Went for a Friday tête-à-tête with my dining companion. This little cafe located in Soho was incredibly noisy; perhaps due to the tables being too close together. The bread was disappointingly cold and hard, not to the point of being stale but not appetizing. 
Overall the food was too savory; the foie gras on crisp bread cushioned with apples was rich but chef was too heavy handed with the salt. Same problem with the escargots baked in garlic butter. The mushroom soup was creamy with a touch of truffle oil. 
Then an inexplicably long wait for the main courses and we were nearly running late for our movie. It appeared that we were not the only ones waiting for our food - was there an accident in the kitchens?? 
The bouillabaisse came after repeated reminders; it was good in a surf and turf sense - not forgetting that this course was a mélange originating from fishermen gathering the leftovers of a day's catch as dinner. The seafood (mussels, oysters, fish) were fresh and we liked the chewy fish skin (collagen! collagen!). The duck confit was fatty as it should be, the potatoes were good but the string beans were - you got it - way too salty. 
The service was satisfactory - the staff were genuinely apologetic about the non-appearance of the food, though not of much practical use. If not for the discount from the AE card, this meal would be over 450 per head which is way too pricey. Now it was $244 each - I could swallow that.

Every food n drink are great, we're enjoy with the food.About service, staff are a bit rude, not really in standard for this certain price range. they aren't doing anything wrong but just you cannot be feel relax and be serving. if this manner happen in McDonald, which is completly fine.

Then came the main, I had the US grilled pork chop. It was a huge pork chop, very thick and had the lovely grilled marks on it. The pork chop was grilled on the mark, as it very tender and juicy, didn’t need any sauces to go with it. The side cabbage was also a good compliment to the porkchop.

They also serve a small choco cake for dessert. The choco cake was moist and the choco taste was strong. Didn’t know what is the mousse on top of the choco cake though, it was abit sour, balancing out the sweetness of the choco cake. Had an iced tea to finish off this good value lunch.

至於主菜方面,朋友高度推介這裡的牛扒,餐牌上見到的只有烤安格斯西冷牛,但喜吃牛扒的我當然也想試一下。選了五成熟,猶如期望中一樣,端上來已聞到香氣撲鼻,他們選擇窄身厚切,經烤燒後的西冷肉質韌彈而一點也不粗糙,含油花且牛味濃郁,以這個價錢來說,實屬上好的質素。

We arrived at 6:00pm and the we were the first table during dinner time. The atmosphere is nice and romantic. The design of restaurant feels like the "Bistro in Paris". Through out the dinner, they played some classic romantic love songs which was great!

The waitress was very helpful in recommending the special meun(not pushy) and determine wether the food we ordered would be too much for both of us. Once we placed order, I heard the manager told the waitress which course go first, so that we would not have all the food on the table at once
Thoughout the dinner, they cleaned up the dirty plates fast and keep on refilling water without us asking!

First one was Foie Gras with apple & little greens.(7/10)
The Foie Gras was smooth and soft as it melted in the mouth. Yet, I think the Foie Gras can seared for another 30s to make the surface crispier. The apple cubes under with a sour taste which made the foie gras less heavy as an appetizer.

Second appetizer was the lobster soup.(8/10) It was on the special menu which you may ask the waitress what is tonight special. They were more than happy to tell you!
They split this one portion of lobster soup into 2, so both of us could taste it without dividing the portion by ourselves.
The soup is very rich in lobster taste. I could tell they may have granted some lobster shell and put into the soup. Still it was smooth and creamy. Just a bit disappointed when we found that was only a shrimp not actual lobster meat in the soup, but still...with GREAT taste.

We ordered 2 main courses.(Sorry that the photos are too blur, so I decided not to upload)
First main was the Bouillabaisse ( A fish soup).(9/10)
The borth was amazing with rich ocean taste and full of sweetness of seafood. It was served in a pot with bread. They had lots of seafood in this broth, e.g. Seabass, mussels, clams, shrimps. Really a recommend this if you are a fan of seafood!

