On a weekday lunch, I was craving for steak and luckily there’s a butcher store in wanchai serving French meat - Le Boucher Francaise by @lqvhongkong available for dine-in too. I picked the “butcher’s cut” which is a Maminha steak, also called Tri-tip, is one of the favourite cuts in South America. Its color is like pork but the little fatty & gamey flavour was nice. The other was “Alloyau Flank Steak”, a very tender yet flavourful cut, cooked to medium rare keeping a little pink and juicy center. Each steak is paired with mustard and a choice of side dish, we had french fries and gratin dauphinois - the classic French baked sliced potatoes with cream & cheese. We also had appetisers, salmon rilettes served with toasts and a green gazpacho. The former was fine but the latter was not recommended. But overall, decent venue for a steak fix! 繼續閱讀

Ordered the Parisian ribeye. Although I ordered medium rare, the steak itself is far from tender. Its super dry and lean, super hard to chew. Its nothing like any ribeye that i recalled. Probably one of the worst steaks that i have ever tried. Extremely disappointed.And remember to check your credit card transactions after dining at this restaurant. They charged the bill thrice and only gave me a set of receipts. No explanations at all, not sure if they did it on purpose or its just an accident. I will never visit again. 繼續閱讀

As a steak lover, we have had 𝙱𝚎𝚎𝚏 𝚃𝚎𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚕𝚘𝚒𝚗, 60 𝙳𝚊𝚢𝚜 𝙳𝚛𝚢 𝙰𝚐𝚎𝚍 𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚒𝚙𝚕𝚘𝚒𝚗 with 𝚂𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚜𝚑𝚎𝚜: 𝙱𝚊𝚔𝚎𝚍 𝙼𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚍𝚎 𝚃𝚘𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚘, 𝙼𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚍 & 𝚂𝚊𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝙾𝚗𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝙲𝚛𝚞𝚜𝚝, 𝙴𝚜𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚎 𝙿𝚎𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚛 𝙵𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚌𝚑 𝙵𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜. Not really a big fan of lamp cheese, they do serves ranges of traditional style which is nice in general.Under the group of LQV they have online shop for butchering, wine, cheese and more. I have walked pass by this place for hundred times, finally gave it a try on a happy Friday ! The set lunch was $138 only! Including one starter and one main, good value for money! Opted salmon rillettes for starter and hanger steak as my main.. the portion of the salmon rillettes was really generous, I always love these kinda French spread, but I wish there could be more crispy toasts to pair with it.. (only 3 slices) the hanger steak was a bit of let down, it was slightly overcooked for my liking, I prefer medium rare but I think it was more like a medium.. and the meat was a bit tough to chew, I understand this was just a $138 lunch set, so it was acceptable .. Overall, love the casual vibe here, food was just average but still worth trying if in the area given the price was really affordable .. 繼續閱讀

舞后牛年牛一想据扒,一於牛盡佢,仲諗定要試一間請咗佢食幾次閉門羹嘅「Le Boucher Français」;店名中文翻譯為「法國屠夫」,聽落有少少兇猛,希望佢手勢好啦!法式小館門面嘅紅白磚牆於灣仔橫行內特別鮮明突出,不難找到。由於隔壁同集團嘅酒吧及酒舖「LQV」(Le Quinze Vins)提供嘅酒品種類夠齊全,更可分別於兩店享用,故店主一率不容許食客自攜佳釀。西餐廳並無花巧之裝潢,牆上只掛出零星嘅羊羊解剖圖及牛肉靚相,簡單到題。右方嘅用餐大堂一眼望哂,擺出約六張二至四人嘅合拼式高櫈散座;左方則為廚房位置,面前有個透明玻璃雪櫃陳列出不同部位嘅牛肉款式,望落光鮮衛生。壽星女要求飲紅酒襯托返啲紅肉,但眼見酒牌實在厚得令人有點窒息,結果就隨服務生代為揀選。或許樓面工作只由一人包辦過份吃力吧,忙碌至令其失去耐性,每次講唔夠兩句就走人,態度亦不甚友善。XO仔一向唔飲紅酒同白酒,幸好有香檳可續杯叫,只係$130/杯「Champagne Brut Tradition Domaine Sandrin NV」絕不便宜,尤其以LQV嘅零售價$280/枝計算!晚市只有一頁散點餐牌,四口子每人揀咗一款牛扒,即合共四款,簡單啲清一色要哂「medium rare」,上枱後先自行分黎食。可能係酒後各人嘅聽力有所下降,上菜時總覺得哥哥仔未有交代牛扒部位,唔怕羞嘅小肥當然係會追問清楚啦!講真嗰句,有冇酒精影響下細佬其實都唔會分得出牛牛嘅部位,只係想上載相片時加返個標籤後續一作出評論而已。60 Days Dry Aged Beef Striploin – Grass Fed Salers-Angus French Beef +/- 250g($208):乾式熟成牛肉可以話係一種潮流食品,商店都愛標明此品製作需時及功夫多,特點係熟成咗嘅牛肉會更濃味及更軟嫩,價格亦相對地高。平心而論,此道熟成牛扒主菜一啲都唔貴,食落牛肉嘅質感鬆軟,不過味道就唔係特別濃郁,最令人抱有懷疑嘅係單憑下圖中邊邊位軟潤嘅肥層睇起上黎,牛扒唔係太似經乾式熟成咗六十日囉!Beef Tenderloin – Grass Fed Salers-Angus French Beef +/- 200g($208):店員好肯定地指出虛線碟上嘅為未經熟成過嘅牛柳,烤至外啡內紅嘅牛柳食落相當軟熟可口,無肥更覺健康,意外地係四款之最!45 Days Dry Aged Beef Rump - Grass Fed Salers-Angus French Beef +/- 200g($198):唯一一款打圓形排列嘅臀肉牛扒有嚼勁得也太韌了,雖則話經熟成過都毫不鬆軟,而且冇乜肉味又唔夠肉汁,堅失敗!Hanger Steak/Alloyau Flank Steak/Flanchet Flank Steak - Grass Fed Salers-Angus French Beef +/- 200g($178):最後上嘅hanger steak擺盤有點雜亂,不禁令小弟覺得師傅已經做到好攰咁,牛肉嘅色澤亦明顯比之前三款熟,咬落雖肉汁最為豐盛,但質感反而係最粗嚡,不吃也吧!Ratatouille – A specialty from South of France: Tomatoes, Eggplant, Zucchini, Bell Pepper($58):法式燉雜菜外觀猶如飯堂配菜般粗陋,即使要有鄉村風味都可以靚少少掛!酸酸苦澀嘅味道已不甚討好,內含嘅洋蔥、蕃茄、茄子、翠玉瓜、燈籠椒等濕腍程度更遠超隔夜餸,如果地獄廚神GR見到,相信都會同意XO仔如此形容:「餐廳版本黎講都可以話係盡情表演出誠意欠奉!」Gratin Dauphinois – A gratin of thin French potato slices baked with cream($58):個法式焗香薯先驚嚇,如相所示,舖面嘅幾塊薯仔片擺佈得極不均勻,黃色嘅奶香忌廉更加係離哂罩,絕對有轉移過嘅嫌疑,未食都估到佢又硬又乾,食落口即確認埋,以$58依個價位黎講真係有點兒難消化囉!法式餐店「Le Boucher Français」環境簡潔,無奈菜式及酒品嘅價格有點極端,菜式質量參差,請恕小肥直言,整頓晚餐只能強烈感覺到法國屠夫(相信係店主給予自己嘅暱稱)、廚師及服務生毫無誠意可言,可謂失望透! 繼續閱讀
