When we went inside the restaurant, there are not too many people and we picked the window seat! Arrr...i finally remebered - it was used to be cafe 1882 as it has the nice view facing the kolwoon park!:)
We immediately take a look at the menu and the price point is quite resonable - On average, its around HKD40 to HKD60 per plate (not sure about the portion though) The staffs recommended us to have the wine chicken, stir-fried oysters, dumplings (yes I love dumpings) and 水煮牛肉 ramen as these are the signature dishes! No harm - let's give it a try@
On each table, we found that there are some garlics soaked with vinegar and the staffs recommended to us that it is called sth like "lap bak suen?" (sorry i forgot the name already) I took a bite (dont wanna eat to many and have bad breath) and the garlic is quite crunchy while it matches quite well with the vinegar.:)
The dishes came around 10 mins after the staffs took our order - The wine chicken is very nice while the chicken meat is quite tender. Only we found that it has one problem - the wine sauce is not quite balance on the chicken so that some portion tastes a big stronger and some other part has less taste.
The dumpling tastes ok (not much special as it's just an ordinary dumpling) but the stir fried oyster is CERTAINLY a must try item! The oyster is very juicy and fried together with the chinese onions it is fanastic! when i double checked the price, its around HKD68 per plate and the oysters is fried perfectly with a very fine crispy service!
Lastly, we tried the 水煮牛肉 ramen - For me, the beef is not as spicy as i expected but my friend (who cannot eat too spciy) fines it is quite ok for her. The texture of the noodles is cooked perfectly and I think the noodles itself is very appealing even without serving the beef on top!
We didnt' try dessert this time as we were too FULL but definitely we need to come back next time as the staffs there highly recommend us to taste the desserts as it's made by a very famous chinese dim sum chef in hK! Overall, we are quite happy with the food and service, with this reasonable price - definitely will go back again!
