pasta/italian food. They serve it piping hot with filling servings and sometimes the pasta is accompanied with a fresh vinaigrette salad. In terms of aunthentic Italian food, of course it’s not very authentic, it lacks that richness and depth in flavour as the pasta feels as a fast food/cafe sua Lott and style of pasta so it will feel lighter and more bland than the normal pasta that you eat in Italian restaurants. Wished that they were more generous on cheese as most of the times, it felt that they were not enough. Also I really wished that they had more drink options, as they only had fruit juice and soft drinks for option, it would have been very attractive to customers if they promoted healthy drinks such as smoothies or iced teas however it seems that mostly they have hot teas. Overall, a good quick meal when you crave for simple Italian food but it’s not very authentic but rather a quickly prepared meal. …Read More

Enjoyable Taiwanese restaurant
Jiu Fen Full (Kai Fu Building, Whampoa Estate)
2024-10-12
Restaurant captures the lovely street vibe of Taiwan. The service is quite fast upon order, which I received in around 10 mins. The noodles and dish itself is rich and has a deep beef flavour, very home like. Not a fan of the tomato base though, expected it to have a savoury and rich tomatoey soup taste however, it was overly sweet for me to enjoy the soup as a whole with the beef chunks and noodles. Will not recommend if you do not like sweet soups, will suggest to order the normal Taiwanese noodle soup. On the other hand, the fried chicken chunks were fried very well! Nicely coated, crunchy and very fresh and juicy. Will recommend anyone to try it with the noodles!! Overall, a very nice Taiwanese restaurant with a good reasonable price …Read More

Overly sweet & not fresh
The Delhi Club
2024-10-12
Had really high expectations for this restaurant esp it being it Chungking mansions, home to a lot of Middle Eastern and Indian restaurants but sadly was quite disappointed. The staff were very kind and friendly however food quality wise, the dishes felt very sweetened, perhaps they had done so to match with the palate and spice tolerance of the HK people? Butter Chicken felt heavily ketchupy and sweet, it lacked that Indian spice and kick that blows you away. Chicken Biryani and Samosa chat was ok, not amazing or memorable, just mediocre. Only thing I really enjoyed and would recommend highly is the Palak Paneer. Very delicious, perfectly spiced and was not sweetened, true to its Indian taste and will recommend to anyone to try it! Hygeine wise, the place had a very funky smell and smelt very old and strange. It did not feel well ventilated so was very stuffy and had a very unpleasing smell. Hope that they can freshen up the place and maintain good hygeine as the smell was too strong upon entering the restaurant Overall, a bit disappointing experience, food did not taste fresh and felt overly sweet, not spicy at all either. The name itself says Delhi Club, so it should live up to its name and make really authentic Indian food, hope they can update their dishes and really stick true to its name! …Read More

Good Nepali Food but with hits and misses
Hello Kitchen
2024-10-12
Good Nepali restaurant to go to but not all foods seem fresh. Steamed momo is slightly bland and watery, hoping it can be improved and be more flavourful and juicy. Otherwise, other momos such as deep fried momos and chili momos were delicious! We also ordered Mix Chowmein, which portion size was very generous but it was on the soggy side, way too many vegetables, so the veggies made the chowmein very wet than crispy, hope that the chowmein can have just the right amount of vegetables and be lightly fried than soggy, that would have made it very deliciousOverall a very good place in terms of budget and affordability but not consistent in terms of taste. Hopefully, the food can be more fresh and have more flavour.…Read More

Trulydeliciousandbeautiful atmosphere
RUAM
2023-09-01
Everything about Ruam is truly mesmerising and memorable. The price is slightly more on the high end, so I would recommend to come during really special occasions. The dishes taste emaculate and authentic. I don’t have anything to complain about. The decor is beautiful with some modern and elegant decor and twist. The ambience is exciting but comforting at the same time. For our dishes, we ordered the dishes that were the most popular which were the pork neck slices, Pad Thai and Shrimp curry which we were really pleased to order.Firstly, the pork slices were really tender and delicate pieces. At first, was a bit skeptical to order as I thought, may not be that special since it’s just meat but I was shocked to see that it truly was so delicious, especially if you have rice dishes, it’s a great compliment. The highlight of the pork neck was that it was oozing with its fat juices which made us salivate and want to keep eating it! Definitely a dish worth remembering!Secondly, we had the popular Pad Thai. It was amazingly mixed with peanuts, bean sprouts and chives. Beautifully decorated with great mixture of bold yet comforting flavours and different textures which made it real fun and enjoyable to eat. The portion was quite generous too, it can be easily shared among 2-3 people. If the pad Thai, is not too spicy to your liking, you could utilise the chili flakes provided on the table which really heightens the taste experience. Personally was my favourite dish from the restaurant as I kept going back to eat it more and moreThirdly, we had the shrimp curry with Roti. It was recommended by the waitress to get it with the roti which was a great idea as the roti was so flakey and delicious. Though the roti is only 2 pieces, so you may need to order more rotis if you are sharing amongst a big group. On the other hand, the shrimp curry was so good, with a hint of sweetness, creaminess and tanginess. One of the best shrimp curries we had!! Definitely order this when you are here!! Overall, a memorable experience in Ruam, definitely looking forward to come again but perhaps for special occasions only as it is quite expensive but worth coming back again for sure!…Read More

Good Nepali food
Ex-Gorkha Restaurant & Bar
2023-07-03
The Nepali dishes here taste authentic to the Nepali culture. The appetisers felt a little underwhelming. We ordered chatpate, samosa chat and pakoda. Would have loved it more if the chatpate was drenched in some gravy as the chatpate was dry, it didn’t feel restaurant quality. The samosa chat was okay, a bit on the heavier side with lots of chickpeas, wished it had more crispier pieces of the samosa to balance the dish. Whereas the pakoda leaned more on the soggy and chunky side, it tasted good but the authentic pakoras are crispy and light in texture, with good marination and spice which this dish sadly lacked. :(As for our main dishes, we ordered pork steamed momos, deep fried pork momos and chilli chicken momos. We also ordered veg chowmein and lamb biryani. The main dishes were excellent, the pork momos were fresh and very juicy, where the chili chicken momos were spicy and tangy just right as the authentic Nepali dishes normally would. The Chwomein was delicious too, tasted like the Nepali street showmen, quite authentic. Loved loved the lamb biryani, it was very flavourful and it’s a dish that you can keep eating more and more. If you are coming here I would suggest the steamed pork momos, chicken chili momos and the lamb biryani, you won’t be disappointed because their flavours are awesome! …Read More

Good Vietnamese and Thai food
THIRTY'S
2023-07-03
Dishes taste delicious and fresh, the sauces were sweet and sour, quite flavourful. The dishes were quite generous in portion and are very filling. The green curry was creamy and delicious, the fried rice was cooked amazingly, crispy and full of flavour which also can be easily shared with a group because of its big portion. Pho was on the light side, felt healthy and light, a bit to the bland side. However the appetisers felt a bit overpriced and the curries though were titled as spicy, had little spice and did not feel spicy enough. Overall, Thirty’s is a good spot when you just want some good Vietnamese/Thai food …Read More
