I wonder why so little review has been made to this restaurant, despite the fact that it is the best gem in the district. May be it is tucked in the backstreet,;may be they dont advertse on fresh seafood extravaganza; may be the atmosphere is not as free and casual as other hotpot shops; may be other Tack Hsin has disreputed this particular one; may be they dont change their menu seasonally...All above is true. but the food and quality of service still brings this shop to a very high postiion in our choice of hotpot. The location of this shop gives it a special aura. The decor is tasteful and comfort to the eyes (may be starting to look a bit aged).In case readers you have a preconception about chain store style food, this shop is DIFFERENT from other Tack Hsin, if you have experienced low quality "all you can eat style" in other shops.This shop also has it, so my recommendation is take the early round (before 9:30).Yet even with this deficiency, this is a shop with a good sense of pride / attitude, and is a demonstration of how 'small' can be beautifully managed (it is a very small shop, max seating 50 ppl). This is our new found favourite. Despite occasional careless service, and despite a swift change of name / chef in the last few months, this place has finally settled down and quietly tucked in at the end of the lane and unassumingly captures passersby for quiet, elegant and good quality dining experience.We have no comments to the 铁板rooms at the back as we have not, and preferred not to try.Otherwise, the shop has high food quality, nice ambience and dedication to good value for money. Such atmosphere is rare but very likeable among the lineup of shops here in Knutsford. (alfresco here is a non-existent thing, instead the few outdoor tables is a place for cig addicts to hang out for a few fags only..)The 池魚薄切 + 赤貝are superb. Wash them down with sake, educate yourself in such unassuming way how basic jap food should taste.The not-so-great dishes are the bargain 小食 (discount for alc drinks). Somehow the meat selection has compromised a bit, that is something that needs improvement.…Read More
