Before starting a brand new year at work, my foodie friend invited me to this restaurant. It was my first time to visit this restaurant but I’ve heard a lot about it from others already. Before starting a brand new year at work, my foodie friend invited me to this restaurant. It was my first time to visit this restaurant but I’ve heard a lot about it from others already. The environment is very cozy; it is a comfortable place to catch up with your friends.
Me and my friend were very hungry already so we quickly look through the menu. I was looking at the little bites menu and there were lots to choose from. I want to try most of them and then my friend told me that we can order a sharing board so we can choose three or four from the menu. So we chose crab & avocado, sautéed field mushrooms and crunchy calamari. My friend suggested to order “The Grill Room Platter’ since we both were very hungry and craving for meat!!!!!!

After we ordered, the staff gave us two glasses of bubbles!!!!!! She said “Free bubbles for every main you order”. Lucky day!!!!!! Our starter came 15 minutes later; the set up of the food was very nice, the dishes were served in little tin pot and everything was placed on a big wooden board. My favourite was the crab & avocado; we mixed the crab with the avocado and tomato and then put them on the toast.

The dressing of the dish was very mild so I can still taste the freshness of the avocado and crab meat. The sautéed field mushrooms was my second favourite, they were very creamy! I can taste the cream cheese in every mouthful. I always love the calamari but this one here was a bit salty. The calamaris were very crunchy but we don’t know what they put in the coating mixture which made them very salty. BUT after dipping them into their special yoghurt sauce, they don’t taste that bad.

After awhile, the grill room platter arrived. It contains the signature pork ribs, beef short ribs, peri peri chicken, jumbo tiger prawns, coleslaw and fries. It also comes with 5 different sauces; the staff clearly explained which meat goes with which sauce. To start with, we tried the beef short ribs. They were cooked exactly the way we wanted which was medium done. They tasted very nice with the BBQ sauce and the meat was easy to chew. The signature pork ribs were very tasty. The ribs were marinated with their special dry rub and cooked for 8 hours. The secret sauce that they put on top of the ribs was like a berry sauce to me. It tasted a bit sour like wild berry. The meat was very crispy and easy to come off the bone so we can eat it with our hands. My favourite was peri peri chicken; the chicken was tender and not spicy. You can taste the ginger and garlic. I love the peri peri sauce!!!!!! It reminds me of Nando’s but unfortunately they don’t have it in Hong Kong. The jumbo tiger prawns were very tasty as well, they seasoned them perfectly. You do not need to dip them in any sauce. It was very easy to take the meat out of the shell as well. The fries were thick and crispy.
