昨天與姨姨到銅鑼灣的感覺 ‧ 素意吃午餐。補祝她的生日。此餐廳只提供純素食物。而且所有食物也沒有五辛。以西方菜式來說,是很難得的。 位於商住大廈之中的餐廳。大廈的電梯是比較舊式的。自動門外是手動推開的鐵門。餐廳門面的裝潢與大廈的陳舊設施形成強烈對比。看門外牆壁上的油漆都剝落了。餐廳大門和大門上的雕花招牌有歐陸風格。還有旁邊那仿煤氣電燈和門上的布簾。要讓客人想像自己進入一間位於歐洲街道上的小餐館。 進入餐廳,旁邊是洗手間。一條窄長走廊旁是廚房。最後是用餐區。 餐廳大約能容納二十人。地方比較小。所以,最好是預約座位。幸好用餐區面對街道。以一塊大玻璃窗裝飾,增加空間感。還可以採光,令餐廳顯得明亮。 餐廳內的裝潢反而不太講究。牆壁是混凝土原樣。有部份是髹上白油漆。地板是深棕色木漆地板。燈飾是簡單的天花燈。餐桌是木製的。呈長方形的二人餐桌。淺木色,配以黑色和白色虛線相間的桌布。椅子則是半靠背木椅配以白色軟墊。下面有布籃給客人放置隨身物品。星期六也有午市套餐,$98。含湯、主菜、飲品及精選甜品。午餐是少有地提供四道菜式。通常只有晚餐才會如此。食物是我和姨姨二人分享食用。 是日餐湯是南瓜薯仔薏米濃湯。 湯的橙色鮮艷。很吸引眼球。 雖然有南瓜和薯仔,但湯的質感不會太稠密。味道是甜的。有一顆顆很大的薏米,口感軟腍。 牛肝菌野菜意大利飯。餐單上介紹是以瑞士進口的材料自家製牛肝菌醬、新鮮本地蔬菜和野菌製成。當中亦含有每天自家製醬料,是使用蘇格蘭製的純素芝士製成。我不知道是否每款意大利飯也有此醬料。只是餐單上是這樣寫的。但我嚐不到芝士味……然而,有牛肝菌的清香味道。整個意大利飯的味道也很濃郁。米飯不會是濕淋淋的。口感接近珍珠米般軟糯。 咖喱芒果配自家製螺肉薄餅。餐單上介紹是以大廚咖喱醬、呂宋香芒、自家製素螺肉和雜椒製成。也有使用蘇格蘭製的純素芝士。以高温石爐烤製薄餅。薄餅是六寸,可加$30改成十寸。另雙倍芝士需多加$10。 我們曾經猶豫要否嚐試這個薄餅。始終咖喱和芒果的搭配對我們來說很新鮮。但姨姨說,既然做到了,味道一定不會差。我們便大膽一試。果然,味道非常好!咖喱有點辣,但也嚐到甜滋滋的味道,很特別又可口。即使辣,我也想繼續進食。然後還吃到軟滑的芒果肉。不過,我沒有印象吃到素螺肉。是因為醬汁和芒果肉太美味了。已被分散了注意力。有甚麼材料也不關心了。薄餅不厚也不薄。口感是微脆。 旁邊有炸番薯片和炸紫薯片點綴。口感香脆可口。 我們都點了熱的即磨豆奶咖啡。咖啡味道不算苦。因為有豆奶的關係。但姨姨不習慣喝沒有甜味的咖啡,所以要向店主要了糖。咖啡雖然不算苦,但濃度不低。口感順滑。豆奶的味道也可以嚐得到。 甜品是巧克力布丁。 巧克力味道不太濃郁。質感也沒有布丁的稠密度。反而是果凍的質感。口感軟滑。但我喜歡味道濃郁和黏稠一點的口感。不是吃素的姨姨說這裡的食物味道很好。只是份量太小。其實是剛好的份量。再多便會太飽了。她後來也說,吃飽後腸胃沒有負擔。不像吃肉般飽膩。但可能會很快感到肚子空空。哈哈!少吃多餐不是比較健康嗎?最後,請注意,此店只收現金。另有加一服務收費。 continue reading

朋友每年生日, 必定會要求在364天肉食的生活之間, 來一點素食地點在銅鑼灣Times Square 附近, 一點都不難找, 當然要有少少google map 的協助會事半功倍找到了大廈, 升降機是傳統設計, 要人手關門的......不過不礙事......室內裝潢有點簡單但精緻, 令人很舒服, 微弱的燈光加上枱上點著的小蠟燭, 有一絲浪漫的感覺枱與枱之間空間不多, 但由於只有6成入座的關係, 所以不會太迫唯是室內的油煙味濃了少少, 與環境有一點點不相襯發現有一枱客是上了年紀的, 大約60-70嵗, 感覺他們好像是只會光顧傳統素食店, 有羅漢齋那一類的......他們都是很優雅, 交談亦不嘈吵, 可能是多年茹素, 舉止都是淡淡的對我而言, 素食是一個選擇, 就像是中菜, 西餐, 泰國菜等等, 現在有多一項 ~ 素菜只有set dinner供選擇點了主食''那不勒斯黑松露野菌薄餅''及''瑞士芝士牛肝菌野菜鍋配法包'', 都是驚喜之作頭盤沙律: 青瓜很翠嫩爽口, 車厘茄多汁, 加上好像是小米的東西, 很特別湯: 應該是甘筍南瓜湯, 甘筍味道佔8成, 不吃南瓜的人應該都可以接受頭盤沙律: 咖哩芝士焗薯蓉餃, 煙煙韌韌的, 不是餃子皮包著薯蓉, 而是用一粒粒的薯蓉不知加了什麼, 令到薯蓉自己變成了餃子, 有心思主菜1: 那不勒斯黑松露野菌薄餅, 未送上枱, 香味已經預先飄了過來, 未吃已經很吸引, 我不知什麼是''那不勒斯'', 只知道所有配料聚在一起就是非常之互相配合, 餅底不太厚, 又不是很薄的會碎開的那種, 餅邊是脆的, 但食落不乾。食了第一片, 立即想再食第二片......重點是**冷了仍然很好食!!! 主菜二: '瑞士芝士牛肝菌野菜鍋配法包, 牛肝菌成了濃湯一樣, 浸著所有配料, 飲了一小口的牛肝菌汁, 令人有衝動一飲而盡, 但理智告訴我, 這是濃汁, 不是濃湯......所以我改為用法包狂點濃汁!!! 配料有兩件''魚'' (我相信是)、大大片豆卜、玉米芯......最後食晒甜品: 外表平平無奇, 都說凡事不可看外表~ 是爽口的, 好像有椰子水在裡面飲品: 豆奶, 質感是濃郁的?! 淡淡的甜味餐牌 continue reading

