This place used to be Mangiare (of the same group) which closed months ago because the chef had left. The Blackboard Kitchen has reopened recently serving reasonably priced western food.

Ambiance is cozy and al fresco. Free corkage until the end of November (as written on a sign).

We have had mussles in cream sources - so and so. small mussles which I like but I'd preferred white wine and herbs.

Grilled 8 oz NZ ribeyed medium rare - cooked as ordered. well seasoned.

Panfried halibut - juicy and tender

The steak and the fish were served on a wooden board with sides of sauteed mushroom and sauteed vege.

All this was washed down with a bottle of Ruffino Chianto Classico Riserva Ducale 2011 bought at the Wellcome across the street ($210).

Service was cozy and nice. Ask for regular water.
