Introduction
22 Ships offers an eclectic menu of modern Spanish tapas created by Michelin Star Chef Jason Atherton of Pollen Street Social fame – a protégé of Ferran Adrià and Gordon Ramsay. All tapas served in a buzzy yet relaxed setting, and a dynamic list of wines, spirits and Spanish beers. The no reservation- no service charge tapas bar offers diners an opportunity to experience what Atherton describes as ‘the deformalizing of fine dining’.

The atmosphere of this tapas restaurant was quite cohesive as the tables were closely seated and there was an open area where customers had to sit at a long bench sharing the long table. I and my friend were excited about this restaurant because a lot of our common friends had so many positive feedbacks about this place so we’ve decided to come here and try the food out. Brittany Oysters $68- they were fresh and sweet, I could have dozens of these bite sized babies.Iberico pork and foie g...

Arrived at 7.00 on a Saturday night after work, ordered a beer and waited for some friends, there was meant to be 8 of us but ended up being only 4, when my friend got there she waited a little and put our names down, I was almost finished my beer by now and it was around 7.30, our friends were meeting us at 8 so we did as advised and went down to the bar affiliated with the resturant down the road! DELICIOUS cocktail but that is another story all together!  22 ships gave us a c...

If you want the TL;DR version, it's that the food is OK at best, and the wait is terrible.Let me tell you about the wait. We showed up at 7:40pm on a Saturday. Terrible time to show up, I know BUT, in my defense, I regularly eat around 8:30. So a wait of an hour or an hour and a half is fine by me. At the door they have the nicest and most disingenuous man working. He told us that we had a 45 minute to an hour wait, and suggested we wait at their wine bar, behind Ham...

I was wandering through Wan Chai around 11:45 and feeling a bit peckish, so I thought I'd pop over to 22 Ships and wait for them to open. The meal I had was one for the books. I started with the Iberico and Moreilla Duck Egg. I thought the dish to be very good, but would have preferred the egg to be cooked a little less (I like a runny yolk). However, that was my only demur. The next dish was the Squid and Jamon Paella. I've never had a better paella. The saltiness of th...

Back again~ not alone this time as I wanted to make sure I could try more things. This time for dinner, there was a short line, but luckily we were only waiting for a few tables. Scallop ceviche was a most refreshing starter. Velvety raw scallops dressed in a tart yuzu dressing, with crunchy slices of cucumber. Oh so good.Their paella was a decent enough portion for two, full of chewy squid and crispy pieces of chorizo. When you dig deeper, you will find squid ink sauce on the botto...

菜式如 Squid & Salmon Paella ($148)  Iberico Pork and Foie Gras Burger ($158) 尤其出色,味道變化多端。不過餐廳地方偏小又吵,而且人多滿座時很擠迫,坐得很不舒服,無法集中地引人入勝。價錢也比較...

I have finally boarded the ship (pun intended) and tried the oft talked about 22 ships~ in case you are wondering the name of the restaurant is actually its address. A cute touch. The whole outfit is somewhat casual, with bar seats surrounding the whole of the open kitchen and if you like they have a few seats facing out onto the street where you can people watch. If you are sitting at the bar be assured you will have the best seats in the house for watching the chefs prepare your food whic...

This restuarant is a class of boutique-ified joints in Hong Kong. Loud music, bar/bench seating, small room, tiny dishes served tapas style, and of course, no service charge (listed, at least). And of course it feels trendy and "cool" feeling. Paid 1,000 HKD for 2 for: Suckling pig - a daily special; no special sauces / unique tastes. The only thing unique was its retangular serving dish. Roaster peppers - lacked a 3rd major flavor; green peppers + garlic with...

We recently came back from Melbourne to visit family and friends and chose 22 ships because it looked like a great place with great food. We arrived at 7.30 and was told that a table of 4 would be a 30-45 min wait. We were fine because the place was so busy, it must be worth the wait! The hostess was friendly and we just stood outside and started catching up with our friends. we waited 75 minutes and when we finally got a table, it was a small bar table with all four seats facing a wal...