The Vegvolution Kitchen  name was doing rounds on the couple of social media groups that I'm on, so we decided to give it a go this Saturday evening.For dinner, there's a per person minimum spend of HKD 200, which you'll have no problems meeting, given their small portions and relatively high prices.We went ahead with their vegan pizza entree, that comes as a set, with a soup, salad, and tea or coffee. You can upgrade to get sangrias or wine. We got half & half pizza, which was two mini pizzas - tomato & vegan caviar and the other was kale and fig.At the cost of sounding like a New York snob, a pizza snob, and a bit discerning sometimes, the pizzas were disappointing. They tasted more like fat-breads, if I may, topped with vegan cheese and vegetables, or fruits, in the case of our other choice. And those could've done with some more baking. They tasted doughy to me.The salad that came with it was a vertically, thinly sliced piece of cucumber, rounded for presentation, alongwith exactly two cut pieces of cherry tomatoes, one slice of a baby beetroot, and quinoa with zero seasoning. On the side was tamari-like sauce for it. The plate was very pre-pared as the cucumber looked dry and dehydrated from sitting in the refrigerator for too long.And then there was an overdose of tamari throughout. Like those salad greens. On our fig pizza, on the side for the vegan pepperoni burger that I ordered. WIth the eggplant tempura. Bleh! Where's the variety?The soup was home-style carrot tomato, which was simple and decent. Topped with vegan butter / cream and sprinkled with herbs. Came with a piece of bread that was slightly toasted.The burger tasted good, including the light bun. And the eggplant tempura was great too, slightly underseasoned, but crispy, crunchy on the outside and a very soft and melt-in-mouth texture inside.The closing dessert of the set was a coffee pudding, served in a disposable plastic cup with a disposable plastic spoon! Which went on to tell that it may have been sourced from somewhere else. But they could've been greener with it, still?The house white that we ordered with the set was a very sweet white, and at $60, a very small pour.My overall opinion - high prices, disappointing tastes. And pizza snobs, don't even bother. continue reading
