The quality of scrambled egg was good & the toast was puffy with crispy layer 🍳🍞👍🏼 Satay noodles was quite salty.BBQ Pork was delicious! 😋 But was disappointed there were only 4 slices 🥲 Also the service we waited 20 minutes for the bbq rice to arrive. Waited for an hour but it was worth the wait, didn’t feel long because I can't believe there’s finally a branch around the neighborhood! 🔸 EEL CREAM CHEESE SUSHI 🍣 🧀Another sushi chain restaurant to have this was disappointed it disappeared from their menu. When I saw this, I was happy that I ordered 2 😝 It was good value for the money $27 because the eel was big & appreciated jow the cream cheese is on the side which gives you flexibility how you’d like to eat the sushi! It was amazing! 😋🤩 Eel was soft, yet sweet and the cheese was just the right amount for the whole portion! 🔸 PUMPKIN TEMPURA 🍤The pumpkin was firm & not soggy. The crisp as well was just right. Waited 20 minutes for it though but it was served hot & crispy. I suggest ordering this first as they arrive late makes u full. The portion was a lot for one person because they actually serve a generous amount of them in big sizes. Good value for money as it was just $12 👍🏼🔸 SASHIMI & OTHER SUSHI 🍣Sashimi was okay. Amount of it was good as it was just $37. Yet, the variety wasn’t particularly my favorite combo. This has been our go to restaurant as they give a good amount of Hainan Chicken & serve their service at night time is swift & smooth. Also, if you’re juggling between having Laksa or chicken, this is the place to go! They have meal sets that have laksa on the side, which still has a bit of all the filling. Or for the main dish, they could also serve laksa with seafood or chicken. 🔸 LAKSA 🍜🦐The creamy soup and texture was what kept me coming back to this restaurant.😋 The soup wasn’t diluted and even if it was a big bowl of Laksa which I tried the other night, it was still the same quality. It has a spicy sensation but it was just right as it wasn’t too spicy that leaves you quenching your thirst.🌶️👌🏽The texture of the noodles was great! It’s chewy & not soggy which was a great combination to complement the creamy soup. But if you want to have a strong sharp taste of laksa with spice & sour taste, this may not be what you’ll prefer.🔸 HAINAN CHICKEN 🐓 The Hainan Chicken was good value for money as there was a generous amount of them on the plate unlike other restaurants we’ve been to. The sauce to dip was also good although expecting the ginger sauce to be more sharp but it was rather greasy. It didn’t have thick chunky meat cuts and they were boneless too which is just right as when you dip the piece into the sauces, it absorbs all the sauces right away and saturates into the oil rice.👌🏽😄🔸 PANDAN RICE w/ BEEF 🍚🌾Ordered pandan rice with chicken. The rice didn’t have the coconut taste and it was a little too grainy. It was exciting to see a new branched in Sai Wan Ho so we wanted ti grab a quick lunch to try the quality of sushi.🔹SUSHI VARIETY🍣Ordered, tuna, sashimi salmon and the salmon sushi roe. Quality of sushi is better than other branches where the salmon seemed like to just come out unthawed from the fridge. It was thick cut & tender. The presentation of the salmon sashimi was neat with a lot of radish. 🔹CHEESE MOCHI 🧀🍡Also tried the Cheese Mochi for the person. It was quite greasy but the crispy layer was nice. Lots of cheese leaking out as soon as you have a bite but expect the mochi to drip and get floppy as it is soaked in oil. Size is too big I think for mochi. 🔶 JAPANESE THEMED DESSERT CORNER🎏🎎Went here a few times and was surprised by the amazing variety & their creative Japanese corner. Since our friend whom the celebration was for has a sweet tooth from Japan, this was the perfect place to bring him to indulge in a variety if sweetness & have a taste of Japan, his hometown 🇯🇵🥰The sakura Mt.Fuji Cake🌸 🗻 was very artistic and it tasted very creamy with icing that was not overwhelmingly sweet! The mochi was the the highlight for us because there were a few flavors to choose from. The custard too was worth trying, my only regret is I didn’t have my second round and it ran out really quick! 