Good that we know our way otherwise it would be a while before we can find Block E. It was my first time here and the place seems cozy enough and of a typical Indian restaurant at Chung King Mansions.
It is a bit ghetto but it is as expected so can't really compliant. The first thing I ordered was a glass of Mango Lassi to cure my thirst. We were Nan bread fans so we called both Cheese Nan and also plain Nan. The Cheese Nan was nice but more cheese would be even better. It can be served without anything but itself as a starter if you want. In order to accompany the plain Nan, we ordered the Lamb Masala (med spiciness) and a Fish Madras (little spiciness). The lamb was surprisingly tender while the fish was surprisingly hard. The two dishes were of two different types of curry. The Masala is more like spicy gravy paste while the Madras is the typical yellow curry. I personally prefer the Madras curry because it is less spicy but I found the Masala's aftertaste richer, a good match with the Nan.
In addition to Nan, I am also a big fan of Indian Style Basmati Rice (3 colours rice) because I think it goes really well with curry. The Basmati Rice here were cooked with chicken oil which certainly enhanced its flavor. For some reason the grain they used was the shorter kind. Overall it was alright. It was a very fulfilling day indeed. The only negative thing I can think of is that even after exercising / sweating for the whole day, not only did I not lose any weight, I might have gained some from the dinner !!! .....

平靚正 咖哩
首先叫左個雞沙拉, 非常得意既雞塊紅紅色又酸酸辣辣(推介)可惜無影相, 再叫左兩個主甬, 中辣咖哩雞同埋大辣咖哩豬, 再配印度薄餅 (芝士, 洋蔥, 牛油味)
(題外話) 可能係人山人海既關係, 佢地設有一房作等位用, 仲有電視可作消磨時間, 不錯不錯!! 不過如果佢地可擴大餐廳面積作用餐, 我諗我地就唔駛再要1個鐘後先有得食, 咁樣仲會開心d多幫襯. 嘻~ 希望考慮!

重慶咖哩
坐低點菜, 起初有少少擔心太辣會食唔掂,而menu上又無話幾辣,最後我忍唔住問: "會唔會好辣o架?!" 點知答案竟然係: "唔辣o既" (???) 可能為了迎合香港人口味??
咖哩雞(好似叫鑊仔咖哩雞?) - 大家一致認為最好食. 味道有少少甜,可能係香料的關係,味道幾獨特.
咖哩牛 - 咖哩味道其實唔錯,但唔覺特別, 最大問題係牛肉: 好韌呀...
咖哩羊 - 羊肉大大舊夠腍又唔'蘇',真係好好味... 但部份羊肉連骨. 咖哩汁係三碟之中最'杰',味道OK,不過就似係其他地方食到的咖哩味.
牛油薄餅 - 多層牛油香,比較鍾意這個.
芝士薄餅 - 好有芝士香,個人覺得齋食好正,但沾咖哩則有少少怪,因為芝士與咖哩都係味重的食物.
羊肉炒飯 - 睇落似成座山的炒飯,查實因為個碟細...不過裡面藏住好多大大舊的羊肉. 炒飯有淡淡香料味,但太乾啦; 始終認為羊肉最正!

不會再去
好多人也說這裡的咖哩好味,今日特來試一試.
一開始點菜,有個上年紀中國女人寫菜(化妝好濃)
已經沒有禮貌,叫了幾次也不理我,
之後終於幫我寫菜,除了無禮貌之外,仲大聲夾惡,唔知以為免費,
旁邊黎先過我們的客人向我們講,也遇到同一樣的情況.
叫完菜之後,等了30分鐘也沒有野食,
有菜上時,上錯菜仲話我地唔岩,D餐具唔清潔,
食物份量小,味道方便也可以,咖哩真的幾好味,
當中以芝士薄餅最正,但食完之後,
回家要飲好多水,
仲有…….下次請我都唔去.

