I fail to understand why this place has such a good rating.  Good atomsphere though and you get your privacy with a group of friends.Food is fresh but taste is sub par at this price. The young chef has a lot of room to improve. We ordered the $1000 (per person) set menu with Toro, Lobster, Scallop, Australia Black Abalone and Beef. Toro - very fresh. Only 1 piece per person though. Live Lobster - very fresh and we can see it moving when the chef cooks in front of us and good taste. Scallop - tot

I fail to understand why this place has such a good rating.  Good atomsphere though and you get your privacy with a group of friends.

Food is fresh but taste is sub par at this price. The young chef has a lot of room to improve. 

We ordered the $1000 (per person) set menu with Toro, Lobster, Scallop, Australia Black Abalone and Beef. 

Toro - very fresh. Only 1 piece per person though. 

Live Lobster - very fresh and we can see it moving when the chef cooks in front of us and good taste. 

Scallop - totally overcooked. It tastes very dry and hard. Pretty much all the water in the scallop is gone. 

Abalone - very fresh also.  However the chef put a heavy amount of butter to cook.  With such a fresh abalone, there is really no need to cook with butter.  It is a waste.  After taking a piece, my mouth is full of butter and I need to pay a lot of attention to feel the taste of abalone. 

Beef - it is a good piece of meat and well cooked. 

Pan Fried Vegetable - overcooked and dry.

Red bean cake - the cake itself is very dry again. 

Overall, they use very fresh food but overuse of butter and salt.  They have a dediciate chef to serve each table.  I'm not sure if it varies between chef.  

In my opinion, butter on seafood just kills the freshness of the seafood.  The recipe definitely needs to be re-worked!
