Very good food and good amount for the price. Each set comes with many different dishes, each individual dish is small but good amount and all together gives a great opportunity to try many different kinds of dishes without gorging on any invidual one. In general all of the dishes were very light and refreshing with refreshing taste, would definitely go again. Only one thing: avoid the curry, it was a sour spot on an otherwise great lunch.
I was there for the first time during lunch time with a few coworkers. Great dining experience overall.
There were four set lunch menus (prices range from $90 - $150). All of them have at least 5 "courses" - great for sampling. The vegetarian set ($90) came with tofu & mushroom soup, veggies spring rolls, mango salad, deep fried curry potato cakes and stir-fried rice noodles. Small but decent portion for each dish but very filling with everything combined. The food was made fresh and tasted deliciouss - definitely good value for money. Another non-vegetrian set came with fish cakes, chicken & cabbage salad, a pork dish, noodle soup, and sweet & sour prawns with tomatoes.
The embience is very cozy and provides enough privacy for conversations. Staff was attentive and service was prompt.
haven't been there quite a while, so just went there again with friend two days ago. we ordered:
- raw beef noodle soup: the soup base is pretty good and i like they have prepared bean sprout, mint leaves, some herbs, lime and sauce along side with it.
- prawn & avocado salad: i know it does sound too western. i did have hesitation when i ordered it, but it's chef's recommendation so i tried. the prawns are fresh. with the mixed greens with lotus roots and limey-sour dressing, it's pretty refreshing.. especially for a hot summer night.
- fried fish in hanoi style: i first thought it's something i had before in other restaurant, so i ordered. but when it comes, it's totally new. it serves with soup and rice noodles, with dill & tumaric sauce. fish is nice and the soup with noodles are sweet. slightly oily. but nice try.
- curry chicken: it serves with bread. compare with the rest of the dishes, this one is so so, just like other curry you have, nothing special.
for drinks we just have lime soda. not bad.
the restaurant is in rectangular shape. all tables are small. but it sort of like french colonial setting and the service is nice. slightly expensive but in LKF, so it's sort of expected.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Hong Kong!! The atmosphere is terrific - the lighting is dim but warm and cozy and the food and service are great!
Top faves: 1) Beef noodle soup - wonderful soup base... 2) Pomello salad or spicy chicken and cabbage salad 3) any of their fried rice and noodles
Not highly recommended: Curry
Desserts: Never tried any - have always been too full by then.
For a Vietnamese restaurant the price is definitely high - but it is worth it for the atmosphere, location and quality.
I cebebrated my boydfriend's dinner there last night. It was excellent. The food was superb, especially the beef tenderloin with tomato and the prawn. The Vietmese drip filter coffee was nice as well. We both enjoyed it a lot. They have a wide range of wine too. What's more, the environment was so romantic--they try to portray either the southern French environment or the times when Vietnam was French colony. Anyways it's excellent for couples. The price is a bit high though--we had 1 appetizer, 2 maincourses, 2 steamed rice, 3 glasses of white wine, 2 coffee, 1 choco ice cream and 1 choco mousse, which cost me $960.
A colleague coming from LA treated us a dinner, he has chosen this restaurant. This is the first time I had dinner there. The environment is nice, especially good for couple. The food is fine too. I don't know how much the bill is but I guess must be quite expensive.
Their efforts to rekindle the French colonial atomsphere are indeed a success (some might find the place abit pretentious though). Foods are fairly OK but I ain't dying for my 2nd visit.

七時入坐,餐廳只有一檯人客。頭盤是Rice paper rolls with shrimps, pork and herbs: 粉皮薄、煙韌; 咬落爽脆,口感多層次亦非常豐富,還有香茅的poignance,不用點附上的薄荷醬汁也吃得滿足。
朋友的Halong Bay Spicy Seafood Soup,他的評語是"hearty";我的露荀蟹肉湯,也是滿滿的一大碗蟹肉撕成絲,露荀卻是罐頭的,淋淋的,飲著吃著不說也不知是露荀。
主菜之一的monkfish是兩條fillet,各面舖著heavy的酸味醬。魚肉"鞋口",而且不容易撕開/切開;另外的lamp chops,朋友評為油膩、肥肉太多、花生醬與其格格不入,四件只幹掉三件。
還有炒seasonal vegetables,以菜心為主,勝在炒得不油膩,味道就是屋企煮好味。
服務、環境無懈可擊(但八時後人多,就開始嘈吵); 菜上得太快,主菜未吃到一半我們已捧著肚皮。 朋友commented:若這是他首次經驗,他不會考慮再來。對我來說,卻是經驗新鮮、不俗的一餐,在此謝過。