唔好食
慢慢覺得印度野食確實都有佢好食之處.....於是朋友生日便介紹去口啤甚好的重慶7E~
但老老實實真質素的確比預期差好多~當日叫的食物有:
特色烤雞 (全埸最好食係佢,d雞唔算太"鞋"燶燶地幾好食)
咖哩牛腩 (牛腩好韌,咖哩唔算特別好好,味道一般)
蒜蓉烤餅 (都好一般,太粉,唔知點解咁多人讚)
芝士烤餅 (呢個好d,麵粉適中,但冇乜芝士味)
炸洋蔥圈 (都叫ok,但都係用左太多粉去炸)
可能係阿蘇介紹過所以生意咁好,坐無虛席.....但個人覺得食物及環境略差!!!唔會再去~

以後都唔會去重慶大廈食野, 都係因為e 間7E 衰, 累街坊!!!!!!!!!!
事緣約左幾個朋友, 大家都話未到過重慶大廈食curry, 又聽d friends 講話好nice ga d 人, 咁就一齊去左食dinner啦, 一去到大廈下面, 其實都幾驚, 因為好多巴籍人士, 不過又見到佢地真係幾nice.
點知上到7E, 就係惡夢既開始, 一上到去見到有個中國籍女人, 4x 歲, 應該係老闆娘掛, e 個女人已經起度鬧緊人, 之後大家都呆哂啦, 明明話好nice 嫁麻!!
之後我地無理啦, 佢見我地一班人上到去, 問我們幾位, 我們話8個, 但佢竟然安排張4 人枱比我地囉, 即係咁, 如果佢無位無枱 or 比人訂左枱都仲話等下呀, 但係佢間野仲有3 張枱係空既, 仲要有張係8人枱, 我地完全唔明白點解囉! 咁我們無理佢, 話要坐張8人枱, 因為我地8個人, e 個女人成個面黑到呢!!!!!!!!
坐落叫野食, 咁因為我們大家都未去過食既關係, 就舉手問下有咩recommend 啦, 見到e 個女人approaching, 都已經知道唔方好野嫁啦! 問佢有咩recommend, 佢唔答人, 咁算啦, 我們自己叫, 叫左幾個curry chicken, shrimp, indian rice 同埋烤餅之後, 因為我地圍內discussing 叫咩牛, fish and other food, 咁我地見佢起度等, 好似唔係幾好咁, 就叫佢落住order 先, 話轉頭再叫, 咁e 樣好平常o者, 點知e個女人又燥底啦, 佢大大聲咁話 "wei, 唔可以咁落單嫁wor, 邊有人咁落單嫁" 痴線ga, 我地去係食野, 又唔係去比人鬧, 咁樣無啦啦比人話一餐, 咩都無引啦!!!!!!!!!!!! 咁我地其中一個friend 比較好人, 佢就同e 個惡女人講, "我地唔係話唔落單wor, 只不過係落住e d 先o者, 頭先叫你recommend 你又唔出聲, 咁我們唔識叫係咁嫁啦" 之後e 個女人still 唔理人, 係咁棟起度!!!
去到e 個位其實我們有部分人話不如走人, 不過難得成班friends 約到出黎同埋8個人起TST 搵野食始終都要等一段時間, 咁結果我地都係stay,求其叫多幾個curry 牛, 魚, 羊 咁就打發個惡女人走啦!
食落呢, 講番句公道說話, 咁e 間野又唔係難食既, 不過又唔講得話好, 一般啦~~
不過個惡女人又無啦啦走左過黎, 問我地有無野要加, 我地見仲有curry 剩, 就加左幾個烤餅, 一個飯, 好啦, 咁再過多唔夠5 mins, e個女人又問人洗唔洗加單!!!!!!!!!!!!變態嫁, 墳化爐燒野都唔止5分鐘啦下麻!!!!!!!!!!!!!
結果埋單每人around $100, 加送無限黑面, 再送比人鬧一餐!!!!!!!!!!!!!
我地事後點諗都唔過份呀, 每人around $100 埋單, 都唔係叫得少野啦, 但比d 咁既service, 一定以後都唔黎!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