Our second main was Duck Confit.(7.5/10) It was a perserved duck drum-stick. The skin was crisped and the meat was very moisted. It tasted satly but with the kind of aroma that last a while in your mouth. Similar to chinese Jinhua Ham. It really depends do you like perserved meat.

And our dessert was Chocolate Lava Cake. (10/10) It was the best chocolate lava cake I ever tasted! This was on the special menu of the night. The outer shell of the cake baked perfectly. It was crispy and tasted super good with the chocolate lava inside. Together with the vanilla ice-cream, it totally melted when you tasted it. It didn't taste very sweet but with high concentraction of cocoa. ( but no bitter or sour taste). Really hope that they could add this to their regular menu.

1) (4分) 沙律是粟米吞拿魚蔬菜沙律, 粟米同吞拿魚份量不太多, 但已提升整個沙律的美味指數;

Starter

The starter was a salad with various greens and egg/tuna mix, which was like a mini version of niscoise salad.  It was light and quite refreshing.

Our waiter told us the soup of the day was a cream of tomato soup, but when it arrived it turned out to be a pumpkin soup.  Anyway it was fine with us and the soup was ok. 

Main
We both chose the fish as the main.  It was a large piece of fish fillet (can't remember
the fish name) which tasted fresh but I found the flesh a bit tough.  The mashed potatoes and the ratatouille on the side were quite ordinary without much flavour. 

Dessert and Tea/Coffee
Dessert was a nice little surprise - the mini cheesecake was creamy with a light chocolate flavour.  It was just the right size to end a relatively big lunch.  I didn't want caffeine so opted for a hot lemon honey, which accompanied well with the cheesse cake. 

Compared to other restaurants in Soho, a 4 course lunch with tea/coffee for $108 is pretty good value.  Hope they can improve on the food quality to attract more popularity!

A meal from long long time ago. "Cafe de Paris" is still one of my favorite French estaurant in Central.Entree - who can resist the "Pan-fried forie gras"? Especially it tasted good with the crisoy toast."Fish in lemon sauce with new potatoes" - The size was larger than I expected. Tastes quite lady-liked, refreshing and not heavy. 這次真的是「微微雨在撲」,因為是在沒有帶雨傘下趕到「Cafe de Paris」,與友人吃法國菜。「法式洋蔥湯」$78在本地很難找到好吃的洋蔥湯,這裡是做得不錯,味道夠 rich,料亦夠多「火腿伴煎帶子番紅花汁」$138作為前菜,味道夠清新,帶子肉也鮮。「原條牛油煎魚伴新薯」$198整體來說食物味道是不錯吃,服務也佳,不枉我「徒手擋雨」地捍衞自己個髮型來吃這餐!

當天的餐湯是南瓜湯,蛋黃的色澤,添上翠綠的香草碎,再澆上一圈橄欖油,柔和亮潤,隱約透出南瓜的清純味道。不過老公嫌它的味道不夠濃厚,但如果意圖增加湯味和減輕成本,特意要利用過量的上湯摻進餐湯的話,我寧品嚐南瓜原有的天然鮮味,若然能取得鮮味與食味兩者的平衡是最理想的。

假如不喜歡當天的餐湯,可考慮多加 38元提升至洋蔥湯或扁豆湯。

我選了108元的 Set Lunch,除 Penne Pasta with Chicken Meat Ball,當中還有紐西蘭 Sirloin 牛扒 和三文魚扒的選擇。我很少選擇 Penne Pasta 作主菜,但這次卻意外地令我感到非常滿意。最出色的是 Porcini Cream Sauce,醬汁本身香氣不俗,質感 Creamy 而不帶膩意,與雜菌及煙韌富彈性的 Pene Pasta 匹配得很。

老公挑了228元的 Set Lunch,安格斯牛扒是他的首選,當天還有鴨腿、整條的 Sole 魚和青口。

我將牛扒切開兩小塊,但發現牛扒過熟了,不符合老公要求的 Medium Rare,正當老公與我在細細研究之際,外籍侍應馬上過來查看,不到三秒,男經理也過來了,他馬上主動替我們更換,對於經理及侍應的迅速反應與及認真有禮的待客之道,我們反過來覺得有點不好意思!

