NVP has opened for, I think, over a month. But whenever I walked past it, there was still a queue. Today we finally made up our mind to give it a try.

We had the "Raw beef and beef ball Pho" ($52) & "Pork Chop w/ Lemongrass Cold Vermicelli" ($48). We each also got a drink as part of the lunch set.

The Pho was served hot, but not piping hot. The first sip of the broth did not leave a deep first impression as it is short of strength and too bland to be authentic. The raw beef and beef ball are ordinary and did not add much to the bowl. The pho is most disappointing as it is clearly overcooked or not "cook to order". I like the onion and basil in the broth but I prefer there be much more.

The Cold Vermicelli did not do better. The sauce to go with the vermicelli is, again, too standard to be memorized. The sides/the green can be offered more generously. The pork chop is already the best considering it is not too dry but I would like it to be fattier.

The coconut drink that I ordered (+$6) is better than the food. The red bean that goes with it is sweet and favourful.

All in all, time will prove that the food in NVP does not warrant a queue. Its price was also set too high in this region. The existence of the queue that due to the lack of direct competitor in the vicinity would end soon if the food quality could not live up with its price.

Other Info. : The seating is way too crowded. Be aware that your elbows will be continuously touched by the people passing.
