Just felt I should try more Chinese stuff, so tried this place.The food served is not the normal dishes you would find, so here goes!!! The food served is not the normal dishes you would find, so here goes!!! Some were normal, but some needed courage to try such as the snake looking fish skin and the rice with pork oil.
Ordered the preserved egg with green capsicums, scrambled egg white with bittermelon, rice with pork oil and soy sauce, fish skin and stir-fried vegetables.
Preserved egg with capsicums: Neat looking starter, tasted OK.
Scrambled egg white with bittermelon: usually there is egg yolk too, but just egg white tastes good too, the taste is similar to the Shanghai dish crab meat with scrambled egg white.
Fish skin: was a bit hesitant to try, and was also afraid of the fish scales, but it seemed clean enough, although it looked like snake skin. Tasted springy and gelatinous.
Stir-fried vegetables: nothing interesting to mention about them.
Rice with pork oil: hmmm I could only eat one spoonful because the smell of lard makes me vomit, but it did taste quite nice, interestingly served in a bowl that looks like a dog bowl.
