Sei's interior was really nice.
Other than the typical set lunches, two fairly uncommon lunch sets caught my eye. They were tobanyaki (beef/pork served on a heated clay plate) and somen (very thin, silky noodles in a hot broth or served cold). I had a tobanyaki at Nobu years ago and didn't find that particularly interesting. To me that clay plate just kept the food warmer for a bit longer than otherwise.I like somen with it's very smooth texture and refreshing taste. But at $270 for just somen & vegetables, I doubt it would be satisfying, even though it would come with a small unagi don. I eventually settled for tempura set and my wife tried their 8 assorted sushi set.
蒸蛋蒸得十分幼滑，值得一讚。但天婦羅寥寥可數，份量小，而炸蝦亦不太新鮮。性價比很低。
飯可能不是日本米。很乾，有點難以下嚥。這質素的米令我想起以前同樣在IFC經營的"禮"。有可能是同一公司。提議換另一款米。
No complaint re: the salad. The steamed egg was smooth and tasty.However, when it comes to the tempura, I must say it's not really up to standard and certainly not value for money.
The two shrimps were not fresh. The Shiitake, small piece of pumpkin and a small slice of sweet potato were fine even though the sizes of those items were petite.
The batter used was not too oily but unfortunately not particularly crunchy.
The rice was quite a disappointment. It was dry and bland. I would have given this a crying face if I only rated this set.
因有頗多日本人在壽司吧頭和一名日本師傅(後知為強調「人溫壽司」的三橋薰さん)談話，對壽司有一定期望。可惜事與願違。用鹽辛魷魚來作壽司具非常奇怪。材料的鮮度整體一般，雕魚更有點泥味。
We next turn our attention to the sushi. We had pretty high hopes as we saw a number of Japanese customers at the sushi counter area and also at the regular tables.
The sushi fared slightly better but the way the sushi rice was kneaded could have been more aesthetically pleasing. Some of the sushi toppings, i.e. "Neta", such as pickled squid, were rather "odd", to say the least. The tai had a bit of soil taste.
My wife gave it a mere pass.
The highlight of the meal was the California roll, which says quite a lot.As a word of encouragement, the service was very good. The staff were all friendly and efficient.
做得最好的是加州卷。
如不是友善侍應的誠意搭救，我可能會給喊臉。
老實說，那管甚麼人溫，室溫，材料新鮮才重要。
