I am not a coffee person, but I do love tea, especially English Tea, Chinese tea is also nice as well.My favourite is Jasmine, but I needed something to tone down my thirst from the noodles at Butao.I chose "Phoenix tea" with a slight bitter taste, because with Jasmine, it just makes you drink more. The shop was quite modernised with those Chinese drawers you find in Herbal medicine shops but with a lighter shade of wood. There were jars of tea, so you could smell before you choose your drink. They even sold macaroons. The teas cost around $30 per cup, which is similar to the prices of cofffee at Starbucks and Pacific Coffee, there were magazines as well.Although, there was quite a choice for tea, it was still not as comprehensive as the choice at J Marriot (Canton Tea Shop), although it costs more at JW at $65 per pot.The tea selection was divided into Green, Black and Red.For takeaway tea's, the cups look like the coffee ones at SB and PC which are very modern.I drank my tea there, but was slightly disappointed by the teaware they used, it was so modern, but then I suppose they were used to match the environment.I was looking forward to those mini teapots and tiny cups.Overall, I really liked this shop as it gives me an alternative to drink tea instead of drinking tea at coffee shops and they have an English menu too.

Jason and Y both came past here for some tea to digest our meal(s). There's a good variety of Chinese teas available. The main attraction however isn't the normal Chinese teas, but the India/Sri Lankan styled Black or Red teas served here, which were said to be originally from China! Didn't know that. YUNNAN RED 滇紅 - is a red tea which is meant to be earthy and refined. It wasn't as aromatic as I had hoped, and apparently the cup of tea we receive is made up of an equal proportion of the 1st Round of brewing (第一泡) and the 2nd Round. I normally only prefer the 2nd round but I guess they have limitations of how to brew it here. Chingsan Souchong 正山小種 - another red tea from Fujian, which is suppose to have hints of red liquor and dates. Didn't try this but apparently its good. Will be back for their freshly brewed tea!

I walked by this new place a few times on my way to the office and was attracted by the decoration and displays, so I went in to see what it was all about. I am usually a coffee drinker, but I was very impressed with Leaf's wide selection of teas from all over the world, so decided to try something new. I had the Rooibos tea since I had never had teas from South Africa before and was definitely pleased with both flavour and service. I will go back to try some other selections. Veramente una buona tazza di tè.

While Taiwanese style tea houses are seen in almost every major street in Hong Kong, it is a pleasant surprise to see the opening of LEAF. I was told they just opened for a couple days when I went in there. There were so many choices some of which I have never heard of. I ordered white peony and it was contained in a paper cup with a plastic cover similar to those used in chain coffee shops. It was quite hot and I told the servers and they quickly cooled it a bit by pouring the tea in and out of a flask several times. And the result was just right --- it was unlike any tea you got from the around-the-street tea houses. Don't expect sweetness or any fancy flavor. It's instead authentic quality consistent with the longstanding tea traditions, albeit poured into a to-go cup.I don't know whether others feel it's worth 30 dollars but to me it's a gourmet's treat in an easy package. Definitely will go back and check out other flavors.