重慶咖哩
咖哩味道複雜,一般用上n咁多種香料,所以要做到價錢平又好食,響香港呢個地價咁貴ge地方都真係有難度。香港有一小型連鎖咖哩餐廳,響香港九龍新界都有分店,同樣由印巴人仕主理,價錢十分便宜,可惜咖哩味道單薄,明顯是價格所限,導致香料不足。
呢間咖哩王,咖哩真係做到正宗咖哩的香和味,吃得出是由n咁多種香料煮成,而價錢亦做到稱得上便宜。
佢地推介的鑊仔羊,羊肉的確新鮮。咖哩蝦都辣味亦十分足夠。
原味厚身薄餅,$13一塊,夠軟屬夠大塊夠fresh夠熱。價錢算ok,出面大約$10-$18/pcs。
有個印度rose tea ,我就覺得無乜特別,有d似玉泉忌廉,好甜,不過甜味係可以解辣。
老闆和服務員都很nice,不過,只有部份能說和理解廣東話。建議大家說英文,可以避免好多誤會。
不過,有d地方都要改進下。
就係佢果d胡椒餅,胡椒餅係小食,一般咖哩餐廳都會送一份,但咖哩王就要收費,$6一塊,其實算貴,收左錢就應該要有好質數,可惜,明顯d胡椒餅係放左幾粒鐘,疏晒氣,胡椒餅唔脆仲點算胡椒餅。
要提醒各位,始終係樓上鋪,我觀察過鋪入面,店主都用窗簾布將d窗阻住,可能咁樣睇落會似返一間餐廳。不過,如果發生火警,後果就嚴重了,食客因未能了解自已身處的方向而不能有效逃生。走廊沒有清晰的逃生指示(好像也沒有緊急出口指示燈),加上重慶大廈總是凌凌亂亂的,發生火警時要逃生的確有難度。我建議各位巴打去呢間餐廳果陣,一定要落足眼力和記憶力去記住自已點行入黎,有咩事都會記得點樣行返出去。

vegetable curry
之前來過也有 5 次以上 , 每次一坐下 waiter 就會各人先來一份葫椒餅 , 不過今天就已經沒有送了 , 查問之下 , 原來因為物價高漲的原因老闆決定取消.
5 個人點了 3 個 curry , 兩個小吃再加 4 個薄餅 .
小吃叫了咖哩角 , 是素菜的 , 皮雖然有些厚 , 但不會多油 , 一點點辣 , 好香口好味 .
Prawn Masala , 是濃汁中蝦 , 不吃得辣的人 , 這個未必適合.
Chicken Makhni , 本來是叫另一個咖哩 , 不過 waiter 介紹這個說可以試下不同的咖哩味 . 這個沒有 Masala 的辣 , 雞肉好多 , 不會乾 .
Vegetable Curry , 其實也吃不出有什麼菜 , 只是有好多豆 , 始終覺得廣東的清炒菜比較好味 .
至於麵包 , 叫了我最愛的 naan 和有芝士味的 , 吃咖哩還是配原味的 naan 比較適合 , 因為不會太 "漏" .
這裡的客人 80% 也是香港人 , 味道也迎合了香港人的口味 , 不會太勁香料又不會太辣 .
由於客人也不少 , 不可以坐得太久 , 而且地方有些狹窄 , 吃完也要埋單走人.

深入重慶森林,其實也有一點點恐怖,因為有太多太多有膚色人士聚集,並要經過重重舖頭先去到,不過,要搵好野食,當然比較困難一點啦 =]

退步了!!!
1.芝士薄餅沒有芝士味,好似食緊烤粉團,以前果種一咬下去濃濃芝士味及一絲絲的芝士已
變成過去式。
2.蒜蓉薄餅沒有蒜蓉味,又係好似吃粉團。
印度菜中的薄餅係印度菜其中一個主力,但現現卻變成吃烤粉團,給我一種不認真的感
覺,我對這店五年來的支持應該會告一段落。
3.芒果乳酸芒果味淡薄,乳酸又帶有粉質,比起以前的香濃幼滑,現有真係慘不刃睹,就算
以前偶然失手也未曾試過會咁不堪,連一向極有衣食概老豆都話下次要轉地頭。
