Amina is a small but cozy place for fine dining if you want a quiet and romantic place in the middle of the busy Causeway Bay. There are only five tables so it’s guaranteed a private dining spot. You can bring your own wine without any corkage fee so its also a good place for large group gathering.Amina offers five-course dinner with main course being M9 Kobe steak, roasted rack of lamb and black squid ink risotto. You can see the chef’s passion for food when the even the sauce or pate for bread i
As a meat lover, I had to choose the pan fried foie gras with marinated pineapple and marsala. The thick cut of foie gras was beautifully presented with crunchy biscuits under the foie gras. The foie gras was just rich, succulent and meaty. The crunchy and sweet biscuit went perfectly well with the soft and relatively greasy foie gras. A small scoop of sorbet was served to lighten up the flavour before having the main course. I opted for the M9 beef. The beef was served on a bed of beetroot mash which was quite interesting. The mash has a hint of sweetness from the beetroot. The M9 beef was just magnificent. It was tender and flavourful with great sear on the outside. The dessert which comprises of pineapple crunchy bits and peanuts was really refreshing after a rather meaty dinner. I really admire the creativity and originality of the chef for such an amazing dinner.