無心插柳下
炸蝦片
先奉上一兜炸蝦片,少試一角,很口脆,如果有男士在場,一定食清。
有幾款不同價錢的午餐選擇,不太合胃口,索性散叫。
越式炒金邊粉-入口淡而無味,朋友說與以前兩碼子的事,立即投訴要求轉另一款。最後換了越式炒飯,這個截然不同,雖然材料簡單,只有雞蛋、扎肉等,薑味很濃而重,飯身不油粒粒乾身。
生牛肉河-湯底淡淡的,牛肉又是嚡嚡的,河粉雖幼細通透,但口感很粗糙,同意kc所講完全唔掂。幸好的是我要的是細碗,吃剩不算多。
炒雜菜-很齋的感覺,全碟清綠素色,一點鮮艷顏色也沒有,很難吸引食慾。這碟"青"菜與炒飯價值只差$3。
其實價錢唔貴,環境也不錯,不過算十分好食,如果食越南菜有更好的選擇。

海鮮薄餅同蝦片最好
叫了的食物和Comment 如下:
1) 帶子沙律- 趆式菜絲沙律+熟帶子,惹味,幾開胃。
2) 沙嗲 (雞、牛各3 串)-肉唔香,沙嗲冇味,唔好。
3) 海鮮薄餅- 蛋餅煎得香脆,再夾炒得剛好嘅海鮮,好味。
4) 香橙鴨- 似過氣燒鴨+橙汁 ‘獻’,唔係唔好食,不過有啲估佢唔到。
5) 炒什菜- 唔太油,幾香蒜蓉味,幾好。
6) 白飯
老實說,味道方面佢唔差,但又唔係好impress,要好過佢都有幾多餐廳,不過呢度叫做有格調得來感覺平實,服務親切。唔似一d所謂高級趆菜,只得賣相精緻。

札肉湯檬相對正常
環境絕對是這裡的強項,坐在靠窗的位置,在昏黃的燈光下,透進少許陽光,播著輕音樂,是說不出的舒適。周未沒有套餐,只有散叫,二人來吃,要了青木瓜牛柳絲沙律、蒸粉卷、生牛河及札肉湯檬。
先來一點小吃,原來是炸蝦片,也真是第一次吃越式炸蝦片作小吃的。厚身,鬆脆,有胡椒味又有蝦味,好好食,好快又要多一籃;青木瓜牛柳絲沙律賣相對辦,青木瓜切得夠幼細,加上花生碎、金不換、炸蒜頭、乾蔥頭,材料十足的。不過吃起來是欠了點辣味,加上魚露也不夠味,結果就變成了酸味主導,不過也是清新醒胃之選;蒸粉卷是個人喜愛,亦時常吃的越式料理之一。這裡的做得不錯,粉皮薄又滑溜,配料豐富,有碎肉、沙葛、木耳絲、乾蔥頭等等,吃起來夠味。美中不足的是沾醬很不濟,只有一碟混了蒜頭及醋的魚露,減少了食趣。
侍應見吃完前菜至上湯粉麵,服務幾體貼,至少不會拿拿林上齊幾樣,一讚。
吃越南菜怎能不吃牛湯河,不過這裡的做得甚不濟。湯不算很熱,喝起來也很鮮甜,是不錯的牛骨湯,當然不算是一試難忘的一類。牛肉鞋且韌,唔掂。河粉未浸透又是鞋鞋的,完全唔滑,更唔掂!而牛河的配套如香葉、青檸、紅尖椒等等就可齊備。還要了大碗的,吃剩了不少,還是喝清湯便算;比較之下,札肉湯檬就好一點了。札肉厚切,吃起來也有點黑椒的味道,連平時不喜札肉的我也覺不錯。湯底是清雞湯,淡淡的又有點清甜,勝在味精不多。吃過檬粉,是正常的,也比湯河好好多。
見有滴漏咖啡,又來杯熱的。味道不香又不濃,要加大量的練奶才有點味道。38元一杯在這裡而言不算是很貴,但也不值一試,這一呼以北角華順的最好了。
侍應的服務很好,很周到,值得一讚。
埋單三百七十多,以吃越南菜計,當然還有很多比這裡便宜的選擇,不過結合地點及環境計,也不算是貴得離譜。
