This place had been on my wish to go list for a while! I spent my first few months in HK in the new territories where western eateries are rare and little shops like this selling dumplings by the dozen are king! Once I moved to Sheung Wan this is something I had been looking for! I wanted a place where I could spend under 15 and get something small but satisfying to tie me over until the 8 o'clock dinner which is the custom in cities! I stopped into this place a few times though, the first they didn't have the signs up and I didn't speak English so it didn't go well.. The next few times I was chicken and pretended i wasn't really hungry, finally I wandered past with English names in the window! Ohhhh!! I immediately got two pork dumplings! Excited I bounced off to the park to enjoy them!
Unfortunately as I sat down and took a bite only to find that they were thick, doughy and unsatisfying the wrapper was chewy and I felt like it had been sitting there for hours before I got it.. It wasn't very hot and was certainly not crispy nor did it look even slightly pan fried..
Would I recommend? Nope!
