Comprehensive lunch menu served on weekends with a good selection of skewers on offer.The sushi set meal is good value for 12 selection of fish including sea urchin!They don’t have skewers set for lunch but don’t let that fool you - their sticks are great quality grilled to perfection. Tasty and well thought through mixture of both stringy and tart cheeses in a simple cheese toastie / grilled cheese sandwich.  Includes 4 cheeses to satisfy the sandwich snobs out there - with variety of choices for add-ons like bacon to get the right tender juicy meat mix.Under-rated store, will satisfy anyone who is after a quality sourdough combo that hits the spot. Small shop with great value and tasty tripe sandwich - don't forget to add the chili oil - gives it a nice sharp kick! Went back a second day to try the pasta trippa e fagioli - al dante with well seasoned tomato sauce / tripe that just hits the spot! It does allow for either spaghetti or fusilli and a very generous serving of parmesan on top.  While I had pre-ordered this on an app, chef made this fresh as I waited.I do wish the bread was more on a ciabatta or sourdough texture rather than a rustic burger bun which was on the soft and airy side.  Considering the soft tripe and pesto-type sauce would pair better with a less airy bread.The serving is small - but great if you're after a small bite - suggest adding a side dish to make it more filling.…查看更多

A few months past the height of COVID I had visited this place, food was great but service took an hour to deliver a set menu main dish. I held back and did not write a review - thank god because when I returned around 6 months later: the service was much more attentive and food choices were amazing.Like many Japanese places in HK they service a multitude of dishes with varying degrees of quality, but this place does very well in terms of skewers and robatayaki. Sushi / raw dishes were fine in terms of quality of the fish but did not stood out compared to its grilled dishes.🍚 succulent skewers - chicken heart, pork shiso and ox tongue were deliciously good. Is it the best omurice? Not exactly. But it does hit the spot for a warm hearty lunch.I do like how they let you chose the spiciness - most Japanese curry options in HK aren’t hot enough or is too sweet (more gravy than curry). It’s a good menu that you can pair with a free drink to make it a good priced combo compared to some of the other more apparently authentic Japanese place in TST.I had a double mini- Hamburg steak with omurice - one with a nice cheese middle. This is no upscale foreign food imported supermarket chain sushi - but you'll find yourself with a good deal, nearly half price from the big chains.  With a discounted price, it's also discounted quantity of raw fish.  If you frequent a similar eatery near Canal Road West / Bowrington (starting with O) - this is going to be a similar fare of food, with the added exception of some evil deep fried snacks and selection of rice bowls.🍚 Assorted Raw Fish Rice Bowl (aka Chirashi for the foodies) $55Can't complain for the price, fish was fresh although in very small chunks (also small proportions).  You will be served some fluffy sushi rice that can last you for two meals.   Only complaint was their packet wasabi is no-joke - don't over do it.  I personally would return to try their handrolls which should (hopefully) have a better fish to rice ratio.…查看更多

I was super worried there will be no seats. Tucked on a Sai Kung side street - this little coffee place serves a few savory bagels, sweet cakes and scones.Unfortunately the store is facing a rather busy road in Sai Kung - the store compensates by an aroma of agarbatti (Indian incense sticks) to help drift you into a relaxing environment.Also on the menu - is an addition of CBD oil in the coffee to help you relax!Seating is rather limited but overall a nice place to sit down for a drink/chat outside of the busy Sai Kung streets.Overall a well rounded black coffee, smoothly flavorful with a hint of bitterness.  Strong but not overbearing.…查看更多

The eatery has a nice rooftop facing the old buildings in Causeway Bay, and serves an extremely wallet friendly happy hour (albeit with some drawbacks on the crowd it attracts, but.. .. who can say no to cheap drinks?).  While drink choices aren't extremely diverse, you will never be disappointed with the ratio of spirits to mixer..  overall service was quite attentive, considering the large patio that they have to cover!  But we did get an order mix-up.. 🍚 Deep Fried Cheese Balls - not overly amazing, but does well for a bar snack.   Batter was a bit thicker than I had hoped, but this is no arancini so don't try to judge it like one.  Served with a tangy-chili sauce to give it a kick, well paired with some cheap booze.…查看更多

A great location for anyone wanting to get out of the city and grab a decent lunch without crowds.Amble outdoor seating area with attentive staff, only downside was the meal for 2 arrived at very different times ... but overall decent and affordable lunch!  Unfortunately the lunch combos don't seem to really do a lot of 'German' dishes, so if you did want to sample some actual authentic German then you'll need to jump into the a la carte. 🍚 Pork Chops / Pan Fried Chicken with Chips, served with a drink and soup - while both were of different meat, they had the same sauce/chips/salad.  Both meats were well marinated and succulent when arrived, albeit the chicken took an extra 10 minutes than the porkchop.  Overall a decent lunch combo with stunning water views that didn't break the bank. …查看更多

