I had lunch at Fook Lam Moon with my colleague and was heading back to the office when we passed this restaurant. Since I just read from a magazine that they serve a very good carrot cake and we were craving from some dessert, we went in to give it a try. I had lunch at Fook Lam Moon with my colleague and was heading back to the office when we passed this restaurant. Since I just read from a magazine that they serve a very good carrot cake and we were craving from some dessert, we went in to give it a try. There were 4 of us and we tried the Carrot Cake, Apple Crumble and Lemon Tart. I have not had Carrot Cake for a long time in HK because I have not tasted any good ones in HK so far. This one is an exception. It is moist, not too sweet or heavy and very fresh - I really like the walnuts inside, it goods really well together with the carrots - very yummy. Then we tried the Apple Crumble, something I always like. I like the fact that the filling inside is made from layers of apples - really good stuff - too bad they didn't have any ice cream to go with it, else it would be perfect. If you like someting light - the Lemon Tart is a pretty good choice. The staff and service is very friendly and place is quite comfortable. The coffee is pretty good as well, not as bland as the stuff at Starbucks. I will definitely go back to try their croissants, scones, pastries and muffins. The staff told me that is made fresh daily from the kitchen inside.
