We had a delightful Saturday afternoon meeting friends who had just returned from their extensive business trip across various cities in China. After experiencing the culinary delights of different provinces, they still believed that Cantonese cuisine was the best among all. Jade Garden, a restaurant belonging to the Maxim Group with multiple branches in Hong Kong, lived up to its reputation. The extensive menu, presented in a thick booklet, ensured that every dish we ordered met our expectations in terms of taste and presentation.One noteworthy aspect was their lunch hours, which ended at 3pm. In many other restaurants in Hong Kong, it's common for the staff to start vacuuming the carpet around your table and making loud noises while sorting out cutlery and plates, which can be quite annoying and make guests feel rushed. However, at Jade Garden located in Star House, the staff worked diligently and discreetly. We were able to continue our conversation and stay until almost 4pm without feeling pressured to leave.On the downside, the service was a bit slow, and there weren't many visible servers throughout the entire lunch session. Born Ga has replaced one of our favorite Korean restaurants in HK. We recently discovered Born Ga through a close Korean friend who praised the restaurant for its authenticity and the quality of the food, and she was not wrong. Unfortunately, it turned out to be our least favorite dish of the evening. I had a strong craving for pork liver and decided to search for a place to satisfy my craving. That's when I came across a restaurant called 新大光燈 in TST through Google search. To my delight, it turned out to be a great find! The lady boss or perhaps the manager of the restaurant kindly recommended that I try their mixed pork soup noodles.What caught my attention was the fact that they didn't use beef soup base, unlike many other famous local restaurants that serve pork liver. This was a relief for me because, for religious reasons, I don't consume beef or anything cooked with beef stock. It was reassuring to know that I could enjoy my meal without any concerns.Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed how busy it was. The place was packed, and everyone had to squeeze in and share tables. It was a bustling and lively atmosphere, which added to the overall experience.