After moving to a new address and bigger eat in area this pho-ery still delivers a top notch Viet Beef Noodle Pho - with one of the best broth in the city!I was also super impressed by their quality of service as well, they had specifically told me that my rice dish would take longer and went to the effort to ensure all our dishes arrived at the same time so that my counterparts did not finish their dish before I got the chance to start.  The place does lack non-meat/carbless dishes, so vegetarians and dieters beware.🍚 Raw Beef Noodle - as always amazing broth combo.. easily hands down the best pho in Central.🍚 Pan Fried Chicken with Omurice - highly recommend this for people who didn't feel like noodles.  Tender chicken thighs with just-right eggs over white rice.   Served with a side of chilli+soy sauce - like all true-Viet restaurant.…查看更多

With a global brand comes a lot of pre-conceptions (and low expectations!).  Like the Aussie-O-steak place, in which it's offering in Hong Kong is somewhat disappointing.   However I am glad that Cheesecake Factory surely does not disappoint and does deliver the American-serving size (beware the nachos are a monster serving for a family of 4)!They currently serve a Social Hour during weekdays at 3-6pm (again not too sure if this is the seasonal-COVID special!) but the prices for the ENORMOUS dishes are a bargain (each dish including a non-alcoholic drink). Such that a Long Island Ice Tea is $50 - and they are super generous with their drink size!🍚 Deep Fried Macaroni & Cheese - on the outside it reminds one of the Italian aracini (rice balls) - which was a great balance of texture - with a crunchy but thin exterior hiding a cheesy macaroni innard served with a creamy red sauce🍚  Avocado egg roll - I wasn't too sure what to expect here, as I had the Chinese egg roll (daan goon) in mind.  I would say when the dish arrived - it was like thin wonton wrappers rolled around just-riped avocado, deep fried and served with a tangy tamarind sauce.  Again did not disappoint with the textures - and I was very surprised how much the tangy sauce grew on me, considering I mainly avoid anything with tamarind ....🍚Parmesan-Garlic Cheese Bread - I think this was the lowest rated dish from the whole meal, mainly because they used a turkish-like bread with melted cheese and served with more cheese dips and salsa.   Garlic felt like it missed the mark there (I actually could not really taste the garlic at all) also.. ... I don't feel like it was the artisan bread I had hoped for.🍚 Cinnabon Cinnamon Swirl Cheesecake - the cinnamon sugar in this is UNREAL and like all sweets that land in Hong Kong it did not feel like the sugar was overpowering and you can taste the creamy cheesecake being wrapped in a classic cinnabon.... mmmmm.  Remember to check out the ACTUAL size of the cake slices in the fridge first, some look like it can feed a family (and my photo did not do it justice in terms of actual serving size..)…查看更多

While it does fall under a major franchise (their concept/specialist cuisine line of food), they still manage to run a very efficient and flavourful Szechuan/Shanghai/Japanese fusion restaurant that brings together some typical yakitori/izakaya dishes with a mishmash of dimsum and noodles (ramen and udon).Weekday, peak hour rush equates to a minimum wait for 20 minutes (especially given the COVID situation with spaced out seating).  Only gripe was that while I dined with others, our dishes arrived at VERY different times - hence while I had finished my noodle dish, my counterpart's dish had just arrived. 🍚 Chilli sesame & peanut soup ramen with chopped salted turnip & dried tofu (AKA as Dandan Noodles with diced tofu and brined turnip) -  for some reason their approach to an English translations for this dish surely did draw a few confused looks.  Overall the dish was full of umami but lacked the peanut/sesame taste - it was spicy but not overpowering.  Noodles were authentic to dandan noodles and overall a satisfying dish.…查看更多

The choices that a modern vegetarian has these days are endless.  With the amount of innovation and R&D finally taking shape recently as the impossible and omni range of meatless meat - its a good time to try out vegetarianism.This is a place that does more western-styled vegetarian dishes, with an ever changing menu which aims to turn Asian classics into a vegetarian dish.  They tend to change their dishes a fare bit dependent on season, so make sure you look up their menu before you pop in! 🍚 Beyond Burger Black - this mimics the Big M brands black pepper angus burgs, however while the patties feel more pork-ish than beef-ish, the sauce was a slight disappointment being over thick and rathersalty.  Chips/fries were done quite well with potato skin on - crunchy with a soft inside.  I had higher expectations for this place, however the burger patty and sauce combo did fall a bit behind.  None the less so unique in it's category that I had to give it a thumbs up!…查看更多

Was told this was a legendary place was well hidden in Soho and I am not surprised that the pilgrimage did indeed take a long time up the infamous central hills.  This place is extremely dog friendly, every single four legged pet will refuse to leave the place.🍚 Vegetable Banh Mi - I thoroughly enjoyed the crunch of the baguettee and the pickled vegetables, smashed with just-riped avocado smeared throughout.  While it doesn't have pate, it sure does a  very nice meatless Banh Mi!  I do want to commend their filling to bun ratio, which has been by far the BEST in Hong Kong.🍚 Vegetable rice paper rolls - the fillings were very similar to the Banh Mi, while sauce wise was veering away from the traditional peanut sauce, but felt like nice smoot peanut butter - which was different but still acceptable!The place also has great outdoor seating, not a lot of views but very nice under a warm sun in winter.…查看更多
