To encourage eatery outlets to reduce food waste at source together with customers through offering portioned meals and adopting food waste reduction measures, the Environmental Protection Department has launched the “Food Wise Eateries” Scheme. Participants will be awarded with a Food Wise Eateries (FWE) accreditation status if they comply with the assessment criteria and will be granted with the FWE Logo and Stickers for displaying in the premises and their promotion for public identification. Applications are accepted all year round and are FREE of charge.

To promote a new salt and sugar reduction (RSS) dietary culture and living style to the people of Hong Kong, the Environment and Ecology Bureau, the Committee on Reduction of Salt and Sugar in Food and the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department have launched the "Less-Salt-and-Sugar Restaurants Scheme" ("Scheme"). Restaurants participated in the Scheme will offer less salt or sugar options to the consumer or even tailor-make less salt or sugar dishes in designated restaurants. Participating restaurants will be granted with the Scheme Labels for displaying in the premises for public identification. 週未起身後,忽然心血來潮想喝個懷舊的中午茶,因而選了美心皇宮,門面招待處仍保留穿著傳統旗袍的知客,進去茶樓後,先是映入眼簾的是有點心姐姐手推著懷舊的點心車,車上滿是熱呼呼的點心,水牌上亦有由舊香港年代字體寫著的點心名稱,不禁令人懷愐兒時的時光。甫坐下,眼球已不停掃蕩周遭,是的,在這還是要主動出擊走到點心車查看是否有自己喜的點心,活像尋寶一樣。先是叫了一籠蟹子燒賣,由於肥瘦肉比例適中,口感爽口而不膩,而且每顆燒賣的大小亦沒如某些茶樓般縮水。再叫了一碟龍蝦汁鮮竹卷,熱呼呼的鮮竹卷被龍蝦汁包圍著,味道比平常的更燶更吸引味蕾;接著是鮮蝦菲菜餃,半透明的餃皮看到啖啖蝦肉在內,蝦肉亦爽口彈牙,餃皮厚度適中。最後是不少人愛吃的山竹牛肉,淋上喼汁的牛肉球與微微的陳皮香味是絕配,不消一會,枱面上點心已全被「消滅」。