這次的熟度對辦了,切開露出鮮紅的搶眼肉色, 外籍侍應也立即過來跟進,服務態度相當認真!雖不是五、六百元一塊的牛扖,但香氣、肉味與肉質均能達到物有所值的水平。唯略嫌鹹度差一點點,多放少許海鹽便可以了。喜歡牛油的朋友,可蘸上一點點 CDP Butter,再為牛扒添上一份油潤與香草氣味。

看到這個充滿動感的巴黎鐵塔,心好像已飛往巴黎那般興奮!

路是人走出來的,這趟更讓我們走進了 "巴黎",還享用了一頓滿意的 Set Lunch,真不枉此行。同時也為沒有錯過 Soho 這家老字號,而感到雀躍!

Absolutely diabolical service. We walked in to find an empty restaurant (a couple were just leaving). We were placed on the worlds smallest table right at the back near the toilet. The waiting staff (2 of them), had absolutely no idea what they were doing. When asked if she could recommend a Bordeaux she said 'no' and walked off (Not sure why, we were the only two customers!). Then we tried to order, the boy (he looked no more than 17 and was obviously very new) tried to take the order but it became very labourious, he even asked how i would like the fish done, and offered my friends steak done medium red! The girl took over, but even she could not get 2 starters and 2 main courses correct without confirming 3 or 4 times. It was a table of 2 not 12!!, and the only table occupied! Eventually they turned around for a conflab about the orders, spoke to each other by the till for 2-3 minutes, then came back to take the order together. The will to live was slowly draining from two hungry bodies trust me. We poured ourselves another glass of wine (yep, we had to pour our own until it was gone). The starters arrived, my onion soup has a slice of processed cheese over the top and the onion hunt inside was pretty unsuccesful. The mains took an eternity, i think the order went in wrong! When they finally arrived my plate was so hot you could have gotten 3rd degree burns had you touched it, but there was no warning of this from the boy. (The girl had sort of given up by now and was playing the lazy manager role of watching his every move from 8ft away, glaring at him every 5 seconds, poor lad.). . The fish itself had certainly not taken its last breath that week, but by now the whole meal was a complete calamity, so i just left it after eating half and wondering if i would spend the night doubled over the toilet, no one asked why i left half, although i am sure they could smell why. We declined coffee and desserts and the bill was presented in double quick time. I wish i had something nice to say, just one thing but it was a big fat 0 out of 10 for everything, it was that bad that we laughed outside wondering if it had really just happened. During our visit just five other diners came in, on two tables and to say the 2 staff were struggling would be doing them a credit, they were awful. We even suggested to the girl how to improve a couple of things but she just laughed without a care in the world. Shame really because the place looks good, but unfortunately thats where it ends. . . Never again.

星期六覓食時間我們來到蘇豪伊利近街。這店子在伊利近街尾,所以即使在蘇豪用餐很多次,也沒有留意此食店!!Set Lunch包括soup, salad, main course, dessert, tea/coffee,比一般餐廳豐富,而且味道更有驚喜!餐廳頗有情調,周圍是用酒樽作裝飾,而且很喜歡牆身用的burgundy色!Crab meat salad 很新鮮,crab meat份量足,食起來很 refreshing Giner and potato soup很特別,giner味喝起來很醒神,辣度調較得剛好,令本來heavy的potato soup 輕盈不少! Main我點了Fish skewers,presentation令人食指大動,用上的蔬菜很新鮮,cherry tomatoes尤其鮮甜。魚肉質嫩滑,但略嫌鬆散,肉質比較淋,而且調味有點不足男友點了牛扒with fries,他說肉味濃郁,不太好牛扒(肉味重)的我試了一口,果真夠肉味。還是待懂欣賞牛扒的男友消滅它。
