Friends came here again for Birthday of two of my friendsWe have a crowd of 12+, ordered loads of food, including:salmon ceasar salad: it was great, dressing was just right, not being over/under dressed nachos: hot and yummy with cheese on top, it was great! :)chips with dips: crispy chips was my fav, loved it!!! :)peanuts were served when we arrive, we ordered drinks as well, it was alright. Only thing is that the peanut shell were everywhere on the floor, :( I know it being one of their / or other food stores' so called "tradition",the entire floor of the restaurant was covered with peanut shells, I did't like it at all... :(The other food we ordered were nicely cooked, amongst those shown below, we also ordered carbonara pasta (three times!) and it tasted really good, which i must mention it here! Food was generally very well, I'm a bit surprised, as I came here not too long ago and I didn't expect much this time, however, I was happy with the food I must say! :)Not so nice was the environment, we were given a long table with stools, not really good for a birthday, but theres nothing we could do, and I doubt they have other tables available..Well but we were very lucky to have the stools, otherwise our feet might be soaking wet, because for no reason at all the floor became wet (maybe dripping or bucket of water spilled, I dont know) and it went uncontrollably wet, we were not given any explanation at all to the wetness of the floor, it went so bad that the area we sat literally flooded.. no joke, I can show you my pictures..Proven. I really hoped my second visit could be better than last time, well the food certainly was better, no fish scale at all (we didn't order fish anyway), but look at it.. I don't understand how can this escalate into a flood and almost a pond. I was quite surprised we weren't drowned half-way the dinner. We didn't complain as it seems a bit out of control and we carried on with our dinner. My mates couldn't stand it at some point and started complaining when they saw waitresses throwing napkins all over the floor and trying to dry the floor... outrageous. Came here for lunch the first time with a bunch of friends, around 10 of us :)Have been working in Central for a year or so but still searching for new places for lunch, I frequently walk pass this hk brewhouse cos the lunch menu isnt particularly attractive, but since some of my friends recommended it so we thought we'll just give it a go we ordered set lunch, they serve steak, fish, pork chop, sausages, the normal stuff you'd expect on a lunch menu in the LKF area. Price is alright, in the range of 100-180 per head, 2 course.Appetizers were either Pasta Salad or Soup of the day, but they said they ran out of pasta salad, fine, Bread was served before the arrival of the pumpkin soup, it was served warm, brilliant. Each of us had one, then my mate couldnt finished hers and chucked on my plate for photo with my soup, i was crossed, but fine....! Service was okay, they took our orders cheerfully, soup was very creamy and tasty, but it was served only slightly warm, it would be better if they were served hot. Entrees came a bit late (took them around 25mins after the soup arrived), but its fine i mean we mates can do some chit chat, but its Central lunch time... everyones in a hurry! :(After some time, entrees finally arrived, I ordered a baked Sea bass with chips. Chips was crispy and hot, loved it. :) I tried my seabass, it was thin and soggy, a bit salty and soaked with oil :( i wished it could redeem itself with some crispy skin, and it failed -quite badly- the skin was crunchy, cos of the fish scale... i couldn't believe it. I didnt try the steak myself but my mates said it was too oily as well.. It was even a bit more disappointing when i realise this restaurant belongs to a well-known catering group. The food tells you that you are not at a bar!This Bar/Restaurant is one of my favourite hot spot for dinner/pre-night out. More importantly, it shows sport channels, such as football, tennis and rugby! It is also the only bar in Hong Kong to serve a draft pint of London Pride and Organic Honey Dew on tap.It has two levels, enjoy the brews, burgers, steak while watches a game of football round the year, perfect place for a small gathering! 當天有點事要辦，要到中環一趟，與小弟同到中環去到達時剛好中午時分，一般餐廳早就被上班族完全的佔領，走著想，就想起之前食過的這家餐廳，看他有空位，就頭也不回的進去了，為免再在這酷熱的街道上走來走去被侍應帶到餐廳的地下一樓坐下，燈光有點過於昏暗，但整體環境氣氛都還可以。接過餐牌，看見當天的的set lunch，都是些牛扒，豬扒，感覺好像茶餐廳的菜色，沒什麽興趣再看看正價餐牌，看到有個圖片還不錯，就點了一份，叫 Brooklyn Reuben。而同行的人就點了一個classic burger，令加煙肉，cheese， 蘑菇。先來的是例湯，海鮮紅湯，腥味很重，有不夠味道，腥腥淡淡的，有點不太想喝。再等沒多久就上菜，Brooklyn Reuben 由兩片烘過的面包，夾着切片的咸牛肉 煙火雞 和 cheese， 中間還有一點像德國酸菜的菜，配上含有酸瓜的千島醬，一口咬下去，不會覺得太膩，但味道卻很豐富，咸咸的肉，cheese濃郁的奶香，還有酸酸甜甜的醬，感覺層次鮮明，讓人忍不住一口接一口的吃。唯一的問題，就是他內餡放久了，會弄濕面包，把麵包弄得車欠了。 配的薯條有特殊的coating，比一般快餐聽裡賣的香。漢堡配料沒什麽值得介紹的，但漢堡肉做的還不錯，多汁又夠厚實，足1/2磅重，除了薯條還有洋蔥圈，也是不錯，炸過還保留着大量的水份在裡面。…Read More

