Stumbled upon this place while looking for some “western” food in Mongkok. The vibes were quite good, filled with the after-work crowd since it’s a weekday. Don’t let the higher floor deter you, it’s worth going up to the 13th floor despite having to take the lift or quite a few flights of escalators. Food is of decent quality. They have “all-day” happy hour promotion during the time of my visit, with prices $60 and up for beer and wine. I do recommend a visit if you’re in the neighbourhood. I heard from a friend this place is Thai-owned and operated. From the moment I stepped in, it’s as if I’ve stepped through a worm hole to Thailand! All our favourite staple Thai dishes can be found here: prawn cakes, papaya salad, Pad Thai, Tom Yum Goong, etc etc. The best part is that they do not “water down” the spices (unless you ask them to) — meaning you get the authentic fiery taste! They also serve Thai beers like Singha and Chang, as well as their own creative cocktails. This place is an excellent choice if you have that sudden craving for good Thai-food. The whole experience was really good. From the greeting at reception, to the table arrangement, to the sincere and caring attitude of the servers, to the quality of the food. This place is 5-star and it’s worth a visit. In fact it is better than some so-called 5-star hotels. I need to give a things up to their grooming as well. Customers notice everything and their efforts won’t go unnoticed. And oh! Kind of disappointed at the level of service at this supposedly 6-star hotel. Most of the servers do not wear a smile and are borderline having some snobbish attitude. Even in this kind of property they told us the dining time is limited to 2 hours. In fact one can say it’s unacceptable. It is already weird to begin with for such an expensive restaurant to limit duration of dining time to 90mins. It is even worse they started to remind us to leave at the 60mins mark, for a total of 3 times. This is a fair article because I experienced the same several times before deciding to write. You will be greeted by stern faced employees who don’t care about you as a customer. No greetings, no thank you, definitely no smile. All the staff do not communicate. You don’t hear a sound from them. The WORST part is the wait. The average is 25 mins. Tried the brunch there and booked via OpenRice app. Process was smooth and received phone call to double confirm reservation day before. Located on the 31/F the venue commands magnificent a vista of HK island, food was nutritious and of good standard. 2-hour free flow comes at a reasonable price. This restaurant, given its great location and quality cuisine, has great potential to be an outstanding option in the HK dining scene. That’s only if they decide to train and re-train their staff to serve with a smile and sense of gratitude, and not with some haughty attitude. The sparse table arrangements (spread out on two floors) that this restaurant had rightfully chosen to undertake gave diners great privacy which paved way for a fine dining experience. The food was good but frankly not superb, but for a new establishment at soft opening you can tell they are trying their best to leave a good impression. Tapas dishes like snail and squid were great starters, and the familiar mains including pasta and pizza were solidly delivered. The WOW factor goes to the amazing steak dish which was recommended by the friendly general manager John. The fruit pizza was also a pleasant surprise. Tucked away at Peel Street, this shop serves a variety of fish n chips combos which can be washed down by a variety of bottled beers, craft beers, or good old Stella draft. Was staying at the hotel so decided to try out the place. The spacious layout and courteous service was indeed up to par with a world class hotel restaurant in a prime district of Hong Kong. However the dishes themselves, though by no means are substandard, failed to deliver any wow factor. The quality was similar to any typical dim sum restaurant in Hong Kong. All your favourite Portu-Macanese dishes are nicely done here. The first brownie point was awarded to the hot and crunchy buns. Although they were simply re-heated in a domestic oven I was impressed that the restaurant took the trouble to do so, instead of providing flabby cold buns that most restaurants would do. African-Chicken, Seared Pork Belly, and Spicy Prawns are all musts. Ask for the boat captain when placing orders who offer great recommendations.
