Quite a number of friends recommended Social Place to me, and I finally got to try it on a late Friday night. I kept thinking that there were ants in my bowl and food throughout the whole meal…Maybe they could use butterflies or gold fishes instead of insects…These Charcoal Buns with Runny Egg Yolk custard were great! These Charcoal Buns with Runny Egg Yolk custard were great! The buns were really fluffy, and the runny custard was so flavored with egg yolk. Beware of it hotness though.
Baby pigeons are my all-time favourite, and these were really really good! The skin was so crispy, and the meat was tender and flavored. I wish there were more meat, as it was so delicious!
These long Shrimp Spring Rolls were of top notch. Shrimps were meaty and fresh, and the whole spring roll was very crunchy. Even the shrimp tails could be eaten.
These little Shrimp Dumplings were very delicious too, with thin skin and fresh shrimp pieces. But it was comparatively less gimmicky when compared to the other dishes we ordered.
The most eye-catching one must be this Flaming Pineapple & Beef. We were told that the flame could help marinating the beef inside with pineapple flavour.
The pineapple and beef inside were so yummy! Juicy and sweet pineapple chucks went really well with the spicy tender beef. I thought there was rice inside, but it was a whole pineapple of other goodies. Nom nom!
