I hadn't been cooked food centres(熟食中心) run by Hong Kong Government for decades XD.My friend suggested that we went to a chinese restaurant specialized in chicken hotpot(雞煲) called ''Fai Kee chicken hotpot''(輝記雞煲火鍋) located at 4/F, Shui Wo Street Municipal Services Building, 9 Sui Wo Street Kwun Tong(觀塘瑞和街9號瑞和街市政大樓4樓).This restaurant is totally a classic HongKongese style local Dai Pai Pong.If you want to experience the HongKongese local culture, it definately is one of your choices.Special flav

Special flavours of hotpots are served in this restaurant.
i.e.
1.Goose(奇味鵝煲)
2.Lamb(黑草羊腩煲)
3.Fresh water clams & pig intestines hotpot(蝴蝶腩粉腸花甲鍋)
4.Coconut chicken(椰子雞煲)
which are not commonly found in other restaurants.

Even though I had eaten pcountless of chicken hotpots before, I had never tried ones with such kind of flavours.It is peculiar in a good way, packs with tons of eccentric flavours with a numbing heat.
Customers can choose the intensities of spiciness and numbness according to their preferences.
Customers can also add various ingredients into the hotpot.
I added sweet potato vermicelli/ noodles (蕃薯粉) HKD$25 into the pot after finished the chicken.
The vermicelli is chewy, gluey that soaked up all the essences and flavours of the chicken hotpot.YummmmmmThe portion is hugeeeeeeeeeee which is value for money.
Fresh beef slices(鮮牛肉) HKD$70It is lean meat, lower fat content, healthier.
Thick slices.
Wontons(雲吞) HKD$35 /8 pcs
Tasty, shrimps and pork fillings.
Value for money in such low price yet large portion.
Beef tripe(牛柏葉) HKD$42
Soft, not rubbery, large portion.
Fish dumplings(魚皮餃) HKD$32/10 pcs
Chewy, bouncy, springy dumpling skin with minced fish and pork mixture filing.Flavourful, not too salty nor greasy.Yummmmm.
Very affordable and economic!!!
Guinness black beer (Malaysian version) (馬來西亞版健力士黑啤) HKD$30
It is the first time for me to try a Malaysian version Guinness.Personally I think that it is bitterer but has less intense barley, malt flavours.
This restaurant has better hygiene than other ordinary Dai Pai Pong.Neat and tidy.
Food is cheap and large portions
Staff is friendly and treat customers like their old friends.
Waiters get along with lots of long term customers very well.They make you feel being a guest having dinner in an old friend's home.
