I intended to find some new cafes for a quick workday lunch. Couldn't find the vegetarian one I wanted to go, so I entered this cafe. Wanted to order the avocado toast but it's got sold out. So I ordered a scrambled egg toast ($58 on the lunch set menu) and a cup of cappuccino (+$6 for lunch set).
I wasn't told for how long I would have to wait for my food, so I expected 10-15min would be reasonable for a sandwich and coffee for most Hong Kong restaurants.
At the end, I waited for over 35min (order made at 1.21pm and got the food at 1.57pm). Got the toast finally but I didn't have time to have my lunch because I had to return to my office before 2pm. Because of the Cafe's exceptionally slowness in food preparation, I had to ask for a takeaway box. Got refused twice by the cashier until I reached a girl who seemed to be the manager of the cafe.
Went back to my office and ate at the desk at around 2.05pm, I was wondering what is it so special in the egg toast that it required 35min for the kitchen to prepare it. The toast was not even toasted! It's softer than my pillow! The only answer could be the special secret sauce they sprinkled on the egg coz I could taste a trace of soy sauce (yes 美極). [I reckon the trace of soy sauce is obtained from the frying pan which was used to prepare another dish previously.]
Absolutely not going again.
