Hong Kong’s food scene is as multi-cultural as its population, making it possible to whisk your taste buds off on a round-the-world journey even without your feet leaving the city! Located on Wyndham Street, Ivan the Kozak restaurant is a wood-paneled, beautifully-decorated, home-cooked haven. Classic, no-frills and hearty dishes like borsch, pirogi have been staples on the menu (which is written in Russian, English and Chinese).Among all the Eastern European foods, though I’m not very familiar

Among all the Eastern European foods, though I’m not very familiar with, the traditional Ukrainian “Borsch” is a must-try here. Borscht is a sour soup with beetroots as one of its main ingredients— which gives the soup a vibrant and bright red color.

Based on meat stock (pork and bones), the soup tastes rich and extremely flavorful. Moreover you can find not only those classic and finely-diced vegetables like cabbage, onion, potato here, but also an exclusive and delicious dollop of sour cream, which gives the soup a creamy texture as well as a hint of acidity. It’s definitely a hearty meal-in-a-bowl for blustery April days.

For main course, “Chicken Kiev” is always at the top of my list! It’s crispy, it’s stuffed and it’s DELICIOUS!

The tender chicken breast is stuffed with herbed butter, breaded and cooked to a crispy perfection. With its secret homemade mushroom sauces and crispy baked potato chips, I have had one of the greatest chicken experiences ever— buttery, tender, succulent, juicy, crispy and flavorful!
