還記得第一次來萬家,是大概五年前為了慶祝朋友畢業而請客的。初步了解價位和點菜後,便暗裡應為我的朋友是要敲我一筆了吧。老闆熱情地介紹菜式,也讓自認已經很熱情的我,不明白為何老闆要在我已經點滿了菜後,還要繼續介紹菜式的產地、來頭等。店內刻意從日本各地挪置回來的擺設,加上那晚每一道菜的用心和美味,令我津津樂道,以致一個月後我忍不住主動邀請朋友再度光顧。雖然那年之後我已甚少在西環出沒,但每年總會光顧。跟老闆聊天多了,發現他每次有客人光臨,尤其是第一次光顧的客人來到時,他總會帶著一股傻勁詳細地介紹菜式。趁著一晚沒有太多客人的時候,我問老闆有否遇過吃不消他熱情的客人。他說:介紹菜式是我對食材的責任,被人誤會也沒有辦法。我才明白其實老闆對每一道菜的來龍去脈十分瞭如指掌,有時候只介紹少部份資料便有機會讓人誤會。怪不得我第一晚光顧時,他明知我不會再加點菜,他還是盡責地介紹菜式,務求讓我更享受食材。老實想一想,老闆和老闆娘每事親力親為,不假手於人,也是想親自和每枱客人仔細溝通;畢竟在萬家食到的不是快餐,而是厚厚的人情味和對食物的執著~…Read More
