The last time I was here was 2 years ago. Food together with the price at that time didn't impress me. This time around, however, I was quite satisfied The group of us ordered 3 appetizers to share (Deep-fried soft shell crab with papaya, mango and chili lime dressing; Green papaya and mango salad, and Pomelo and crispy shallots salad). I liked the pomelo salad the most as the pomelo was fresh and sweet and also topped with shallots and peanut pieces. Didn't try the soft shell crab so couldn
The group of us ordered 3 appetizers to share (Deep-fried soft shell crab with papaya, mango and chili lime dressing; Green papaya and mango salad, and Pomelo and crispy shallots salad). I liked the pomelo salad the most as the pomelo was fresh and sweet and also topped with shallots and peanut pieces. Didn't try the soft shell crab so couldn't comment on it, but friends seemed to have enjoyed it.
We then ordered 4 main courses to share, including the lamb rack curry, seafood curry, king prawns, and pan-fried seabass.
- The lamb rack curry came in generous portion. 4 huge pieces, though a bit fatty, were tender and with a slight hint of lamb meat taste without being overpowered by the curry
- Pan-fried seabass also came in generous portion, or 2 thick pieces of fillet. The fish was, again, tender and not dried.
- The seafood curry, by comparison, didn't form as good an impression, although there were several pieces of squid, 1-2 pieces of fish, 1-2 crab meat, 1-2 pieces of shrimps, plus a few pieces of veggie like broccoli and eggplant
- King prawns scored the lowest in terms of the value-worth scale. 3 pieces of prawn but not much meat to consume
Of course, with Thai / Vietnamese food, one bound to consume a lot of salt and get thirsty afterwards, so the rating below doesn't take such fact into consideration.
The restaurant was quite full even on a Monday night, but the service was decent (and didn't kick us out as we remained seated and chatted )
With the Super Monday promo (main course buy 1 get 1 free), the total bill came out to be ~$650. Not bad at all!