🔸 THE BBQ/HIT FOOD CORNER 🍖🥙The bbq or fried food was served hot all the time as they wouldn’t pile too much and get cold so I was happy to always get crispy skewers and tempura. The foie gras was great as it was not just served as a meat but we had to line up for it with a card. It was worth the wait as it was served with a very nice presentation. The Oyster cheese was a must try! The oysters surprisingly were big and the cheese covering it had the eight saltiness not to overwhelm the original essence of the oyster even if it was cooked. There were no pizzas when we came which I believe they could have told us before we were seated inside. On top of that, we chose a dessert but didn’t realize they took the menu before we ordered the add on $30 dessert lunch. It would be nice if they were able to ask if we have anymore orders before it was taken away.THE GRILLED US PRIME RIBEYE STEAK 🥩 Ordered Ribeye Steak medium rare. It was just the right cut and texture. The portion & quality was good value for moneyBLACK TRUFFLE SPAGHETTI 🍝 The truffle wasn’t as strong as we expected it to be but it was okay as we had ordered steak which was already full of flavors. Texture of pasta was al dente, just not the strong aroma & taste of truffle, the kind of earthly punch if you want to have bolder flavor. SinceThere was a generous amount of arugula on top as well which I didn’t mind as I didn’t have salad on the side. EGG WAFFLES FONDUE 🫕 We were craving for egg waffles & ordered this and dipping it on the fondue was definitely a unique experience experience! Was a bit skeptical how it would work as egg waffles alone has a rich smooth texture. Surprisingly, the custard was creamy so dipping the egg waffle pieces soaked up all the custard right away. As soon as the egg waffles got colder, it lost the crisps that gives it texture so highly suggest to dip it as soon as the dessert as served. Wouldn’t imagine to find such a gem in a busy street of TST! Not only was the retro vibe, vintage paintings and furnishing that contributed to the good atmosphere but the friendly staff as well. I came here both on a busy day & on a weekend where it was less crowded but they have maintained a very good quality of service We ordered “Nasi Lemak Beef Rendang”. It was amazing!!! The pandan coconut rice with the shrimp paste was an unexpected flavor. The shrimp paste wasn’t too salty so it perfectly complemented the beef with rice. The beef shredded right away as soon as you cut it which was just the right texture. I’ve tried coconut pandan rice before but this was by far the best I have tried! Definitely recommend! 😋 The Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee’s soup base was nothing ordinary. It was a perfect mixture of seafood which complemented our order. The pork belly was scrumptious, just the right cut which absorbed the soup. Amazing! The portion was also more than we expected as it looks rather small in the picture. The “Teh Tarik” is a must try!!! Creamy, strong yet amazing texture. It wasn’t too sweet as well which I preferred as our meals were already rich in flavor. If you’re a tea lover, this is definitely worth the try! I’d go back here in this restaurant again and again and won’t ever ge tired. Vibe-wise, service as well as food quality & variety, it is definitely worth it for the value!! I’ve been to various Brick Lane Branches but what makes this unique is it’s at a busy neighborhood but tucked in at a quiet corner of the street with plenty of natural light & view of trees and passersby. The scones was okay. It was rather dry and expecting a little more moist in texture. The highlight was the creme brûlée as the sweetness and texture above was just the right sugar crust needed The red velvet cake has just got the right moisture and sweetness which was the highlight of the whole tea set. 🍰Overall, it was good value for the money and we couldn’t even finish the food so it’s definitely good for 2 people. The restaurant itself was a perfect choice to celebrate or wedding anniversary. Wanted somewhere intimate, quiet and outdoor where we can just enjoy the night so it was just what we wanted as we have the breeze from the sea close by and the restaurant was tucked away at the very end of the promenade. The swing seats was on a first come first serve basis and since we came on a weekday, we didn’t have trouble getting the spot even on an early evening 😄We had the seafood tower. However, the steak was good & got a medium rare which was delish! As for the dessert, we ordered the Lemon curd pavlova. We thought the design was really exquisite with the “Happy Anniversary” greeting. The playful plating presentation was just as playful as you eat it together with a surprising twist of bold color coming out as you pop the pavlova. A wide selection of meat, different variety of cuts just enough to keep you your taste buds satisfied but not overwhelming to make you feel full or your plate filled with chunk of meat allowing you to savor the grilled taste of the meat! There is a paper sign you can flip to indicate “No more Thank You” Generally I feel full eating meat easily,but I felt the salad bar variety and cold cuts still was filling enough which makes it a good value for money. A very unique cafe that gives you a taste of Japan! Very nice coffee & food but most of all the interior indoor and outdoor wraps the whole experience to a complete package that is a must try! It was a fun place to celebrate! The windows gave way to plenty of natural light and the interior was very playful yet charming which matches its crazy mix of flavors especially the drinks!
