In the neighborhood and Grumpy suggested trying this relatively “new” bistro. Nice to see a friendly face- Manager who used to be at Peninsula.A very basic by the glass selection. Went for a glass of white. Here’s what we had.Bread “basket”. Wobbly Dish was the worst design ever! My fat fingers must have tipped the dish over a few times. Friendly manager replaced our bread the first time but after that just told him not to bother. French White Anchovies & Tomato Salad with crispy capers and croutonsFlammekueche (Tarte Flambée) from Alsace, ie a thin sheet of unleavened dough spread generously with crème fraîche, sprinkled with slivered onions and bacon.French Onion Soup made with rich beef broth, topped with cheese croutonsCream of brochili soup Steamed mussels served with creamy white wine sauce with garlic and herbs. French fries and salad on the side.Grilled Lamb Chops served with French beans, bacon, button onions, sweet garlic and rosemary sauce. A bit too salty.Stew of Lobster with assorted vegetables eg Savoy cabbage, barley, potatoes. Braised beef cheek and ox tongue, served with herbs salad and twice baked potatoes.U.S. Dry-aged Beef cheese Burger withbacon. French fries and salad on the side. 為探望居於深山嘅外星人Uncle,XO仔就充當柴可夫,帶領長輩六人潛入新界一日遊,晚餐應眾人要求一試沙田馬會間「Bistro Canter」。會員於會所餐廳用膳可免費泊車,不過遇上暑假裝修期間,六點過後原來都唔易搵位。七人用餐早已訂座,但意外地,車場滿滿時餐室卻吉空無客,細佬可任影唔嬲。店子啡啡綠綠嘅裝潢極富英倫風。用餐大堂格調輕鬆且開揚清爽,雲石餐桌配上半梳化式嘅厚墊椅櫈及木地板,企理衛生。每位席上都擺有齊備嘅自用餐具。一頁餐牌只有英文版。是日精選項目由服務生親自解說,包括是日忌廉蘑菇湯及新鮮生蠔款式,另重點推介為接待處黑板上寫出嘅鱸魚主菜。點好菜,哥哥仔先呈上麵包籃。哥哥真係心水清,見到包品內含果仁,即提點細佬唔可以食,揸車責任重大!其實大肥爸爸訂位時早已提及用餐者有人對果仁敏感,幸好哥哥發現得早,服務生亦即時交帶廚房要加以留神。之後上嘅無果仁甜麵包皮脆包鬆軟,可口味佳。Foie Gras & Chicken Liver Parfait($128):以鵝肝及雞肝造出嘅孖肝醬鮮濃柔潤,淨食會較溜,建議最少四人分黎食。連同伴配嘅紅蔥果醬塗上甜麵包多士上可有效地減輕膩滯感,頭盤香脆甜美。Steak Tartare($168):用大大條牛骨承載嘅牛肉他他賣相吸精,撈入鮮黃亮麗嘅鵪鶉蛋雖成功為他他質感倍添滑溜,可惜他他本身切得唔夠幼嫩,食落帶韌,調味又過咸,請恕小弟未能推介。French Onion Soup($108):呈深啡色嘅法式洋蔥湯內含勁量級嘅洋蔥,無奈過多反令湯品杰得黎仲超咸,中間大大件芝士及浸腍咗嘅麵包都難以索解過份濃郁嘅咸味,邊食邊飲水都起唔到中和作用!Mediterranean Paella($508 for two):二人份量嘅地中海鐵鍋飯內含蝦蝦、八爪魚、鱸魚肉、蜆隻及青口,相當足料,當中以肥潤嘅八爪魚肉最為爽脆,啲蜆同魚肉就有啲腥,青口仲粉粉霉霉,直令墊底已經好咸嘅飯飯都腥埋一份,唧上多啲檸檬汁都唔係好辟到陣腥味。Confit Duck Leg($268):或許已經預咗油封鴨腿會重口味,反而覺得其咸香可以接受得到,個人只係嫌鴨皮油腍不脆,乾乾嚡嚡嘅鴨肉毫不軟潤,唔係咁掂!Crème Brûlée($88):由於多款頭盤及主菜實在太重口味,揸長途車前點都想甜返吓個口,所以就叫咗個大路啲嘅焦糖燉蛋。甜品頂面層焦糖脆卜卜,燉蛋綿滑得黎又唔會太甜,令口腔腸胃都舒服返唔少。馬會西餐廳「Bistro Canter」環境優雅大方,服務生溫文有禮,亦樂於助人,唯獨廚房灑鹽過份重手,絕大部份菜式勁咸,飯後真心覺得自己好似血壓飆升,席上嘅幾位會員都話唔會返轉頭囉! continue reading

今日跟家人來到這裡,簡單的3人西式晚餐。這裡重新裝修之後也曾經來過,我記得當時牛扒主菜是200多元,現在已經要400多元,加價誇張一來到侍應就推介生蠔,但這天腸胃不太好,就叫了焗蠔焗蠔味道有兩款:芝士焗及煙肉焗味道適中,煙肉香脆,芝士可口,蠔身也鮮味我總是覺得餐廳是用賣不出去的生蠔來做lol主菜叫了一個羊,一個牛,一個豬牛忘記拍照了總括來說她的生熟程度掌握得很好,我們要的medium rare也非常完美份量也很足夠,尤其滿意羊架,有三件大件的水準跟以往差不多,很好,對得住價錢 continue reading

首先,我最推薦係Steak Tartare,生牛肉塔,佢係將生牛肉碎混合其他配菜再加蛋黃,再配脆片黎食。生牛肉既軟身,再配搭脆片,一軟一硬,口感好好,而佢生牛肉入面既配菜亦都令人好開胃。另外我地仲叫左個法式蝸牛 Escargots做前菜,入面就有淡淡既蒜香味,都唔錯。我既主菜係Bouillabaisse,呢個都唔錯既,一開始都覺得佢份量比較少,不過食左三款前菜,所以都差唔多,而且海鮮比較飽肚,而呢個魚湯都幾鮮甜既。最後我地仲叫左甜品,一個係檸檬撻,一個係Profiteroles,咁我就比較鍾意檸檬撻,因為帶酸味,食飽再食甜品咁就無咁heavy,咁另一個就泡芙配雪糕,都係唔錯的。順帶一提,呢間餐廳只招待會所會員,而且餐廳內唔可以講電話,如果講電話有機會收warning letter嫁 continue reading
