One of the greatest pleasures for me is a really good affogato. Something about coffee and ice cream is one of my most favorite desserts. Simple, yet so perfect.百味堂 (English name : Baekmidang) from Korea has a current pop up shop in Tsim Sha Tsui's K11 mall. Previously, I had gotten a free ice cream cone from them by following the shopping center's promotion. Now, I decided to try out their coffee as it appeared they were using a La Marzocco coffee machine. As there was next to no one in line,

Menu is in English and Chinese. You order at the cashier and you pick up at the pick up section.
I ended up getting an affogato ($68) as I figure ... they are famous for their ice cream, right? What would it taste like with coffee?
They pour the coffee in front of you when you get your order, so you don't do it yourself. It's beautiful, really. Due to the strong ice cream texture, the hot expresso didn't melt the ice cream too much.
Beauty aside, what did it taste like? The expresso was beautiful. Strong and fragrant. A slight nutty flavor. Mixed with the creamy ice cream, it was really excellent. For $68, it wasn't too bad a deal as I've had much more expensive affogato that didn't taste half as good.
Will likely be back before the pop up ends. I plan to try a cake next.