五月二十日 (星期五)不經不覺已經到了我的last day了多謝六月同事幫我organise 的farewell lunch呢當日有廿多位同事比面出席,多謝選擇了這家西餐廳,上次吃的是舊鋪(老公仔也在這做farewell lunch呢)希望水準都保持著呢由於太多人,分開了兩邊點我們點了carbonara,焗薯皮,雞肉pizza,salad,雞翼等等Carbonara水準比較一般,雖然很creamy,但是磨菇味道太重了焗薯皮是推介小吃,上面有點beacon,很有口感和香脆雞翼就比較辣了,但雞肉頗嫩滑這裡的pizza也是必叫的切成方形,而且很香脆,不覺油膩整個午餐都忙於和各同事說說笑笑食物的質素真的沒很用心去鑽研不過可以肯定的,是新店與舊店的食物質素無異多謝大家三年半來的照料和提點!Keep in touch (& eat)!請繼續睇我的食評!…Read More

總算在蘭桂坊打滾十多年,昔日那種型格老早成為歷史,自由行也來潮聖,完全影響整個蘭桂坊的自然生態,什麼也好,一"遊客化"就出事,尤其是政府開放"強國"自由行之後.....唉,我很懷念二十出頭之時,老蘭盡是型人靚人之蒲點.你說港英年代,多好?那座"加州"拆卸之後,整個老蘭好像"洗牌"一樣,LKF Tower的Hong Kong Brew House,變成滾石之強勢回歸,原有的Hong Kong Brew House,搬到去昔日Kyoto Joe之位置,至於Kyoto Joe,就搬上當年意大利餐廳"Baci"所在的大廈內.Hong Kong Brew House搬竇之後,也沒有來過落花生,這個晚上與幾位朋友參與一個興趣班,時間還早,大家便先來喝兩杯.面積比舊店的大,地下之外還有地庫.這間酒吧之最大特色,是可隨處掉花生殼,新店則不能這樣做,花生還是有,但花生殼只能放在另外的空籃之內.啤酒選擇仍舊多選擇,最大亮點是有倫敦的Fuller生啤供應,除London Pride之外,更有Honey Dew.以我所知,香港沒有太多地方可喝到Fuller的生啤,大多只得樽裝啤.其他生啤也有"梅菲","盧雲堡","好加頓".Fuller的Honey Dew標榜"有機",聽說得到一些啤酒評家很高評價,此樽裝啤不難在高級超市找到,果然此Honey Dew帶有香甜的蜜糖味,亦不失啤酒花之香,挺有層次,啤酒質感清爽怡人.在歡樂時光來喝有折頭,非常抵飲.一邊剝花生,一邊閒談,一杯啤酒當然不夠,另外來多杯London Pride,樽裝的London Pride我不時買回家中喝,生啤是第一次喝.這杯"倫敦自豪",麥味香,味道帶苦,沒有太多泡沫,口感同樣地清爽.其他朋友也跟我喝"富拿蜜蜂",另外的友人K先生,要一支比利時啤酒"Kwak",此啤酒配以長型的漏斗型狀酒杯,是此啤酒之一大特色.當幾個麻甩聚首高談闊論之同時,心裏還是懷念上一次到舊店,與她共度的歡樂時光.妳是如此地難以忘記,這一刻心情如手中啤酒內的氣泡,浮浮沉沉地在我心底.…Read More

本來打算去對面的西餐廳，上次吃過不錯，很用心，但是今天客滿了，就試一下這一家，有兩層，座位夠多。我們被安排坐在basement，好事一浪接一浪:1. 第一波: 清新撲鼻的廁所香味。已經不是坐在最近廁所的位子, 還沒打開餐牌胃口已經減半 :(2. 第二波: 中式湯?! 一開始大家都估是冬瓜盅... 結果是西芹+薯仔? 雖然一點都不熱, 味道倒是(比較起來)還可以接受...3. 第三波: (打大佬) 我和朋友剛好一起點了 philly cheesesteak sandwich, 簡直是咸到吃不下去, "傑 tart tart", 我們嘗試用配在碟上的thousand island sauce(?)和加大量ketchup蓋一下, 簡直是 mission impossible, overridingly salty.... 最後連平時一粒米都不會留低的友人居然吃剩了大半碟...好吧, 薯條是合格的, 檸茶有檸味, Stella Artois有Stella Artois的啤酒味, 跟waiter反映過以後他的態度也不算差(他說會反映一下).... 但是總括來言, 這個地段, 這個價位, 還要是同Grappa's 同一集團的... 不會再來吧.…Read More

這日 看看手機內的照片發現 我欠下很多食評債要開始還債了平安夜和友人參與了公司的自助餐晚會在之後我們都想找個地方好好的聊聊天一出港鐵站就玩人流管制 [上年來的時間比較早 所以避過了這遊戲]結果排了上小時:(入返正題初時還已為這間Hong Kong Brew House結業了[舊鋪:http://www.openrice.com/restaurant/sr2.htm?shopid=13229]結果原來是移了一個角位 並沒有結業呢今次除了花生外沒有嘗到其他食物花生相信沒什麼好評的吧只能說不差呢不過這間的食物係未裝修之前也不錯的相信不會於裝修後變差了的吧因不想喝大杯啤酒整到作嘔所以點了一杯cocktail(crazy island)朋友也點了杯同樣的是杯long drink有點像藍色版的long island酒的話 也沒什麼好評的話那就叫作酒評了-環境方面我們當日坐在地下那層比起其他吧較靜呢最小 能坐下閒聊地庫那一層嘛很黑 也比較嘈吵 有種落club的感覺-服務方面這邊的waitress很有禮貌 也夠主動呢其實呢 我與友人原本打算在雲咸街某俄國餐廳好好的聊天喝酒但呢 不知是否我們好像於當天消費不夠多 或是waiter比較忙呢 所以有種在受氣的感覺所以移來這 繼續聊天當天借著小小醉意 借著花生發泄 狠狠的飛花生落地下 大大聲說話 把煩惱都通通飛走了雖然失儀了 但這發泄方法真的不錯於2月初便飛去東京前應該會再來一次看情況再補下詳細的食評吧不然 食評債就在開飯遊蹤處慢慢還吧…Read More
