I finally had the chance to meet godbro XO's honey!
Actually, XO's honey found out that we went on a couple Chiuchow foodie adventures and recommended that we add another new restaurant near her office to our adventures!

Godbro XO took the MTR to the restaurant since Tai Ping Kitchen is right next to the North Point MTR station, so he took the MTR from his office in Wanchai, but since I went from home in Happy Valley, MTR is not a convenient choice for me.   However, there's a a bus that runs straight from Happy Valley to North Point landing me a block and a half from the restaurant!

Tai Ping Kitchen is setup like a char charn tang, but it is brightly-lit and tidy.  Like some char charn tangs, the utensils and napkins were put away in a drawer in the table, and there are menus available on the table.  While we were discussing on what to order, the waitress saw that we were flipping the plastic menus back and forth multiple times, so she provided us with another clear folder menu with pictures and more food items.  From the clear folder, we picked the following four dishes.

When the eggs were served, the deep orange yolks looked like they were smiling at us.  The eggs had a strong but not harsh Chinese wine aroma.  The yolk had the perfect syrupy texture and the white was solid but still soft.  We have had plenty of soft boiled eggs before, and this is one of the good ones!

XO asked me if I ate intestines before he ordered the Marinated Main Dish with Goose Slices and Pork Intestines. I told him that I've never had it before and don't mind trying.

When the dish came, I had the goose slices first.  The goose slices were tender, and they were marinated nicely with the slightly sweet soy sauce.  Since I've never had pork intestine before, I can't really comment on whether it's good or bad.  All I can say is it was a little chewy and had a distinctive flavor that's new to me.

My favorite dish of the night was the Goose Liver in Chinese Wine.  I think the restaurant made a mistake by calling it foie gras in the menu as this liver doesn't feel like it was purposely fattened like foie gras.  Just because it wasn't fattened doesn't mean it was tough though.  The liver was far from tough!  It's one of the most tender goose liver I've ever had!  It was so tender that it just slid down my throat.  This goose liver was succulent and carried a pleasant Chinese wine fragrance.

The Fried Oyster Omelet with Duck Eggs looked shallow-fried rather than pan-fried, so it had a very crunchy edge along with crunchy pieces in the middle.  The oysters were plump, and since the omelet was made with duck eggs, the egg flavor was stronger.  The only issue was that it contained quite a bit of flour which soaked up quite a bit of oil, which made the omelet quite greasy.

Thanks to the recommendation by godbro's honey, we discovered this char charn tang style restaurant that served high quality drunken dishes!  Since my brother was working overtime and couldn't join us for dinner, I ordered a couple dishes to take away for him!
