American food in a nutshell (this sad joke has been around for long time and hey, you just gotta believe this). burger is the national food (since it's been sold every 2 blocks away and regardless what you put in there between the bun); hotdog (not sure what's so doggie about the hotdog) is the true spirit of all sports (since it's being sold in almost every ballpark during the game season); French fries (French people never admitted they ever invent this thing and no one knows what's so "Frenchie" about those fries) are the "energy boost" of each meal (yup, they just gotta have it); and the best part is Tacobell, it considers to be the "fine dinning". TGIF is just another fancy name of Denny's (I think there used to be one around Tai Koo and Jusco) and about the food, I'd say: no thanks. No offense though, the very first time I visited TGIF was more than a decade ago while I was back in high school; and after my second visit a decade later, the conclusion is still the same: it ain't worth it! So while I was reading these comments, it's was like an open invitation to me that saying: is this the best of the worst or the worst of the best or some people need to have their tastebud "tuned". Regardless, American food in Chinese community is just like Chinese food in American community; people making comments on something over entirely different culture base, it's a never settled argument. To make it simple, for those who love it, keep on going there and knock yourself out; for those who hate it, don't go, just like me.
