Tried Le Salon for my first time @ IFC
Green tea latte is always my order in cafe as I don't take coffee
The portion was quite small
Taste is fair but not extraordinary
Prefer a stronger taste of green tea
Also, it became cool very quickly...Ordered penne with tomatoes to fill my stomach
Portion was ok for girls
Taste was fine
Particularly like the tomatoes - very juicy, fresh and sweet
Penne was cooked right in texture - not too soft nor too hard - and with right amount of sauceOverall speaking it's a fair lunch
But it's a bit too pricey...
Paying that amount of $ I would expect a much higher quality

We came to Stanley for our anniversary dinner and saw this on the 3rd place for Stanley restaurants on openrice so chose here. It rained all day so there were not a lot of customers (guess similar for other restaurants too as there were not many pppl on the street anyway). However, although the restaurant was less than half full, the staff arranged us to sit between two other occupied tables and basically all customers were sitting very close to each other on one side, while the other side of the restaurant was empty. I do understand restaurants would want to allow flexibility for themselves but when we came at 6-ish, even if there would be thousands of people queuing up, we would have finished our food by then. Anyway, we wouldn't stay long so we were fine with the seating. Looking at the Menu, it seems there are not a lot of choices. None of the starters/appetitizers is appealing to us so we directly jumped to main.

We ordered baked salmon in white wine sauce and steak with butter sauce.We confessed that we didn't understand the word that follows salmon on the menu so it might have told us the way the salmon is cooked. But those red/yellow peppers that went with the salmon were not very appealing and MB doesnt take peppers so he didn't like the salmon. The portion was relatively small too but this might not be as bad as a con this time as we didn't really enjoy this dish...

For the steak, we had it medium well done. And perhaps so, it was a bit tough for some parts while other parts were fine. The butter sauce was very nice. Portion was ok. But the side dishes were not ok. The peas were overcooked and became very softened while the fries were very hard (looked like to have been made for long). 

Initially I thought to have dessert there too but given such quality of food, we'd better skip this time...

Came to BRICKLANE with my colleague-friend for a weekend brunch
Had tried Brick Lane Gallery previously so we purposely tried this another one across the street
I ordered Egg Benedit with Parma Ham and green tea latte
My colleague-friend ordered french toast with bacon and banana which I havent tried before
And we shared the dishes.The first moment that I saw my egg benedit was it was too small and was thinking I might need to order something extra
However, with the green tea latte, it was quite filling.
The egg benefit was served in a very good presentation with different colors on the plate.
The eggs were nicely poached.
With the hollandaise sauce looked a bit different from other ones that I saw previously in other shops but it was still good
Together with parma ham, the different layers of taste and texture were just amazing!Initially I was thinking mixing sweet and salty ingredients might be risky
But after having my first bite of the french toast with bacon and banana
I think it was just a very special combination with "contradicting" flavor but still supplementing each other.

Overall speaking I think I will recommend this restaurant to others
But the portion might not be enough for boys
Interior deco is good but space is quite limited inside
You will find yourself sitting very close to the next table...

Lately two of our teammates are leaving the team and so we chose Azure for a farewell lunch with them. We actually came here roughly 2 years ago for another teammate's farewell. This time, 22 of us reserved three separate long tables.

Azure is on the 29/F of Lan Kwai Fong Hotel so on G/F, you need to ask for a staff to insert their key card for you to get access to the lift up. When the lift arrived, we saw a foyer area with sofas, pool table, book shelves, etc, which already gives a very relaxing ambience. Then we went up the stairs and get to the main dining area.There are not a lot of seats so there is reasonable "privacy" and coziness. I also like the color theme of it. We were seated swiftly and the staff took our order. I chose seafood platter for appetizer and the Hanger Steak for main course.After placing our order, we went to the appetizer table to start our journey~~ There were many different small dishes/glasses containing various kinds of appetizers. But if you look closer, many were actually repeating. Was a bit disappointed by the level of variety. Furthermore, there was smoke salmon last time when we came here but not anymore now You can also get bread and soup. The soup today was tomato cream soup. The soup was very good which was out of my expectation, with creamy texture and fresh tomato taste. It doesn't taste like those canned tomato soup. But the bread was a little hard, perhaps since it was not hot. 

The seafood platter contained a crab leg, two shrimps and 2 oysters. The crab leg and shrimps were standard, nothing very special. For the oysters, my colleague told me it's quite fresh so I could have a try (as I normally don't take fresh oysters). I took her advice and tried one. Ummmm.....I think I'll just stick with my routine and my colleague finally took the other remaining one.Here are my picks from the appetizer table (from top to bottom, from left to right):
- nachos with avocado dip: first time seeing red nachos...hopefully no artifical coloring; but the avocado dip was fine
- a tiny piece of bread with unknown paste (I guess it's something related to salmon based on the pink color): the bread was even worse than the bread that went with the soup -  
- japanese egg custard in sesame sauce: so-so 
- marinated "papaya": that wass what the staff told me but I suspected it was carrot, which, I NORMALLT DON'T EAT...but I still managed to finish them...
- squid with thin noodles in Thai sauce: the one that I enjoyed the most and I actually went out to take another one both the squid and noodles tasted right and matched with the Thai sauce!Since we had 22 people, it took a while for the main course for all of us to arrive. Yet, the time taken was not too bad (perhaps with so many of us chatting around, we won't realise how long it actually took ). Although the staff didn't ask us how well we wanted the steak be done, the steak was very tender with pink fresh in the middle, just about right level that I wanted It was so juicy that I amost didn't realise there was some sauce on the side that I could have the steak with. Seriously, this was really good!When my main course came, the first thing that attracted me was actually not the steak but the potato However, there was too little cream. Without cream, the potato didn't have much flavor so we asked for more. Even with extra cream, it still was not enough for finishing the whole potato

Another colleague ordered pizza for his main course - I actually didn't notice it was option. From the surface it looked quite good too, with pork and pineapple. But the portion looked too big for ladies.At the point most of us were already quite full. However, seeing a table of desserts that were difficult to resist, and knowing there is ice cream, I still took some~ In short, the ice cream was good but that sago paste really CANNOT!!!!!!
