The coffee shops in Dai Hang were not particuarly outstanding. Since they were mostly located next to the garages, for a visitor like me could hardly recognize whether the store is a coffee shop or not. Besides, you will find yourself with disappointment if you come here early in the day. Be reminded that ALL coffee shops here in Dai Hang do not open until around 2 or 3 in the afternoon! Or even, for shops like the Kindergarten only opens during the weekends (with advanced booking!). What a fame, what a style.

Anyway, back to Unar. I must admit that upon our arrival, Unar absolutely stunned me. The way that its design, its architect and the branding had been all too British in this area. Never would I expected to find such British styled coffee shop here, or even, in Hong Kong. I was so immensely touched and my memories of high school back in the good old days in UK immediately flooded my mind. What a lovely coffee shop.

It was interesting to see such a rare design of coffee shop being an "open-door" servicing, instead of an actual "store" for you to dine-in. There were only takeaways but a few seats were provided just around the corner of the shop with wooden benches. Quite a few people were already there when we arrived, and they seemed to be enjoying the coffee, and life, should I say.

It was a hot sunny afternoon and a cup of cold drink was definitely the call. I ordered a chocolate cookie macchiato (frankly now I can't recall if it was macchiato or latte, but I'm sure it was chocolate cookie) - [right of the photo] and blame my "ageing memory cells", I forgotten what my friend ordered - [left of the photo]. Even though I couldn't quite recall the names, but I remembered my drink was quite nice. Though I thought it was slightly too watery, there was definitely a strong coffee taste (unlike some coffee chain stores). Perhaps the ice killed the flavour.

Overall, I thought that Unar was a really attractive coffee shop. The owner of the shop was friendly and charming too, which added on the attractiveness. I love the way how Unar branded itself - the logo especially, grabbed my eyeball first thing when I arrived.

That mysterious figure ridding his bicycle while enjoying his cup of coffee - is just so British, and just so my type. If only I live in the Hong Kong Island, I will definitely pay more visits to this petite store. And apparently, I heard from my friend that Edison Chen has been a frequent visitor too. Well, that is if any of you pay attention to him anymore after all those scandals.
