An out of town guest craved Chinese / Cantonese food and picked this place for quality of food. Likes the good choices and particularly appreciated the half portion as a choice- that allowed us to taste more dishes. What they recommended were all good. Looking for a good place with views on island east side and this new restaurant in the new hotel satisfies. Views are amazing during the lunch time we went. Nights should be good too. Seating is spacious and comfortable. Menu is modern Southeast Asian with some innovation. Portions are good/ big and we like how they tasted. The ambience and atmosphere are very different. Lunch feels like a Japanese market with crowds and a lot happening ; dinner feels like a modern central hangout venue. Take your pick. We discovered this place early July then been back three times. We like the omakase offering where you really can dictate the price range and what you want, rather than set menus. Prices are much more reasonable then other places where premiums are charged for celebrity chef, deco, or special food treatments. Fresh and seasonal Food imported from Japan is served in an authentic and direct way, which results in great value for money. Desserts are different each time, made with seasonal ingredients. This neighborhood western eatery with seafood is a gift. I can having the party , going out experience within steps to my home. Great selection of fresh oysters and Sunday afternoon Happy Hour is a steal. All the other hot dishes are casual and easy with the seafood mains. Staff are always nice. Not familiar with Kowloon bay - but today we are around here and have this place a try. So pleasantly surprised. The famous marinated goose doesn’t disappoint. Chiu Chow “shiu lok gwah” with shrimp is also nice- nicely fried but not oily. The mantis shrimp is done well, seasoned well, and so fairly priced. Dessert soups are also good.
